General Comments

1. In the Sheet Title Plan & Profile (0+000 0+300) Drawing and Table provided are not matching. 2. As per your report total length of bridge is 650 m but in X- section drawing it is seen that 660 m. So you are suggested to confirm this accordingly. 3. In your report under Information of structure in Salient Features Total length of Bridge:- 650m Sapan arrangement = 17/39.2 You are suggested to confirm it throughout the report and drawing. 4. In the sheet No. A-4-4 (General Arrangement) C/C distance = 38.2m therefore overall length of bridge= 38.7*17=649.4 m. You are suggested to confirm this. 5. In the drawing from Ch. 0+820 to Ch. 1+480 what is the significance of providing the DL (design Level) 6. As per drawing DL of approach slab is 100.579m and bridge deck level is 105.38m (Lvl. Difference=4.801m). You are suggested to think about it. 7. Please point out the starting and ending chainage of bridge in report. 8. In geo-technical report there is no test regarding (Phi) then how you arrive this value in design. You are suggested to submit the shear strength of soil. 9. Please verify the unit weight of soil from geo technical investigation and adopted value in design. 10. In the footer of the report at some places it is mentioned that Jhag Nadi bridge Shivnagar, please corrects it.

1. Check the dimension of Bed block as per your drawing. 2. You are suggested to reconfirm the calculated design constants such as K, J and Q for the adopted concrete grade and steel Grade. 3. From your Hydrological report Scour depth is 7 m below from low bed level. You are suggested to check your maximum scour level for abutment. 4. You are suggested to check C.G calculation of Abutment and check dimension of A2 portion as per drawing. 5. How you arrive total dead load and live load from superstructure. You are suggested to check live load calculation once again. Since it is seen that live load is in higher side. 6. Only live load surcharge equivalent backfill is act 0.42 *H not all the backfill. You are suggested to check calculation of earth pressure and calculate separately for surcharge and backfill. Live load surcharge also give vertical effect. 7. In the calculation of Frictional force due to resistance of bearing (temp. Effect), it is mentioned there that width of girder 650 mm but it was the width of bearing. You are suggested to think about the bottom width of girder and bearing. 8. Shear modulus of elastomer range is 0.8 to 1.2. You are suggested to reconfirm it. 9. You are suggested to check your breaking force calculation and accordingly revise your loads and Moments calculations. You are suggested to go through all the calculations of abutment design once again since the calculation of design constants is mismatch. Design of Abutment Well 1. Check your Scour level as per your hydrological study. 2. Check your dimension of length of abutment and diameter of well as per drawing. You are suggested to go through the calculation in conjunction with soil investigation report and Hydrological report.

Bridge Configuration 1. You are suggested to check preliminary section as per IRC 18. It is seen over design. 2. Check for Flange Thickness of bulb T- Girder in Loading Case 3 why it is 48 kN please justify it. 3. In this analysis for the class A wheeled vehicle consider only what about 70 R wheeled vehicle. You are suggested to check for this also. Design of Concrete Flange (deck) 1. Calculate the design constants based on IRC Standards 2. Under moving live load for Bridge and Worst Loading possibilities, you are suggested to do Transverse analysis for this for the assurance of the section for all the cases. 3. You are suggested to think about cross slope of flange of bulb Tgirder. Evaluation of wind Load 1. You are suggested to check your depth of the Prestressed girder, it is 2300 mm. Preliminary Check 1. You are suggested to check overall depth of the girder and revise it. 2. Under the topic, approximate estimation of Prestressing force. You are suggested to check your prestressing force and calculated CG of steel below bottom kern. Selection of Material 1. You are suggested to check Grade of Concrete taken and adopted Tendon and diameter of strand. Check accordingly the Sheths and Ducts.

Evaluation of Pre- stressing Loss

1. You are suggested to first confirm the Tendon and strand dia. And go through the calculation and also show the influence of the profile of tendon in the calculation of loss percentage. 2. Check your initial tension per tendon in the calculation of loss due to setting of anchors. 3. In the calculation of loss due to creep of concrete show the detail of the consideration of the mid span stress also. 4. In the calculation of losses due to shrinkage of concrete it is seen that residual shrinkage strain is zero how. Please justify. 5. In relaxation of Steel, you are suggested to check initial prestressing force. 6. In frictional Losses, you are suggested to check the wobble friction coefficient, K 7. Please justify the recoverable loss due to additional tensioning of strands and when it will execute. 8. Check data for 12T13 as you kept in selection of cable layout and proposed prestressing sequence. Analysis of Critical Mid-Section Girder for Different Stages of Loadings 1. As per your calculation 0.5*fck = 20 but you mentioned that 25Mpa and calculated stress is 20.68 Mpa, hence it is unsafe. You are suggested to go through it again. Construction and Erection of girder to Position 1. You are suggested to do the analysis for the lifting point and provide the detail drawing for the same. 2. You are suggested to provide the detail drawing for the CIP diaphragm and calculations for the same. 3. As report is silent about the cross Prestressing. You are suggested to provide detail calculation and specification of material for the same. 4. You are suggested to go in detail for long term deformation of Prestressed girder after prestressing and after erection of the girder.

Finally 1. You are suggested to go through the design calculation in conjunction with Geo-technical investigation, hydrological Investigation, and including drawing. 2. You are suggested to check the total DL and SIDL (i.e. weight of Prestressing steel, weight of steel (since it is used 24 kN/m3 unit weight of concrete). 3. You are suggested to provide the design and analysis of Bearing. And also show how you arrive to the provided position and spacing of bearing at pier and Abutment. 4. Please provide the reason and references for selecting the type of expansion joint in report. 5. What about the design of approach slab. 6. Report is Silent about grouting of tendon duct after prestressing, please think about it.
