Every year, the show draws an increasingly qualitative professional public, becoming the main discovering and exchanging platform for European and French trendsetters. More than ever this year, we invests in content, through the BAR ROUGE conferences as well as 2011-2012 product innovations at LE BAR DES INNOS, and new consumption ways as defined by brands, through LE SALON. And for the first time this year, COCKTAILS SPIRITS celebrates and awards the best of each category presented during the show. Moscow It takes a pretty special place to keep Roman mixing drinks in Moscow rather than globe-trotting, his other passion. Finding it also requires a keen sense of direction because Roman has set up shop in a former teahouse in Moscows Chinatown. Now, la crme de la crme of the bartending world are beating a path to his door, when they can locate the basement entrance under the noodle shop.

Its a unique spot in Russia, where the mixologist uses tea and other homemade concoctions to deliver an impeccable cocktail list. Roman will share his experiences in Russia, in what is undoubtedly one of Moscows most fabulous watering holes. Il fallait que lendroit dtienne une magie toute particulire pour que Roman reste derrire son bar muscovite plutt que de sadonner son autre passion, le voyage. Le trouver requiert un certain sens de lorientation, car Roman sest install dans un ancien salon de th au cur du Chinatown de Moscou. Dornavant, le nec plus ultra des pratiquants de la mixologie mondiale se fraie un chemin sa porte, quand ils arrivent localiser lentre au sous-sol dun restaurant asiatique. Dans cet endroit unique en Russie, le mixologue utilise le th et dautres produits faits maison dans son impeccable liste de cocktails. Behind the door, the 30-seat bar focuses on quality libations with a twist on customer service. The Parlour is the place everyone is talking about in Germany. A shout-out to the lion of Hamburg, Jrg Meyer, who recommended we invite Yared to the Bar Rouge stage to tell you all about it. Ctait inluctable. Yared ne pouvait y chapper, il devait le faire. Et il la fait avec brio ! Ce personnage haut en couleurs sait instinctivement crer lenvironnement parfait pour la dgustation de cocktails Francfort, peut-tre mme dans toute lAllemagne, voire toute lEurope. Nous avons fait connaissance avec Yared il y a un an Roomers, o il dirigeait dune main de matre une opration huile avant de franchir le pas en ouvrant son propre bar, le dsormais clbre Parlour de Francfort. Lentre discrte, quelque peu en retrait de la grande rue, nest pas un simple hommage au speakeasy mais laccs un monde qui se fait connatre de bouche oreille, cest--dire travers le marketing gurilla, un art que Yared matrise depuis des lustres. Derrire cette porte, donc, lheureux venu trouve un bar dune trentaine de places tout concentr sur la qualit de ses libations, en apportant un soin particulier au service. Le Parlour est sur toutes les lvres en Allemagne. Et un clin dil de remerciement au lion de Hambourg Jrg Meyer qui nous a conseill dinviter Yared au Bar Rouge pour vous en parler.

We met Yared a year ago in Roomers, where he kept the operation smoothly ticking over before making the giant leap of opening his own bar, Frankfurts favorite Parlour.

Osaka Who knew such a gem would be nestling among the rough bars on the bustling streets of Osakas Shinsaibashi district?The Hiramatsu Bar is simply incredible. After you finally spot its discreet sign, a rickety elevator takes you into the presence of one of Japans best vintage spirit collections, boasting 1950s blended scotches, even older single malts, pre-war cognacs, and other old spirits that would be quite at home in a museum. But the venerable aqua vitaes on the small bars wooden shelves are not for show. Theyre all for you to taste! Because life is too short to settle for nothing but the best, WORLD CLASS invites the worlds greatest bartenders and mixologists to push the boundaries of their imagination and conceive true tasting experiences. WORLD CLASS is an international competition, celebrating luxury drinks, cocktail culture and the art of bartending, while seeking for the worlds best bartender, under the knowing eye of a jury composed of gurus of the bar world. The quest for the worlds best bartender begins with national competitions in each participating country, which select the most talented and inspirational bartenders. This crme de la crme of international bartenders then competes in the DIAGEO RESERVE WORLD CLASS international finale. Throughout all the steps of the competition, brands ambassadors, master distillers and master blenders share their knowledge about production processes, and the unique heritages of each brand of the DIAGEO RESERVE collection : Ketel One vodka, Tanqueray No.TEN gin, Grand Marnier liquor, Johnnie Walker Blue Label scotch and Zacapa rum.

During the Cocktails Spirits show, in the WORLD CLASS room, Frances 10 finalists compete to win their ticket to the international finale, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of July, gathering bartenders from more than 50 different countries.
