3 Practical Exercises
Complete the following exercises, using the SAP QA System. Enter the information on the form provided and hand to your facilitator when complete.

3.1 What does SAP stand for?

3.2 What can a SAP password consist of?


Any combination of characters. At least three but no more than eight characters

3.3 What are mandatory fields?


These are fields that marked by the ticked checkbox. Entries in these fields are compulsory. Transactions can not be processed without valid data being entered into these fields. (2)

3.4 What is the difference between the Production and QA Systems? When would you use which?
Production is the live client with correct business data. QA is the testing client. Production client is used when the business goes live. (4)

3.5 Why is the status bar important?


The status bar is used by the system to display information, error and warning messages. It also displays details such as the client description, the session number, client number and the server name. (2)

3.6 What is a transaction code?


A transaction code in SAP usually consists of four characters (it could be more or less), which may be any combination of letters and numbers, for example: MM01 or SWLD. Each transaction in SAP has its own unique transaction code. The transaction code is typed into the Command Field. (2)

Using the Favourites menu and selecting the Add option. Select the Add to favourites button.

3.13 What would happen if you close a session without saving?


You will lose your data as the system does not prompt you to save the data if you end the session. (2)

3.14 What are match codes and which button is used to identify match codes?
Match codes allows the user to select a valid possible entry from a list of possible entries (also called a pick list). This is identified when a Possible Entries button appears at the end of the field containing the cursor. When this button is selected, a selection box is displayed, from which you can select the required entry. (2)

3.15 Which transaction code can be used to run an authorisation report if you receive an authorisation error?
