Prerequisites:
Students taking this course must have completed Writing 1 and 2 courses.

Course Description:
Writing 3 Course is to qualify intermediate sophomores of FFL, UTE to compose welldeveloped short essays. Students will learn how to develop a paragraph into an essay with an introduction, two or three body paragraphs, and a conclusion in both unity and coherence. Then they practice writing essays in five genres including description, narration, opinion, comparison and contrast, and cause and effect on current topics. Through the writing process, students will be provided with practical and efficient skills, strategies, and knowledge that are necessary for their academic success in content coursework later. Cooperation is also highlighted for students fuller development.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to Critically analyze and evaluate sample essays for the benefits of writing development Develop ideas for their own writing

Put the ideas into paragraphs with varied sentences and concrete language Write essays of description, narration, opinion, comparison and contrast, and cause and effect in both unity and coherence Review, revise, and publish their essays Enhance cooperation and responsibility for their writing

Course Policies
Students are required to Attend class regularly. No more than 3 absences are allowed. Special cases must be discussed with me for consideration. Carefully prepare for and participate fully in every class meeting (Absences and lack of active participation will affect the grade) Work collaboratively in group for writing projects and actively participate in and comment your friends essays. Diligently practice writing both in group and on their own and punctually turn in all the assignment. Be honest (Any kind of plagiarism will result in Zero for that writing)
