A Proposal Achieving Common-Ground Within the GOP [recognizing that this is a defining historical moment] Accumulated hyperlinks regarding

g Reverse Racism are overwhelming [and will be categorized over the weekend] and 25-pages of cites regarding the Middle East loom; for now, politics and the media will be assessed candidly as the effort to defund ObamaCare threatens to tear asunder the GOP [carrying uncertain consequences]. The base will not permit the leadership to obfuscate, and that includes any effort to link this granular-effort with anything else that might otherwise appeal [such as sequester, or debt-ceiling, or the farm bill, or defense spending]; the alternative is stark [primarying], for the GOP must champion what the great majority of Americans want, namely, the demise of statist-medicine. Valerie Jarrett claims BHO's Legacy Will Be Immigration and Healthcare, and the only way Congress will detect its backbone regarding the former [and block amnesty] will be if it grows one when dealing with the latter. Tea Party Patriots were featured in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, and this will trigger an effort to finger the faux adherents to the TEA [Taxed Enough Already] Party Movement. And this, in turn, will include entities such as Americans for Prosperity and its State Director, Jennifer Stefano [and the reader is invited to note her silence when manyincluding this physicianchallenged both her premises and her approach, notwithstanding the justifiable stridency of the full-page ad reprinted infra]; this local-girl-made-good hosts a Saturday-p.m. radio-gig and routinely pens red-meat for Conservatives, exemplified by this recent piece about the Ds rock-star, AG-Kane, Pennsylvanias Disney Princess]. The GOP must find a way to bridge this gap and one has been touted under-the-radar to people who should want to avoid bloody intramural conflict. First, the Continuing Resolution must be recognized as an ongoing indictment of Congress; Guzzardi and this physician chatted-up Rep. Tom Price during the swearing-in party for Toomey for a half-hour, and one take-away was the fact that no one has tabulated all the administrative-departments; thus, although sporadic reports are issued by the GAO regarding the euphemistic-trifecta [waste, fraud, abuse], no one has proposed meaningful interventions @ any time [and this, of course, exists in a spending-spree environment themed by Ds who reward their donors]. Second, in this emergency-situation, the CR must be viewed as a guava-bomb which, in Vietnam, enhanced damage when baby-guavas exploded episodically after initial ordnance had been dropped; within the context of parliamentary procedure, this is termed dividing the question. Specifically, if the remaining 10 spending bills are NOT aggregated into one CR, then those unrelated to ObamaCare can be passed and then approved in a clean fashion by the Senate; BHO wouldnt find justification to refuse signing them. The remaining bills [HHS and Treasury, for sure] would then be amended to strip the $ for ObamaCare [vide infra] and would presumably become the focus of intense political/media scrutiny. In this fashion, no one could reasonably claim the GOP had shut down the government; thus, it would then be possible to focus on the second rhetorical-objection to the defunding-movement, namely, that the GOP hasnt proffered a reasonable alternative-plan to the implementation of ObamaCare. This is totally false, of-course, citing Tom Prices bills and John Goodmans oeuvre, but such arguments have been inflated by pols such as The Newt [Gingrich], engaged in attention-seeking behavior [noting his plans to exhume the glory-days of CNN via Cross-Fireto be aired @ 6:30 p.m. and, thus, competing with the Fox Grapevine and All Star Panel]. Third, to neutralize them, legislation such as that which has already been submitted by Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick [focused on preserving the goodies in ObamaCare] could be gutted and replaced by the complete GOP-Plan [interstate competition, etc.] along with a fiscal-noteand then appended to the two CRstherefore undermine any claim that the GOP is merely functioning as The Party of NO! within this context [and perhaps others, over time].
