The McDowell County Board of Realtors met on August 6, 2013. Steve
Bush was introduced as the newMcDowell County Chamber of Commerce
director. He shared some interesting facts about the county. Currently,
the population is around 44,000 and the average age is early to mid
40s. Three thousand homes are on the market at this time and rental
properties number around 500. There are 3500 companies in the county
and 3800 veterans make their home here.
