EVIL ALTARS

Introduction
I am taking you through a journey to try and unearth some of the truths of our fathers altars (Kabasa, Were, Mugadi etc). Some of the examples given on these pages are from Africa including my own Clan; Banghinghondo, and are a reality of what truly happened in certain occasions. I also give examples from the Bible and what has been indicated herein is a revelation from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of God is our Teacher in all the matters that concern the bible. I welcome you to go with me through these pages and my prayer is that you will benefit somehow from this topic. MAY THE SPIRIT OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST GIVE YOU UNDERSTANDING AS YOU READ THESE PAGES. WHAT ALTARS ARE?

An Altar is a place of worship.

1. This is a place where people meet to worship God or Deities. It is a very special place where human beings give or plead allegiance to their gods. 2. An altar is LITERALLY a structure on which sacrifices are offered. It is a place where men build to offer sacrifices to gods.

3. An Altar is a link between the visible world and the invisible world. It is a place where people come into to communion with the SPIRIT OF GOD or with the spirits of the dead. People build Altars dedicated to their loved ones to continue to have communion with them, and that is why we talk about Fathers' Altars. When we refer to the term Fathers' Altars we are referring to our dead Ancestors.(our fathers who are long gone Lamentation 5:7 bible ref ). We will seek to identify the positive and the negative aspects of our Fathers' Altars.

4. Altars are also gates to the spiritual realm. Depending on the kind of altar that people have built in a place the atmosphere of that place will be determined by the Altars therein. It means the Altars in that place allow the powers that be to rule in that place. Godly Altars allow the Spirit of God to rule over a people. In the bible we find a scripture in the book of Psalm 24:7. The priests are commanding the gates to be lifted up that the King of Glory to come in. One of the ways that we can command the gates to be lifted up that the King of Glory may come in is to Build Godly Altars because they are gate to the realm of the spirit. In the Bible there is an occurrence where by a man called Jacob was travelling to his relatives place from his father's home. He came to a place where he spent the night. While he slept he had a dream that from that place where he slept there was a ladder from the grounds that he slept on going all the way to heaven and there was a traffic of Angels ascending and descending on it.( Genesis 28:12). On top of the ladder the Lord God stood above it, and he spoke to Jacob. This is a place where his grandfather Abraham had built an Altar before. ( Genesis 12:8) We notice that the promises that God have given to Abraham are the same promises God gives to Jacob. When Jacob woke up in the morning he confessed that God was in that place and that place was a Gate To Haven. I believe this was because of the altar that Abraham had built to God. The place became a Gateway to heaven. Some of the communities reactivate their Ancestors' Altars during special festivals during the year and open gates to the spirits of the dead in a region. These altars are reactivated during special gate of time to allow the spirit of their dead ancestors to continue to perpetuate their will. Where I come from in Butaleja district; there is a tribe called the Banyole. When they want to communicate to their dead Ancestors they visit tribal altars to give extravagant worship by song and dance. When they do so, some communication takes place. In one case a spiritual ritual was carried out by the Bahinghondo, ( a Clan where I come from) that lasted for a week. This was done because things were not going on well with the various family members. This was done in the early 1990s. I remember vividly what took place at the late Kabasa ancestral ground!. A bull was slaughtered, blood smeared on the participants faces, the leaking on a WHITE Bone, planting a Mutuba tree which is Now an Altar and so forth. From that time, to date, there are many issues that have befallen the family members. You may argue that its natural, but remember We reap what we sow. I want you really to see the tragedy these people set the clan members into?? We must wake up and fight a good fight; we will win because of the blood of the Lamb of God.

5. Altars are special places where people draw spiritual strength. Man is always looking for inspirations and one place that people go to get inspiration or spiritual strength is at the altar. People go to the Church which is an Altar to get new strength and after that the truth of the matter is, something happens to them. In the book of Isaiah 40:31. the Lord says that those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. We wait upon the Lord in prayer at the altar. Families will gather together on special occasions to remember their loved departed ones to get inspiration from them.Once a year people will come together for a memorial service of a dead parent around the grave or at home to receive strength from the spirit of the dead parent. In most cases people believe that when they gather together in memory of the dead they become more untied than before. 6. An Altar is also a place where people make covenants. We see people entering into covenants at Altars. God made a covenant with Abraham at the Altar that Abraham had raised and offered sacrifices in the book of Genesis 15:9-18. People make marriage covenants on Altars. Our fathers cut or entered into covenants on the altars they built and these convents are still at work even today decades after they were made. In the book of Isaiah 28:14-15. it says the ruler had made covenant with death and agreement with hell. Most people when faced with some problems will visit the altars of their dead ancestors to try and wipe out the problems. Even in these modern days, when doctors cannot solve a certain medical problem they will tell the patient to go back home and try and get a solution from the elders at home. In most cases as in the above story we have looked at about the deaf and dump boy these elders will consult their dead ancestors and strengthen the old covenants that our fathers had. This is because they have made a covenants with the dead that when a problem or challenges comes it shall not touch them.

We cannot ignore our Fathers Altars as long as we are alive. We will seek to unearth the truth of this matter and try and do what is right. Lets take this journey together to try and unearth the truth together:

ALTARS IN THE BIBLE

In the Bible we will find Altars that were raised by people to God. The first mention of Altar in the Bible is found in the book of Genesis 8.20. This altar was built by Noah after God had brought him out of the ARK after the floods. Noah offered sacrifices of clean animals and birds on this altar which pleased God. In the Bible we find the mention of Father's Altar in the book of Judges 6:25.(vs 25.That same night the Lord said to him, " Take the second bull from your father's herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father's altar to Baal and cut down the Ashe rah pole beside it. ) In this passage of scripture we learn that our fathers have Altars that they might have built to other gods. Earlier God had commissioned a young man called Gideon to go out and fight the enemies of the Israelites. It is important to note that the enemies of Israel worshipped the god called Baal. Gideon was to go and fight them but before he went for that battle he had to make things right back at home. As I mentioned earlier Altars allows the powers that be to rule in a region. The god of the enemies of Israel had a right in the home of Gideon because his father had built an altar to him. It would have been dangerous for Gideon to go and fight against the midians who worshipped Baal while his father was also worshipping the same god through the altar to Baal. I believe this could have amounted to what we call treason and just as treason is a serious crime in most countries and punishable by death, so the same case would have applied to Gideon. God who was sending him had to instruct him to first of all destroy that Altar that could have caused him to be defeated in the battle field. There were also other patriarchs in the bible who built altars to God and others who built wrong altars that were not godly. Godly Altars: 1.Abraham raised Godly Altars in the book of Genesis.(Gen.12:7,13:4,22:9). 2.His son Isaac (Gen.26:25) and grandson Jacob (Gen.33:20,Gen:35:1-3) also followed the way of their father Abraham and raised Altars to God that pleased God. Ungodly Altars: In the book of 1 Kings 12:25-33. We find a King called Jeroboam who build a satanic Altar in Judea which caused the Israelites to sin against God. In the new testament we find an altar to Artemis in Acts.19:24-35. which was against the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ in Ephesus.

Heaven: In heaven there is an Altar of the Lamb of God that is before the throne of God. Revelation 8:1-5. These are just but a few examples of Altars in the bible. God is pleased when human beings raise proper Altars for him in our homes and families.

HOW ALTARS AFFECT PEOPLES LIVES

Altars affect peoples lives both positively and negatively: As we have seen in the case of Gideon in Judges 6. The father's altar that his father had at home affected the Israelites negatively in those days and for them to get freedom from their oppressors that Altar had to be destroyed. The bible records in that scripture that the Midian power oppressed them. The Altars that are in place may be oppressive if they are not godly Altars. The Altars that Abraham and his son and grandson raised were Altars that attracted the blessings of God not only in their generations but also the generations that followed them. Even up to date the Israelites are still blessed because of the Altars that were raised to God by their forefathers. The Altar that Jeroboam raised in Judea caused the Israelites to sin against God and God punished them. Altars cause people to behave in a certain way which can be normal or abnormal. The bibles says that our father who are long gone sinned against God and we bear their punishment. (Lamentation 5:7). People suffer a great deal because of the altars that their fathers left behind. Our fathers worshipped the gods of their tribes through dead ancestors. We said that Altars are places that the living had communion with the spirit world. When we have communication with the dead through the altars of our fathers who are long gone we open doors and avenues of curses on our lives. As Abraham and his descendants received blessings through the Altars that they built the same is also true about the Altars of our fathers. I have a true story of a family where the parents died and were buried. One day people came and were singing and dancing using African drums. One of the family members told them that the dead are not happy when they use the drums they never listened too. In that home there was a girl who was insane and as the drums continued to beat she killed a baby by trampling the baby. Here we learn

that through certain things we can open doors of death in our homes. In this family the altars of the fathers were still operational. Nobody had dealt with them therefore the will of the dead was at work. In other places just as in the case in the book of Acts 19. There are Altars that are against the Gospel of Christ who is the hope of all Glory. People in these places live hopeless lives and note; unless something is done they suffer a great deal. We find places where people are drug addicts and drunkards and nothing seems to work in such places. These places could be towns, cities or even countries. In Africa most countries are in such bad state that all we know about those countries are wars and bloodshed, drug trafficking and all manner of crimes. If we do our investigations of what is wrong in these places or nations; we will find that the altars in these places have everything to do with the happenings there. The same applies to places were Godly altars are, you will find a people who are sober and upright. Things work out well in these places. We need to identify the Altars that our fathers built by checking what are the trends of our lives. Are the negatives outweighing the positives? For every positive thing our fathers did, we reap positively and for every negative thing they did, we reap the negative. Lets remember the will of a person comes to effect after that person dies.

HOW TO DEAL WITH ALTARS.

How do we deal with our father's Altars? First and foremost we need to understand where and what our fathers were involved in during their days. Whom did they worship? Whom and where did they offer sacrifices? Did they cut covenants on Altars? We need to do some sort of investigations of the issues of our families. One way of doing so is to try and identify some of what we call weird behaviors in our families as mentioned earlier. As we do these investigations we need to bear in mind that Altars is a spiritual matter and it has to be dealt with spiritually. The reason we are to do deep searching is because we will need to do deep repentance of the sins of our fathers.

In the book of Daniel 9. When Daniel understood why the Israelite were in captivity he took it upon himself to bring repentance of the sins that had caused the Israelites to be taken onto captivity in Babylon for over 70 years. He did what we call identification repentance. When we repent we are asking God who bless to forgive us because our fathers sinned against him. We bring a contention of the things that our fathers believed in and renounce them before God and man in prayer. We also identify what were the covenants that our fathers cut on these altars and we reject and renounce them using the standards of the word of God. It is important to note that some of the believes of our fathers are still in us, so before we bring the identification repentance we must make sure that we ourselves are right with God. We take a lesson from the book of Judges 6:18-24. whereby before Gideon went for battle he himself built a personal altar to God and called it the Lord is peace even though there was no peace in Israel at that time. He first reconciled himself to God even before he destroyed His father's Altar then he was ready to go for battle. Dealing with Altars is a project that we need to involve God from the beginning to the end. Some of the things that our fathers did nobody knows them therefore we need God to reveal them to us as we pray. We said Altars allow powers that be to rule over a people and places. We also need to identify principalities and powers that were allowed or enthroned over our lives and family after which by using the word and authority of God vested on us we dethrone such principalities and powers. We break the influence that these principalities and powers have had over our lives and our loved ones, we also renounce the spirits that have been at work that were supervising the altars of our fathers'. (i.e spirits of witchcraft, drunkenness Antichrist, Ancestral spirits and etc.) Then as Gideon and his friends did, you destroy, overthrow, uproot and cast down all ungodly altars. After doing so you build and plant Godly Altars to the true living God. You invite God to be God in your affairs and that of you family and everything in it. Just as Gideon invited his friends its important to invite servants of God to help you deal with the Altars of the fathers.

MAY THE SPIRIT OF GOD GIVE YOU WISDOM AND REVELATION TO DEAL WITH THE ALTARS OF YOUR FATHERS:
