Course Description: Course provides a working knowledge of computers and Windows environment with an emphasis on word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, presentation and online software tools. Course designed to focus on student computing needs. Required Text Books and Materials: Skills for Success with Microsoft Office 2010, Volume 1. Second Edition Townsend, Ferrett, Hain, Vargas, 2013, Pearson, ISBN: 13-978-0-13-294032-3 Storage: You will need a 1G or larger Flash for storage of course work and files. Digital Artifacts only! Class time will be provided for practicing concepts as well as working through assignments; however, additional time outside of class will be essential to improve skills and complete the assignments. Homework/Lab Assignments: All assignments must be completed and handed in on time at the beginning of class. Work must be complete. I will not accept a partially completed assignment. Late work will be accepted on a case-by-case basis only. Your work must be your own. Cheating will result in a grade of 0 for the applicable assignment; further disciplinary action, including assigning a failing grade (F) for the entire course may also be taken. Missed work will result in a grade of 0 for the assignment. Exceptional circumstances should be discussed with the instructor in advance. Homework Assignments must be emailed and properly identified. If they are not identified properly you will NOT receive credit.
