Introduction
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) has become standard engineering practice in many industries as diverse as aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, life sciences, construction and many others. INTEGRATED PRODUCT DESIGN A SOLAR POWERED VEHICLE

The solar challenge offers a unique learning experience by combining design, construction and administration of a world-class solar race team with an intensive inter-disciplinary approach. The Blue Sky Solar Racing team from Toronto University in Canada used CATIA to design their solar car: Thanks to CATIA, we were able to optimize the design of the shell and chassis to make them both lighter. Located on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, the Baseball Research Center is a Center of Excellence for the Science and Engineering of Baseball for both experimental and analytical methods. COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION DESIGN /BUILD COLLABORATION ACROSS THREE CONTINENTS

The aim of this project was to create a functional 3D model of an historic Bleriot XI aircraft in order to manufacture it. Based on drawings from 1917 and through collaboration among educational institutions in France, Brazil and India, students were able to create a 3D model of the airplane and solve potential problems during assembly of the virtual model using CATIA, DELMIA and ENOVIA.
