Hello and sorry to bother you djlighty !

I did all the steps that you have described and the results is the same ... "Cannot locate protection key. Check the key connection and driver installation. Software will run in demonstration mode." So i'll describe some of the steps that i made (the main steps) and please if you notice what i'm doing wrong please let me know! 01) from step "type of installation" i chose "Floating license" 02) from step "Setup type" i chose "Client AND License Server" 03) from next step "Edit Data" where it's asking for the Server IP and Module numbers, i left both fields ("Server" and "Modules") blank. 04) from step of the installation where i need to "Choose Destination Location" of "V613", "Config", "Group" and "Projects" i don't use the default destination folder. In partition D: i creted a folder named "TopSolid 2012" where i created new 4 folders with the name "V613", "Config", "Group" and "Projects" and of corse i choose for installation the new created destination folders. 05) I install the "Sentinel RMS License Manager 8.5.1" with de default destination folder and with "Complete" Setup type. I checked the box "Unblock the system firewall for the Sentinel RMS License Manager". 06) I install the "Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.5.7." with de default destination folder and with "Complete" Setup type. 07) I Restar the PC. 08) I created the "LSHOST" and "LSFORCEHOST" System variables with my PC name (host name). 09) I copy the "WlmAdmin.exe" and "lsapiw32.dll" to "TopSolid 2012\V613" folder. 10) I copy the "lservrc.lic" to folder "TopSolid 2012\Config" folder. 11) I edit the "top.cod" with my host name (my PC name), i saved the file and i copy + paste + move and replace the file to "TopSolid 2012\Config" folder. 12) I open the "WlmAdmin.exe" with administrator rights. On "Defined Servers" i choose "Edit\Defined Server List"; On "Server" field i wrote 127.0.0.1, then i click on "Add" and then "OK"; On the 127.0.0.1 i choose "Add Feature\From a File\To Server" then i choose the "lservrc.lic" from "TopSolid 2012\Config" folder. I let the "WlmAdmin.exe" open. 13) I edit the "TopSolid 2012" shortcut from the Desktop, adding on the "Target" field to the end of the path the " -fMissler/255/6.13" argument (without the quotes). 14) I open "TopSolid 2012" from the edited shortcut on the Desktop. The result is the above mentioned error window .... "Cannot locate protection key. Check the key connection and driver installation. Software will run in demonstration mode."

So what i am doing wrong ? Please help !!! P.S. Excuse me for my giant message, but please understand that i'm very interested about this software! If it's good for wood furniture design, interior design, interior rendering, drafting, costs, Cam, i will buy it. If it's not i'll choose something else. The price is not importand (or it's importand if it exceed common sense), but the details above mentioned for wood are very importand. Bye Bye ! ---------- Post added 03-06-2013 at 07:20 AM ---------- Previous post was 03-052013 at 08:36 PM ---------Hello again ... suspecting that maybe the problem occurs because i don't use the default installation destination i reinstall the all thing in the default installation destination then i create just LSFORCEHOST sistem variable but again same error window ... i just don't understand why ... something it's blocking my license file. windows firewall it's not working being canceled by me and the other wirewall i use i canceled to just to test whether this is the problem ... and nothing ... same error! Excuse me, but i just don't understand why for some of you it works and for me not ... It's the first time when i don't know what to do ... Bye bye again and excuse me for my insistence ! I want to buy the best and most complete software for wood furniture and i know that the price is high ... i just can not buy a high price software without to testing his skills.

It's workinggggggggggggg ! The big problem was the "host" file. In the "host" file from windows 7 32bit , the line "127.0.0.1 localhost" it was commented with a '#' symbol. So ... the steps from "djlighty" are perfectly good and very well exlpained! Thank you again "djlighty"! You are the best! So ... if you install TopSolid and have the error "Cannot locate protection key ...." you can also check the "host" file. The path of the "host" file on windows 7 is: "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc". When i'll reack the 10 posts limit and i can add pictures, i promise i'll add a picture or video tutorial with how to install. However, i repeat that the whole merit is for "djlighty" for a perfect explained install steps and "r@nd0mX" who add the "TopSolid 2012" to CGPersia forum. Good luck!
