NATIONAL
MISSIONARY CONVENTION
for congregations of Christians only!
Every hour that you as a body are in session our prayerful concern will be that God will lead you one and all to genuine triumph in
WORDS and DEEDS for HIS GLORY!
Carrying out the Great Commission of Our Lord is indeed the most challenging, exhausting, daring, pioneering enterprise on this earth. The human mind cannot imagine any other enterprise that is so essential
to ALL THE NEEDS OF THE HUMAN FAMILY. Indeed, all of
the fruits of our modern educational techniques, all the wisdom of men accumulated over the centuries, are pitifully inadequate to negotiate the grades . . . cope with the problems . . . and pass the barriers that are involved in this tremendous undertaking.
As a body of Christians only, with an unique testimony for Christ, we have much to learn about methods and the technique of this under taking^but praise God we are having growing painsyes, we sense a stirring at the grass roots, so to speak.
Brethren, how we do pray, that Satan will not get an advantage over you by schismatic, uncrucified, self-centered motives, ambitions and thoughts in your midst, as you feast on God's Word, sing His praises, and study together that you be Spirit-led according to His Word. We know the great enemy of such distinctive gatherings as the one you are now in will be prepared to sabotage your every movement, but those among you that are not ignorant of his devices, and that are equipped with the Spiritual Armor - can prove to be more than Conquerors by
God's Grace.
We think, brethrenthat there is no saturation point . . . that there is no limit of any kind . . . with what can be done through a body of people who are animated by the Spirit of Christ, and completely free from the deathly grips of materialism, institutionalism, sectarianism, traditionalism, formalism and outright worldliness.
Our pattern is perfect, it needs no revision whatever, but our practice of that pattern stands in Need of much prayer. The plea to restore the ancient order of things will never be outgrown. That Gospel not after man is still the most refreshing, satisfying, attractive, renovating news for the weary, wandering, confused, lost children of men in this generation.
Let us be alert and careful to NOT bind where God did NOT bind,
and to NOT loose where God DID bind. We are positive that you brethren share this caution with us. Oh, that God's Truth along with HIS GRACE might quicken one and all in this convention, and then
may that inworking of God manifest itself to all the world, even out here in far-away Cebu and the Southern Philippines. We are praying an
announcement will be made soon of a family that has decided to help
out here.
third year student and Arcadio is a second year student. These young peo ple are typical of the others who make up our student body this year. Four
teen students are enrolled this semester.
It is young people like these two that we hope and praywill let God use them to evangelize this beautiful republic in
the Far East. To that end we exhaust

town on this Island.
Bits of News . . .
The Ray Carlson family now live in Chicago as they help establish a new congregation for Christ in a suburb of that city. Miss Yarbrough is back home in Georgia, with busy plans for Nurses training. We are happy that our daughter, Nancy, can enjoy the fellowship of the convention you are now in. Students, as well as faculty members, are busy in the Cebu Bible Seminary. Our school year runs from July through to March. We pray we shall be enabled, to return to the States in Spring or early Summer of next year, 1956. Our Seminary building and necessary developments for general use, are not yet completed due to shortage of funds for the same. Every Sunday, rain or shine, the Go Ye Chapel and crew are on the road to a special service in the midst of people who have never before heard the message we bring. A nucleus of brethren from a congregation in Cebu City have ac cepted land grants from the local government on the Island of Masbate, and the migration there from all over the Philippines makes it a strategic location for evangelistic efforts just now. We have very recently enjoyed a short visit with the Rempel family enroute to India via Manila and Cebu City. Circulation of printed materials sent from Brethren back home, as well as used clothing, is a means of teaching as well as spreadingChristian good will where needed, very much. The Radio ministry and correspondence courses continue to offer opportunities to those precious souls yet unreached for Christ. Multiplied thousands of copies of scripture portions have been given out in the native dialect because of those back home who made it possible.

The radio program each Sunday Morning entitled "The Christian's Hour" is bringing many requests for
leaflets offered free over the radio.
These requests indicate the wide listening audience from all over the thickly populated city area of Cebu.

Here is the "Go Ye Chapel", parked in the market area of Naga City a few miles from Cebu City. Crescencia Labrado is on the platform of the chapel, teaching with aid of Public Address system, the crowd that assembled that Sunday after noon late. Later on that evening
colored slides of the Life of Christ were shown with Sister Crescencia
teaching in the native dialect. Many Young People from Martires Church and other places helped in circu lating free printed materials throughout that community.
