RESEARCH INTEREST

• The 6th Michigan Infantry and their service as Infantry and as Heavy Artillery.
• Develop an understanding of soldierly communication between the two theaters
of the American Civil War. Specifically how/if men from the same state(s)
communicated with each other.
• Develop a deeper understanding of home front reaction to military success and
failure, especially in the face of severe casualties.

• Understanding of the operations and procedures of computer-aided survey


research and the intricacies of human subject research.
