It is in the centre of the city, the London home of kings and queens of Britain; If the Queen is in the palace, visitors can see the flag flying on the flag pole.

Changing of the Guards is a famous tourist attraction; Five regiments of Foot Guards guard the Palace. They wear red jackets and tall, furry hats called bearskins.

Buckingham palace is like a small town with a police station, two post offices and a hospital, a bar and two sports clubs, a swimming pool and a cinema. There are about 600 rooms in the palace and about 700 people work in it.

The ancient Tower of London is on the north bank of the river Themes. It was started by William the Conqueror who invaded Britain in 1066. It was once a prison for enemies of the king. People say ghosts of the men and women who died in the Tower still walk here at night.

In The Tower of London there is a museum where Henry VIIIs armor is kept. You can see that all the parts of his body are well protected.

Tower Bridge
Not far from the Tower of London is Tower Bridge. There are machineries in both towers and when a high boat goes under the bridge, it opens.

They say that if you see the bridge open, it brings you good luck.
