Online Gambling Grows More
Popular Every Day!

Gambling is a perfect online fit. Buying a lottery ticket
online, for example, is the same as buying one at the
store only without the hassle! Video poker is also
popular on the World Wide Web. Some like it because
they're shy about playing at the tables. Or some like it
because they grew up with Nintendo and like the feel of
playing at home like they always have.

But just how big is online gambling? Here are a few
statistics:

There are now over 1800 Internet gambling sites
18.7 million people are projected to be gambling
online by 2006
The Internet wagering business is expected to grow
from $6.6 billion this year to $20.8 billion in 2005

Not only that, but online gambling has become the fifth
largest advertising sector with 911 million ads in the last
year.

In a survey of 1,000 Internet users, 63% of respondents
had already visited an online gambling site (lottery,
bingo, sports betting, or casino sites). 29% had
specifically visited an online casino during the past year,
and 13% had placed real-money wagers.

Why in the world is gambling online so popular? Online
gambling offers many advantages, including the ability to
play whenever the mood strikes and more often. In fact
many casinos in Las Vegas have made their own on line
sites just to cater to those who prefer to gamble this
way.

The other reason is that as online technology advances,
online casinos are getting more and more realistic and
exciting. Some of the newer features include:

Live dealer games
Instant flash casinos

Whether you like the comfort and convenience of
gambling from your own home or the incredible
technology, you are one of millions that is enjoying online
gambling. And according to all the research, this trend
will only continue to grow.
Choosing Your Online Casino The
Right Way

It's true, online gambling is fun and sometimes
profitable, but there are certain rules you MUST know
before you toss down your hard earned money! And the
first thing you must learn is how to choose the right
casino.

Choosing the right casino is a personal matter. However,
You need to find a casino that is reputable. By reputable,
we mean:

Fair
Honest
Reliable
Financially Stable

Additionally, you need to check the following:

Does the casino have proper insurance
Is it legally licensed?
Is it bonded?
Is it properly owned?
Does the site function properly?
Do the games run smoothly without interruptions?
Are current clients comfortable with their service?
Is customer service available and adequate?
Is it a registered member of an industry trading
organization?
Are they using systems that are most desirable in
the industry?

Then there are the fees:

Are there hidden costs?
Are winnings paid out promptly?

Once you have the answers to these questions, then use
your sense of sight look at how the casino represents
itself. Does it look shabby? If so, it is probably a shabby
site. There are studies that show that a casino that takes
the time to put together a well-planned site tends to be
reliable and have long-term success.

Lets say youve been surfing the web and you come
across a new gambling site that interests you. Before you
do anything, follow these 3 rules. It can save you a big
headache and possible a lot of money!

1) Read everything you can about the site. Read all
their fine print. Read every policy. Know exactly
what you are getting into, especially before you
plunk down your hard earned cash.

2) Check to be sure that they have real customer
support. Look for a phone number and/or real time
chat support. Good casinos will offer many ways to
contact them. Check them out. Does the email really
work? How about the chat and the phone number?

3) Ask around. If others are there and enjoy the
experience, they wont mind sharing their opinion.
And if they dont like what they see, they will be
even more likely to share! You can find out the latest
information by visiting gambling forums and reading
the news.

Many people who gamble online do not bother to check
some very simple information before they begin gambling
at a new casino. Dont be one of these!

No More PayPal Now What?

Ok. So youve found your casino and want to play. How
do you make your deposit and how will you get your
winnings?

Until recently, you could make deposits and receive
earnings via your credit card and through PayPal.
However, with some new rules and the fear of breaking
federal gambling regulations, credit card companies and
PayPal have stopped servicing the online casino industry.

After a brief panic, the void was filled with many new
online payment methods. Some of the online payment
methods that have gained popularity and a good
reputation on the net include:

900pay.com

PrePaid ATM
PrePaid credit card
Western Union

These payment companies, and others (keep in mind that
new ones are popping up daily and most are reputable),
usually work with your bank account or credit card.

Its important to find the right payment method for your
needs and to determine which method is going to work
best based on the games you like to play or the online
casinos you play at. You can find plenty of information
and reviews about the various online payment methods
on the net.

Make Money With Your Casino
Deposit Its Called a Bonus!

As the online gaming industry grows, more and more
online casinos are being created. With so many casinos to
choose from, it can be difficult to decide where to put
your money. One way to decide is to take a close look at
the casinos promotions and bonus offers. Every online
casino will offer you something different so make sure to
pick the casino that offers the most attractive bonus.

There are many different kinds of online casino bonuses.
Here are just a few:

Initial casino deposit bonuses on new accounts.
This is a bonus based on your deposit. Some online
casinos offer a 100% bonus match up to a certain
dollar amount. For instance, you may find a casino
that offers a 100% match up to $100. This means
that when you deposit $100 at their casino, you will
now have $200 with which to play.
Use of specified online payment method. If you
make a casino deposit using one specific payment
company then the casino will offer you an additional
percent bonus credit on your deposit. This is usually
a tie-in promotion set up between the casino and the
payment company.
Referral bonus. Another bonus you can get is a
referral bonus. If you send someone to the casino
and they set up an account and make a casino
deposit, then you will be rewarded with credit or
money.
Frequency bonus. Some casinos even offer
bonuses and loyalty points for people who return to
play at that casino on a frequent basis.

Why would the casinos offer bonuses? One reason is to
attract your attention. They are aware of all the
competition and they want to offer you a reason to
choose them over someone else.

Another reason is so that you can get a feel for the
games and playing for REAL money online without too
much initial risk. While most casinos call this free money,
they all have bonus terms and conditions.

Most casinos have what is called wagering requirements.
This means that you have to play a certain number of
times before you can withdraw your cash. This keeps you
from taking your bonus, making one wager, and then
running off with your initial deposit and the bonus.
Wagering requirements vary from casino to casino, so be
sure to read the bonus terms for each site you plan to
use.

Another point worth noting is that many casinos have
excluded certain games from counting towards the
wagering requirement. This commonly includes games
like roulette and craps due to the fact that you can make
bets that cancel each other out - making them "No Risk"
bets.

The reason that online casinos can offer bonuses like this
and land-based casinos dont is due to their low
overhead. They have less staff, less equipment, and no
big building to maintain.

If you play you cards right you can take advantage of
these generous offerings and play all your favorite online
games with a lot more free money to play with.

You Got To Know When To Hold
em And Other Rules and
Strategies for Online Gambling

Everyone wants to play and win. And most everyone that
gamble believes that they are going to do so. That
optimism is a big part of the game, but there is much
more to it than that. Lets take a look at 4 main rules
while gambling online:

1. Money Management: One of the biggest problems that
gamblers, both online and off, face is the belief that the
big win is just around the corner. Did you know that the
longer a gambler plays on a single table or machine the
more likely it is the house will win. That's a fact.

Knowing this, you have to manage your greed. You have
to keep your goals reasonable. You have to keep your
bets reasonable. And as Kenny Rogers says in The
Gambler, You have to know when to hold em, know
when to fold em, know when to walk away, and know
when to run.

Think first what you want to achieve before you put your
money at risk.

Do you want to have fun and just play online for a
couple of hours?
Are you serious about winning a certain amount of
money?
Or a combination of both reasons?

Whether you play for fun or for serious money, make
sure you set achievable goals. You are not likely to turn
$100 into $100,000. But you may be able to double that
$100. Once you reach your realistic goal, you should quit.
Stop while you are ahead.

Not only do you need to know your winning goal, you
need to youre your stop loss position. This will help you
be certain that you don't lose more money than you
wanted to risk from the beginning.

Consider a sum that you can truly afford. For most
people, it is not the second mortgage on the house! You
simply have to know your limits. If you know what you
can afford to lose and stop once you reach that amount,
you will never have to have a heavy loss. Remember,
there is always a next time.

2. Game Management. In order to play and win, you
have to understand the game you are playing. (See the
last section of this booklet to give you some basic game
tips.) You are wagering your money. Would you buy
stock in a company without knowing a thing about it? I
doubt it, yet many people jump into online games
without any knowledge of how to play! That is a
guaranteed way to lose your money! You need to know
the rules and stick to the basics. And be sure to stay
away from the sucker bets!

3. Self Management: Once again, you are dealing with
your money. Dont be stupid about it! Self management
involves your ability to remain clear while playing. The
best way to do this is to not drink or allow yourself to be
under the influence of any narcotic while playing. Be
yourself. Know what you are doing.

4. Odds Management: Study the odds involved in
winning. Don't pay attention to gimmicks to be
successful. Rather, know the odds and play accordingly.

So, before you set out on your gambling tour, make a
realistic plan for yourself that will suit you. This way, you
can have fun and go home a winner. Even if you didnt
have a winning night.

Its Time to Learn the Games

Most online casinos offer a wide variety of table games.
The three most popular and basic games are blackjack,
baccarat, and roulette. Additionally, many casinos offer
additional table games like 5 Card, Omaha Hi/Lo, and
Texas Hold em.

In addition to table poker, video poker is another very
popular game. The best casinos offer as many as 1015
different games.

And lets not forget the slots!!

All of these games are simple to learn and fast to play. In
fact, the online versions are typically simpler and faster
than the land-based ones.

Before you start to play, lets take a quick look at the
three most popular games and their rules.

Blackjack Basics

Here is blackjack in a nutshell. You are trying to collect
cards with points as close to 21 without going over -
busting. Each card is assigned a value:

Face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth
10 points.
Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever is preferable.
Other cards are represented by their number.

Either six or eight decks of cards are used and are
shuffled together by the dealer and placed in a card-
dispensing box called 'Shoe'.

Before the game begins, you must place a bid. Then you
will be dealt two cards both face up. The dealer, on the
other hand, gets one face up and one face down.

Now you have the choice to take another card or stop
where you are. Once all the players are done, it becomes
the dealers turn.

Dealers have certain rules that they must follow
concerning getting a new card:

If the dealer has 17 or more, they must stay no
new card is given
If the dealer has 16 or less, they must draw get a
new card

If you make a total of 21 with the first two cards you win
automatically. This is called 'Blackjack'. If you have
Blackjack, you will win one and one-half times your bet
unless the dealer also has Blackjack. In this case, it is a
tie a Push - and you get your bet back.

The remaining players with a higher count than the
dealer win an amount equal to their bet. Players with a
lower count than the dealer lose their bet. If the dealer
busts, all the remaining players win.

There are other betting options, too, including Insurance,
Surrender, Double Down, Even Money and Split.

Insurance: This is a side bet one in addition to
what you are betting concerning your own hand. This
is a bet up to half the initial bet against the dealer
having a natural 21. This side bet, however, is only
allowed when the dealers face up card is an Ace. If
the dealer has a 10 face down and makes a
blackjack, insurance pays at 2-1 odds, but loses if
the dealer does not.
Surrender: Give up your hand and lose only half the
bet. This cannot be done if the dealer has already
checked for blackjack and has it.
Double Down: This is when you double your initial
bet following the initial two-card deal. If you double
down, you can only get one more card. This is a
good bet if you have strong cards.
Even Money: If you have a natural blackjack and
the dealer is showing an ace, you have the option of
cashing in your bet immediately at a 1:1 payout
ratio.

Now that you understand the betting, here are a few
terms you will want to know and understand:

Split Hand: This is when you split the initial two-
card hand into two and play them separately. This
can only be done when the first two cards are of
equal value. Use each card as the start to a separate
hand and place a second bet equal to the first.
Hard Hand: This is a hand without an ace OR a
hand where you count your ace as a 1 instead of an
eleven.
Soft Hand: A hand that contains an Ace counted as
11 is called a Soft Hand.

And what about the odds?
In favor of the player:

Using different number of decks: all other conditions
being the same, as a general rule the fewer the
decks, the better for the player.
Allowing a double down after splitting pairs: can
be advantageous to the player if used wisely.
Allowing re-splitting of Aces: a clear advantage to
the player.

In favor of the dealer:

Allowing the dealer to hit a soft 17: a disadvantage
to the player. It gives the dealer a chance to
improve.

Now that you understand the basics, lets move onto
some tips and strategies that will help you win more
often!

Blackjack Strategies and Tips

Understanding the rules of blackjack can help you have a
tremendous advantage over the house. Why? Because
the dealer of blackjack makes no personal decisions.
They have to take a card or hold based on what is in their
hand. Period.

So, how can you use this to your advantage? There are
three main strategies that blackjack players use: a
money management scheme based solely on profit and
loss limits like the Paroli system, a money management
scheme based on the basic strategy of blackjack like the
DAlenbert System, and card counting.

Lets take a quick look at all three.

The Paroli Money Management System starts with one
bet and you increase your bet when you win. Before you
begin play however, you need to determine:

How big you will le the bet become before you start
back at the initial bet, and
How much to raise after each win

This is a great system for someone who just wants to
have fun at the blackjack table since you dont have to
have a lot of money for this system to work. Additionally,
it lets you keep playing while you are winning and keeps
your losses to a minium.

The DAlanbert Money Management System goes like
this. If you lose a bet, then the next bet is raised one
unit. If you win a bet, the next bet is lowered one unit.
All of this, of course is dependent upon following the
basic rules of betting.

1. If the dealer's up card is a seven (7) or higher, you
should play to seventeen.
2. If the dealer's up card is a six (6) or lower but higher
than a three (3) you must play to twelve and
stop.
3. If the dealer's up card is a two (2) or a three (3) you
must play until 13.
If you follow this strategy your chances of a successful
round of Blackjack will increase significantly. When
played closely, the Basic Strategy can reduce the House's
edge in Blackjack to 0.5% or less, depending on the rule
variations in effect.

The final technique we will discuss is the card counting
technique. This lets you alter your playing and betting
strategies based on what has already been played and
the probabilities of what will soon play. By doing this, you
can gain a statistical advantage over the casino.

For single deck games:
1. Start the count at -4 when the deck is shuffled.
2. Count -2 for 10, J, Q, K.
3. Count +1 for everything else (including Aces).
4. Bet low when the count is negative, high when the
count is positive
5. Take insurance when the count is positive.
6. Play basic strategy at all times.

Baccarat Basics

The object of baccarat is to correctly predict whether the
banker's hand will win, the player's hand will win, or the
game will result in a tie. The value of a hand is
determined by adding the values of its individual cards in
this manner:

Tens and face cards count as zero
All other cards count as their numerical value.

After summing the total, only the last digit is used.
Therefore, baccarat hands all have values from 0 to 9.
The hand with the higher value wins. If the hands have
the same value, the game results in a tie. Initially, both
the banker and the player are dealt two cards. If the two
initial cards total 8 or 9, the hand is called a "natural,
and the game will end at that point. Otherwise, standard
Baccarat "third card rules" determine if a hand should
receive a third and final card.

Here is how the betting works:

If you place a bet on the players hand to win, you
get paid at 1:1 odds.
If you place a bet on the bankers hand to win, you
get paid at .95:1 odds
If you place a bet on a tie, you get paid at 8:1 odds.
If the game is a tie and you did not bet on a tie
game, your bets are returned.

Baccarat is truly a game of luck! But there are a few
strategies to follow, so, keep reading!
Baccarat strategies and Tips

Calculations have been made that show the odds of the
player winning are 44.62%, losing 45.85%, and tying
9.53%. This means that the odds are in favor of the
house winning and you should bet on the house every
time, right?

Well, yes and no.

To even out the odds, the house charges a commission
(usually 5%) on winning bets placed on the house.
Factoring in a typical 5% commission, the odds are still
slightly better on the house.

But, what do you do if the commission is not 5%? . If the
commission is less than 5%, then you should always bet
on the house. If the commission is more than 5%, you
should always bet on the player winning.

Removing the tie hands in the event there is no payoff,
the odds of the player winning are 49.32% and for losing
50.68%. For various commissions we can calculate the
following average payoffs then, assuming 100 wagers of
$1 were made.

Baccarat sometimes allows for a bet to be made for a tie.
Although the odds of 8 to 1 may sound appealing, it is
considered one of the worst wages in the casino. Our
recommendation? Dont bother!

Roulette Basics

There are two basic Roulette wheels, and which one you
will see is dependent upon where you happen to be
playing. US casinos tend to use a double-zero Roulette
wheel. This wheel has pockets numbered from 1 to 36,
plus 0 and 00, for a total of 38 pockets.

Having two zeros (0, 00) gives the house a 5.26%
advantage. In other words, for every $100 a gambler
bets, the house will make $5.26 in profit.

European casinos tend to use a single-zero wheel.

Having one zero (0) gives the house a 2.70% advantage.
In other words, for every $100 a gambler bets, the house
will make $2.70 in profit.

Every player is assigned a different color chip that is
purchased at the roulette table. Each roulette table has a
minimum chip value, but you get to decide, above that
value, what you want your chips to be worth. This sounds
more confusing than it is, so lets look at an example.

Lets say a table has a $1 minimum chip value. Thus, if
you gave the dealer $50 he would ask what value you
wanted on the chips and if you said $1 he would give you
50 colored chips. Or you could say you wanted the chips
valued at $2 each and he would just give you 25 chips.
Since the table has a $1 limit, you would not be able to
ask for the chips to be 50 cents in value.

Later on when youre done playing at that table you must
exchange your colored chips for regular chips before
leaving. The colored chips have no value anywhere else
in the casino so dont leave the table with them!!!!!!
There is also a minimum amount that must be bet, and
like the minimum chip value, this minimum will be posted
at each table.

Now lets see how you bet. These are all called inside
bets because they are based on the numbers themselves.

Straight bet - you only bet on one number and if it
comes in youll be paid 35-to-1.
Split - you put a chip on the line that separates two
numbers. If either number comes up youll be paid at
17-to-1.
Corner bet - you put a chip in an area that splits 4
numbers and if any one of those 4 numbers comes in
you will be paid off at 8-to-1.
Street bet - you put a chip at the beginning of a row
of 3 numbers and if any one of those 3 numbers
shows up you will be paid off at 11-to-1.
Double Street bet - you put a chip on the line
between two streets and if any one of those 6
numbers come in youll be paid off at 5-to-1.
5 number bet - you place one chip in the upper left
corner of the number 1 box. If any one of those 5
numbers comes in youll be paid off at 6-to-1. This is
the worst possible bet on the roulette table. You
should never make this bet.

Now lets take a look at the outside bets. These bets are
all the other bets you can make while playing roulette.

There are six bets you can make that will pay you even
money. This means that you get one dollar back for
every dollar you bet.

Red - you put a chip on red. If a red number comes
up, you win. If the ball lands on a black number, 0 or
00 - you lose.
Black You put a chip on black. If a black number
comes up, you win. If the ball lands on a red
number, 0 or 00 - you lose.
Odd - you put a chip on odd. If an odd number
comes up, then you win. If it lands on 0, 00, or an
even number - you lose.
Even you put a chip on even. If an even number
shows up, you win. If an odd number shows up, or
0, 00, you lose.
1 through 18 - If you bet on 1 through 18, then you
win if a number from 1 through 18 comes in and you
lose if the ball lands on 0, 00 or a number higher
than 18.
19 through 36 - If you bet on 19 through 36, you
win if one of those numbers comes in and you lose
on 0, 00 or any number lower than 19.

Another kind of outside bet is the dozens bet. This bet
pays 2:1 odds. Each roulette wheel is laid out in three
sections that correspond to the numbers. The first section
consists of numbers 1-12. The second contains numbers
13-24. And the third? You guessed it! The third contains
numbers 25-36. If you bet on the 1st 12 you would win if
a number from 1 to 12 came in and you would lose if
anything else came in, including 0 or 00. The same
principle holds true for each of the other dozen bets
where you would win if a number in that section came in
and you would lose if anything else showed up..

The final bet, all a 2:1 odd bet, is called the column bet.
There are three possible column bets you can make and
youll notice that each area corresponds to the numbers
in the column directly above it.

So, if you put a chip under the first column you will win if
any of the numbers in that column come in and you will
lose if any other number, including 0 or 00 shows up.
Once again, the same rule is in effect for each of the
other columns where you would win if the number
appears in the column above your bet and you would lose
if it doesnt.

Roulette is a fun game, but the odds are always in the
favor of the house. There are many systems out there
to beat these odds, but none of them are proven winners.
Have fun with roulette, but dont bet the bank!
