1 About Piano Education of Children

Each parent dreams about a successful career for their child. And when parents send their child to professional training, they always have an approximate development plan of their child as a successful pianist: 1) master quality basic knowledge and skills; 2) as a result of initially correct learning prepare a repertoire, play at recitals, competitions and performances, participate as beneficiary in musical foundations, etc.

But unfortunately, not all children are able to successfully walk this path during the 11 or so years of musical school. A mass of problems appears that slows student down in the process of learning. The most common problems are hours of inefficient studies, learning a small number of pieces and falling behind the classmates in technique.

The roots of these problems arent in the lack of talent or insufficient diligence, but in how the child was initially correctly trained to study independently. How correctly hands were positioned, how effectively he was trained to analyze and learn a piece fast without dragging it for months. And at last, how completely all musical means of expression (such as sense of sound timbre, sound movement, harmony, dynamics and balance, sound texture, pedal, intonation and articulations, phrasing and form, musical speech and meter, musical image and artistry) were explained to the child. How the child was trained to express all ideas on the instrument so that his playing would reflect the ideas, so that his playing would be comfortable, and his arms wouldnt strain. In simple words, how correctly the child was trained so that his head and ears could accurately imagine and hear what to do, and hands could correctly play the conceived on the piano.

Our school gives all knowledge that is necessary for a successful pianistic career. With the help of our effective method we build a solid foundation for the development of your child as a successful and talented pianist, we eliminate all gaps in knowledge and teach independent, correct and efficient home practice.

After learning in our school, youll no longer have to search for help of various tutors or private teachers in hope to solve one or the other problem. We clearly set length of studies and guarantee quality professional training.

About the musical means of expression Musical means of expression (MEMs) are sound timbre, sound movement, intonation and weight, musical speech, articulations, harmony, dynamics and balance, sound texture, phrasing and form, meter, emotional image and artistry. When pianist masters all MEMs, he learns to imagine all MEMs

2 maximally brightly, accurately, qualitatively and learns to correctly express ideas on the piano so that his playing could accurately reflect the ideas. So that head and ears could hear correctly and hands play correctly.

If a student doesnt possess MEMs, then he doesnt know how to correctly analyze a piece. When theres no correct piece analysis, i.e. when the task-maximum is a simple analysis of the score, then the stage of learning a piece is delayed for a long time. This happens because a large number of mistakes is learned initially inaccuracies in MEMs, which then are re-learned in the teachers class. This re-learning doesnt give to the student anything, but additional inaccuracies, additional discomfort while playing and strained arms. With incorrect piece analysis all consequent lessons come to an artificial correction of sound to make it quieter or brighter, softer or harder, add some movement to the piece or play it calmer. This is why MEMs are so important, and this is why correct piece analysis on the base of mastered MEMs is so important. The result of correct piece analysis is fast and qualitative learning of the piece, when the only remaining task is simple repetition of the piece until its completely learned. As a consequence pianist learns the main thing independent and efficient learning!
