Introduction
Many systems have claimed to make you rich in just a few short weeks of laying horses. Virtually every one of these systems, has ended up failing due to the methods not being properly covered. There is much more to a workable system

than just picking the losing horse. When you purchased this manual, you were probably very skeptical about it. I had tried most of the systems available, on ebay as well as elsewhere, especially the ones pumped out from South Africa and most will give you their particular take on selecting the losing horse. Time and time again people are conned by purchasing useless systems, which promise so much and deliver so little. What you are about to read and learn in this manual turns everything that you thought you knew about laying horses, on its head. Virtually 99% of gamblers severely neglect learning how to turn their hobby into a full time living. Very few give you the secret of making a consistent profit and all of them leave you feeling frustrated! There are virtually no e-books out there, which teach you how to successfully lay horses!! Up until now............. Fortunately for you, the author is one of the most experienced, professional punters around, when it comes to the art of laying horses. This is the purpose in writing this method, Not only to give you the most comprehensive system available anywhere for the selection of losing horses but also to give you the secret of making a consistent profit time after time, just as the bookmakers do. This method will educate and open your eyes about laying horses which have never been revealed and over time will

consistently send your bank balance into overdrive. Betfair will be the betting exchange used in this manual. Most of the punters on Betfair are mug punters. With this manual, you will be on your way to becoming an elite punter and literally milk the "mug punters" just as the bookmakers do day after day...... Since the inception of betfair in 2000 it has opened up doors for ordinary people to become the bookmaker, the opportunities involved in laying horses provides us with a scope for an unlimited potential for wealth without doing anything except copying our friend the bookmaker and we all know he always wins in the end......... Ross William Turner

A Betting Exchange
In simple terms a betting exchange is a website that brings together punters who want to place a bet with people who will accept that bet. This is called person to person betting. I place my money into the market and another person accepts my bet which is then called a matched bet. They have become hugely popular in recent years and vast sums of money change hands each day. As much as 1m on a single race can be traded but on average its around the 600k mark. This still represents a huge opportunity for us the "bookmaker" to profit. The main exchanges is:www.betfair.com

Betfair Introduction
Since Betfair was launched in June 2000 it has become the largest online betting, company in the UK and the largest bet exchange in the world. Betfair currently has over 1,000,000 punters and a turnover in excess of 50m week. A bet exchange allows punters to bet at odds set and requested by other punters rather than by a bookmaker. Members can make both 'Back' bets (normal bets on a selection to win) and 'Lay' bets(bets on the opposite side of the Back, against the selection), thereby eliminating the traditional bookmaker. Betfair uses decimal odds, which are easier to calculate with than fractional odds. Its bookmaking model brings together two counterparties with opposing views, and thus removes the need for a bookmaker's markup or overround. As a result, the odds are up to 20% better than bookmakers' odds, according to Betfair. Punters are able to offer odds based on their own opinion rather than on a set bookmakers' margin. Betfair charge a commission on all winning bets, which is set at 5% of the net winnings for most markets, although according to how much a client wagers on the site, it is possible to reduce the amount of commission paid to as low as 2%. In February 2006 Betfair launched a new interface, including current live scores of in-play soccer matches, jockey silks and horse form, and an 'express view' in which only the

currently available back odds are viewable. Betfair launched its own radio service, Betfair Radio, in March 2007 available via its website and on the telephone. Betfair Radio broadcasts horse racing commentary, results and sports news seven days a week from the studios at their headquarters in Hammersmith.

Betfair Userguide
The best thing to do is to go to www.betfair.com and familiarise yourself with the site. Really take the time to familiarise yourself with the way the site operates. It will pay dividends later on. Although we will cover the basics in this guide. You will need to sign up for a Betfair account and deposit funds when you are ready to start. You can use a VISA or DELTA card or PAYPAL or wire transfer. Be aware though Betfair take 1.5% commission from credit card transfers.

Laying Horses on Betfair

Just for this quick guide let's have a look at the 3.45pm at Bangor, 29th December 2007, see the screenshot below:-

The first thing you will see is that the odds are expressed as decimal points rather than fractional. It may seem confusing at first but I can assure you that it will become second nature very quickly. Decimal odds include both the stake and the return so, for example, traditional fractional odds of 4/1 would be expressed as decimal odds of 5. Similarly, 6.5 would be 11/2, ie 11 divided by 2 = 5.5 plus one for the stake = 6.5. An important one to fix in your mind is decimal odds of 2, ie evens. That means that anything less than 2 is odds on. Now, have a look at the blue side of the market. This is the Back side and is where all the "Mug" Punters will go to back a horse to win. You see that Thames is available to back at odds of 5.9. The figure of 73 below the odds tells you how much is available to back at that price. The pink side of the market is the Lay side. This is where you need to focus and I can assure you that it is a very easy

mistake to make when starting out to back the horse instead of lay it, so BEWARE! Once you have layed a couple of horses you will soon get the hang of it and realise this is where the money is! You will see that the odds to lay are slightly higher than those available to back. The figure below the lay odds is the amount of money backers have placed on the horse to win and you can lay up to that. This means that the bet is complete and cannot be cancelled. To the right of the pink square are the unmatched back bets waiting for someone to lay them. Now then, let's lay a bet on this race. We do that by clicking on the pink square for the horse we think is going to lose. Let's lay Killard Point at the odds currently on offer of 2.92. Click on the pink square and a new frame opens to the right as per the screenshot below:-

You can see from the screen shot that we have decided to lay Killard Point for 20 at odds of 2.92. You can also see that our liability is 38.40, so If Killard Point went on to win we would lose our liability, but if it went on to lose we would win 20 minus our commission which in total would be 19. That is really the basics of laying I won't go in to too much deatail here as most of you are probably already familiar with it, hence the purchase of this ebook. If you need anymore help with regards to betfair head over to there website and go through the userguide.

Why Form Should Not be Used As The Only Tool Pick Horses To Lose
Let me be candid with you for a second, if form was a clear

guide to pick winners or losers, every man and his dog would be doing it and all the bookmakers would be put out of business. That just isn't the case here while form is an important factor is is definatly not the only one. Form is a horses past performance. As important as form is to picking losing horses, it is not important enough to be solely relied on to determine the outcome of a race. In saying that the "Mug Punters" usually rely only on form or what they've seen or heard to help select winners. Very few horses can be relied on solely based on the consistency of its wins throughout its career. This is very good news for us as it is for the bookmaker. The Key here is to look through all aspects of what it takes for a horse to win or lose a race. We will be looking at everything and I mean everything. There are plenty of systems out there that say you can pick your losers in 10 minutes and then sit back and relax to count the cash. Let me ask you, if it was your money wouldnt you want to know that you have covered every possible angle before committing to the final submit button not just 10 mins form work??

Main Resource Racing Post

The Racing Post www.racingpost.co.uk the most famous horse racing form guide and paper available. This is the form and information guide that I use and it will be the one that you will use. You will find various form guides as well as selections and statistics on every race and every horse. The Racing Post is so much more than a form guide and is invaluable with several peices of information we require to build an accurate picture in assesing which horse or horses we will be laying.

Click the sign up button to create an account which you will need to access this information. This will only take a couple of minutes.

Right once you have been signed up lets get down to business...... What we are going to do now is to work our way through

every race and every horse to find our ideal races to bet on. This is the most critical part of our selections and is the cornerstone on which this method is based. These are just some of the things we will be covering :-

Form Ground Course Distance Trainer Jockey Class Weight

This is really the most comprehensive guide to laying horses out there today.

The Selection Process

We will be using 12 Filters to success here and this really is covering every aspect of laying horses and will provide us with peace of mind and a very healthy bank balance. Go through the full race card for todays racing and use these 12 Filters:The 1 Filter: Ensure that the said horse lies within the top 3 in terms of betting forecast. Ensure the odds are less than 5/1 or 6.0 on Betfair.
st

The 2 Filter: If the horse is favourite add 2 Marks. If horse is second/joint first favourite add 1 Mark. If the horse lies outside first two betting positions subtract 1 Mark. The 3 Filter: If the horse has ran in the last 5 days add 1 Mark. If the horse hasnt ran in the last 5 days subtract 1 Mark. The 4 Filter: If the horse has won in his last 3 runs award 2 Marks. If the horse hasn't won in his last 3 runs subtract 1 Mark. The 5 Filter: If the horse has won over this ground before (i.e. hard/soft/good) award 3 Marks. If horse has won over similar ground add 1 Mark. If horse hasnt won over same/similar ground subtract 2 Marks. The 6 Filter: If the horse has won at this course before award 2 Marks. nd If horse has came 2 at this course award 1 Mark. If horse has done neither, subtract 2 Marks. The 7 Filter: If the horse has won over this distance award 3 Marks. nd If horse has came 2 over this distance award 1 Mark. Subtract 2 Marks if horse has done neither. The 8 Filter: If the horse has won at this class or higher award 2 Mark.

nd

If the horse has came 2 at this class or higher award 1 Mark. Subtract 2 Marks if horse has done neither. The 9 Filter: If horse is Postdata Pick according to Racing Post, then add 2 Marks. If not then add 0 Marks. The 10 Filter: Go to Racing Post tips section. If the horse has more than 70% of the tips in its favour award 3 Marks. Less than 70%, but greater than 40% award 2 Marks. Less than 40%, subtract 1 Marks. Less than 30% subtract 2 Marks. The 11 Filter: Go to Racing Post Statistics section If the trainer has more than 20% strike rate overall award 2 Marks. If the trainer has less than 20% strike rate overall subtract 1 Mark. The 12 Filter: Go to Racing Post Statistics section If the jockey has more than 15% strike rate overall award 2 Marks. If the jockey has less than 15% strike rate overall subtract 1 Mark. Right we now have a very comprehensive list of whats what. We should weed the list down to a handful of selections now

and any horse with 3 Marks or more leave alone.

IMPORTANT
***We Only Lay 1 Horse Per Day*** This is important because we dont want to be getting involved in laying lots and lots of horses. This is the other major benefit we have over the bookmaker, we can pick and choose which horses we lay, he has to accept bets on every horse. Right lets get on with some examples so we can see exactly how to go about it. These are all horses I have laid and profited from.

Example 1
Wolves 19:00 Dont be put off by the small field if you do your research properly you will be confident in your convictions. See screen shot 1:-

After going through the selection process I picked out two horses A Wish For You and Bahamian Lad. After going through the 12 filters I came up with this final score......... A Wish For You +3 Marks....... Avoid Bahamian Lad -10 Marks........ Lay!!!!! I managed to lay him at 5/2 which is around 3.5. Lots of people ask when is the best time to place your lay, and I

always say wait until the very last minute, just in case of withdrawls. Obviously if your main rival is withdrawn at the last minute then the chances are the horse you laid will win...... Thats just the nature of the business so if you wait until as late as possible then you can avoid such problems. I will go into this in more detail later. Anyway the result................. You can use many resources to find out the results the two main ones are www.gg.com/racing/latest_results.php and http://horses.sportinglife.com/Results/ for this I used gg but use whichever you prefer:-

As you can see Bahamian Lad came 2nd but only just he

nearly finished 3rd!!! Great news for us and especially me as I am now up to the 500 a lay level. Be wary though you will not be able to get anymore than that matched due to liquidity so once you reach the top level stick with it and you will be giving up the day job to become a full time bookmaker!!!!! We can see here he was easily beaten by a length and a half and only just managed to hang onto second from newcomer Dunmore Dodger!!! Right lets have a look at some comments in running......

You can see here, that he was headed well over 1 furlong

out, to be honest with you I only check the results these days, but I do keep a record on an excel spreadsheet for every bet I place. As I said this is my business and I have run it as such since day one there is no point in even doing this if you are not serious about it. Lets go through the selection process step by step with screenshots, so if your a newbie you can see exactly where to get the information from and how to utuilse it to the best of your advantage.

Example 2 31/12/2007 1.30 pm Uttoxeter

Right log into the Racing Post and click on todays card:-

You can see here that I have highlighted the 1.30 at Uttoxeter open it up and you will see this :-

After you've opened it up you will see this. Here is all the information you will ever need. Get a pen and paper and lets go through the system. You can see here that we have three horses to look at. Alfasonic the favourite, Negus De Beaumont and Triple Mint. As you look at the Racing Post interface you can see

Number, Form, Horse, Trainer, Age, Weight and Jockey. Next to the horses name on the right you can see numbers. Theses are how many days it has been since the horse last ran. Under the form you can see the horses past performance. Lets look at Alfasonic in his last race there is a P. This mean he was pulled up by the jockey. Lets look deeper, so we have P-41P. I have already said P is for pulled up so for the last four outings he has been pulled up twice, won and came 4th. To find out more you have to click on the horses name and it will bring up a new screen like this :-

This page gives us an in depth inside into the horse and gives us more clues as to how he will perform and how he has performed under certain conditions. Going from left to right you can see that there are 9 headings. Under the first one it says video, there are four videos of Alfasonic in action. Then it has date, race conditions, weight, race outcome and jockey. These are the things that interest us and will provide us with the information we require. Lets see if Alfasonic has won over todays ground. If you look at the earlier screenshot you will see todays ground is HEAVY this information is displayed on the right hand side of the time and race type. If we look under the race conditions we can see he has won over todays conditions. See the screen shot :-

In the highlighted area we can see he has won on heavy ground on 4/1/2007 at Lingfield. Onto the next filter. We can see here he has only raced at uttoxeter twice and not won or came 2nd so onto the next filter. Lets see if he has won or came second at this distance if we look at the earlier screenshot we can see that Alfasonic has a D next to his name, this tells us that he has won at this distance. So on to the next filter. Class, we can see todays race is a class 4 race and we can also see that Alfasonic has won a class 3 race which is a more competitive than todays so on to the next filter. Look back at the earlier shot and you will see the postdata at

the bottom that says postdata selection and we can see that Alfasonic isnt the postdata selection so onto the next filter. Next is straightforward add the tips up of your selection in this case Alfasonic has 4 tips then to get the percentage just divide 4 by the total number of tips which is 14 then multiply that by 100 and it gives you the percentage which is 28.5%. Right onto the next filter. To get the Trainer and Jockey percentages go to the stats button on the race page and it will bring up a page like this. Obviously make a note of the trainer and jockeys names. So for Alfasonic the trainer is A King and the jockey is Robert Thornton :-

Right we can see that A King has 13% strike rate overall and the jockey Robert Thornton has an 8% strike rate. So after going through all 12 filters I have come up with this

final tally:Alfasonic +6 Marks ......... Avoid Negus De Beaumont +12 Marks ......... Avoid Triple Mint -2 Marks ......... Lay!!! Lets check out the Result :-

As we can see Triple Mint was a well beaten 3rd 24 length's behind the winner. The method in this book are so powerful and thorough we can be confident that our lay will perform the way we want it to and be well beaten. Especially as we are only laying one horse a day we can be confident 95% of

our lays will lose!! Great news for us and especially our bank balance, because at the end of the day we are in it for the money and nothing else. Lets look at some comments of the race :-

In the comments it says he was outpaced 5 fences out which is what we want to hear To be honest I dont check this information anymore even when one of my lays wins I just move on to the next one, the next day. Its best not to get to

hung up on the events even if you win or lose. Its best to keep an even keel because if you enjoy your wins too much you will really feel it when a selection you have laid goes on to win. It will happen, so if you keep yourself level you will be able to enjoy the longevity of your success and take the losses on the chin. Lets have a look at one more example then I will go on to talk about staking plans and the method I use. It isn't very difficult and is a steady staking plan, like with any business you need to have a grip on your finances and especially as your using your own money. Lots of other system sellers have crazy staking plans like chasing losses, which is a definate NO!!!! Only you really appreciate your own money. I will go into this later so dont worry. Anyway another example :-

Example 3 31/12/2007 1.40 pm Warwick

Go to the racing post todays card:-

Open it up and you will once again see the information screen :-

Go through the all the horses up to 5/1 and go through the twelve filters using the information to hand :-

Don't forget to use the stats as well for the trainer and jockey win % rates :-

After going through all the filters I came up with this... William Bonney +10 Marks ......... Avoid Overstrand -1 Marks ......... Lay!!! Presenting Copper +3 Marks ......... Avoid We can see quite clearly that the horse we will lay will be Overstrand at -1 Marks. We can be confident that our selection will do as required and not win the race. He was priced at the tissue of 3/1 but he drifted as far out to 5/1, still its in the peramaters of our method so lets have a look at the result :-

3rd......... Nice result for us and terrible for our other friends on betfair. He was easily beaten by 13 and 3/4 lengths. Lets have a look at some comments in running :-

Here we see that he made some costly errors and because he hasn't been performing the trainer decided to switch him to fences late in his carreer, which is not a good idea. So good news for us. Enough of the examples lets head onto the staking plan and money management. You can see here how powerful the method is and that it will constantly perform under any circumstances. I could go on and on with the examples but there is no point, when you get into using it for yourselves you will be amazed and delighted by the results....

Staking Plans
As I said before the staking plan is very simple whatever your starting bank is just lay each selection using 1% of it. Examples :Starting Bank 10'000 Each Lay will be 100 Starting Bank 5000 Each Lay will be 50 Starting Bank 1000 Each Lay will be 10 You get the point its very easy and keeps your money safe. What I do though is at the end of every month I withdraw half of my profit and keep the other half in using my new total thus increasing my laying stake. Example :Starting Bank 1000 End Of Month Bank 1300 New Month Bank 1150 New Lay Stake 11.50

Afterword
I know this doesn't sound like a lot but let me tell you at the end of year it will add up and you will be on your way to ceating the kind of wealth, you want and deserve. Im not going to talk about money or tell you what I'm earning off betair. If your really interested email me and I'll let you

know. I beleive my money is nobody's bussiness but mine and I honestly think that when you start earning through betfair I suggest you keep it to yourself. I will say I am at the top level of laying horses after 6 years and laying each individual selection for 500 a time. I have tried to lay for more but it is just too much aggravation trying to get 1000 or 2000 matched so I capped it off at 500 and it makes more than a healthy living. After using the system and getting famailiar with it you will be able to pick out your selection within 45 mins to 1hour but really the rewards far outweigh the time. I hope you have enjoyed reading this method and I hope you use it to profit from laying just as I do. As expected here is my rule of gambling: **NEVER BET MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD** Ross William Turner.
