A Commitment to Social Change


Learning That Helps You Make a Difference
Walden Scholars of Change
Erin Manzanares 06 has opened a school in one of the nations poorest counties. She credits her M.S. in Education with giving her the confidence to make La Puerta a reality. The school integrates the arts, sciences, and agriculture with a curriculum grounded in research-based instruction. As a board member of the nonprofit organization Camillus House, Raymond Kayal Sr. is working to give the homeless a second chance. The Ph.D. in Management student cites his Walden experience in helping him to understand that transformation is possible at any stage of life. Reis Woollen, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, works with the elderly in India. She is helping train healthcare providers and family members to care for this aging population in a way that is evidence-based and culturally sensitive.

Two-thirds of Walden students receive some form of financial aid.
