Lets face the fact that some modern typefaces such as Helvetica, Garamond, Futura, Bodoni, etc. are used in everywhere that they are not so cool anymore unless they are used with old type to evoke another time and place! And this is the essence that, New Vintage Type (classic fonts for the Digital Age) brings to an issue. A combination of classic fonts and modern take create the new vintage that look retro but sophisticated enough for contemporary design. This book rediscovers hundreds of examples of classic fonts being used everywhere in the digital age (CD covers, book covers, posters, packaging, comics etc) and including development of type and how they were in five historical era, the Victorian Age, the Wood type Era, Art Deco Style, Modern Movement and the Eccentric Movement. Briefly, In chronological order, each five historical Eras are introduced with keyword, time period, vintage typeface along with modern design elements to show overall aspects, considering the fact that this book contains more than three hundred examples that are each woth look into. The design will look and animated differently to show contrast and their style. Through motion, the big idea is to identify and show what attributes (color, form, feel) make them special and relevant or gain insight to use them in the future.
