Collect hardware and host information using Oracle collection tools, and provide assessment findings and remediation steps required to upgrade hosts to Oracle best practices. Solaris assessment; Review operating system collector output; providing recommendations for areas such as patching needs, system configuration, boot environment best practice, review network and storage failover health, and perform a review of OS logs. Provide a health-check score for each host analyzed, with risk factors scored Symantec assessment; if Solaris hosts run Symantec foundation suite, a host collection tool from Symantec is run to provide data for SORT processing and a recommendations report for patching, and availability recommendations.

Oracle Solaris Virtualization and migration Service

Provide a technical summary overview of virtualization technologies available from Oracle for T4/T5 based systems. Outline types of hardware candidates and Operating systems available for various migration options, including host, storage, and network post-migration best practices. Review typical consolidation strategies employed by clients, and the necessary architectures to support next generation Greenfield design. Outline roles of Oracle Appliances (system, database, storage, analytic) as they apply to client consolidation goals. Provide asset inventory, provided by client, an analysis for options to move physical Oracle assets to either containerized or logical domain candidates. Deliver build and migration plans for each virtualization candidate type; plans include storage, network and configuration remediation necessary to upgrade source hosts to virtualized destinations. Build POC P2V hardware at client site, or utilize ONX P2V demonstration lab, to provide real-world examples of host migrations to T-series hardware Assist and lead in client P2V migrations.
