MAINTENANCE MANAGER SOGEX OMAN CO LLC, MUSCAT Sept 2003 to Till now

SOGEX is basically a Operation and Maintenance contracting company of power and desalination plants. Presently they are operating Manah Power Plant at Oman, Sohar Power Company at Oman and one more plant at Algeria. Also they are partners in some of the power plants. I am posted as a Maintenance Manager at Manah Power Plant which has two Frame 9 and three Frame 6 (GE make) gas turbines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all the preventive, scheduled and unscheduled and breakdown

maintenance (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) activities inside the plant.

Involves advance planning and scheduling of the jobs and arrangement and

verification of men and materials required for the execution of the job.
Follow up of the jobs for its timely and proper execution. Inventory spares management, which includes Purchase request, Technical approval

and inspection of the materials and availability of the materials in enough quantity. Communication with different vendors, clients and Gas Turbine manufacturer GE for the procurement of materials. Work orders tracking and its data entry. Equipment History Generation. Tools and instruments calibration and certification. Pressure vessels testing. Do risk analysis of the jobs to fix the responsibility and accountability. Doing all the modifications and improvements necessary to the plant. Train the subordinates and maintenance team for the latest maintenance techniques and standards. Sub-ordinates administration like leave schedule, attendance etc. Writing Technical Reports and Maintenance Procedures. Forms creation to support the maintenance procedures.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Installation of the Computerised Maintenance Management System(CMMS) for work order process and inventory management. Automated and Implemented the report writing system among the departments. I have done many modifications and improvements in the plant which cut cost on spares and user friendly to the maintenance reducing the job time. Some of them I have listed here. v Interconnection of all the gas turbine air receiver tanks thereby eliminated the usage of Air compressors and its spares. v Exhaust plenum expansion joints were frequently failing in frame 9 machines. Trouble shooted the problem providing the guides. v Fabrication of Maintenance tool box trolley which cut the most travelling time of the workers. v Developed Opportunity maintenance awareness among the people within the time frame.

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER Sogex Oman Co LLC,, Muscat, OMAN

May 2000 to August 2003

Carried out routine, preventive, breakdown maintenance of Frame 5, Frame 6B(3 Nos.) and Frame 9E (2 Nos.) Gas Turbines and its auxiliaries. Fully involved and experienced in Combustion Inspections, Hot Gas Path Inspections and Major Inspections in accordance with OEM manual recommendations and also under the Guidance of GE Technical Advisors. Carrying out annual maintenance of all the balance of plant equipments such as water bath heaters, pumps, filter replacements, gas valve etc.

Prepared maintenance schedules with proper allotment of manpower and material resources. Scheduled works and workflow in MS PROJECT 2000. Worked as a core team person in plant computerization (MAXIMO) and its customisation, which includes spares and work management. Co-Ordination with planning department in all the maintenance activities from planning till execution. Co-Ordination with Operation Department in all pre-commissioning and Isolation & De-Isolation activities. As a senior authorized person in the Safety permit to work system and took all the appropriate permits for safe and timely execution of the jobs.
