Procedimiento de utilizacin
1. Cada ventilador tiene una curva caracterstica para cada ngulo de los alabes (por
ejemplo 40).
2. Con el valor del caudal medido (por ejemplo 5000 cfm), se traza una perpendicular
hasta la interseccin con la curva caracterstica de presin total, con el ngulo
correspondiente de los alabes (80). De esta interseccin, se traza una horizontal, hacia
el eje de la izquierda, all se puede leer la Presin Total entregada por el ventilador (por
ejemplo 5.3 H2O).
3. Con el valor del caudal medido (por ejemplo. 5,000 cfm), se traza una perpendicular
hasta la interseccin con la curva de presin dinmica del ventilador, de este punto se
traza una horizontal, hacia el eje de la izquierda, all se lee la presin dinmica (por
ejemplo. 0.5 de H2O).
4. La presin Esttica se obtiene restando la Presin dinmica, de la Presin Total (por
ejemplo 5.3 0.5 = 4.8 de H2O).
5. Con el valor del caudal medido (por ejemplo. 5,000 cfm), se traza una perpendicular
hasta la interseccin con la curva de potencia, con el ngulo correspondiente de los
alabes. De esta interseccin, se traza una horizontal, hacia el eje de la derecha, all se
puede leer la Potencia consumida por el ventilador (por ejemplo. 9.5 HP).
6. Estos Datos son para una temperatura standard y al nivel del mar, para obtener los
datos a una altitud y temperatura dada hay que obtener el factor de correccin de la
tabla 1.
7. El caudal es independiente de la altura, puesto que esta depende de las caractersticas

geomtricas.
8. Las presiones y potencia se calculan multiplicando los valores ya encontrados, por el

factor de correccin.
Por ejemplo
a 4,800 msnm y Temperatura Standard:
Factor = 0.617
Tenemos:
Q = 5,000cfm
PT = 5.3 x 0.617
= 3.27 H2O
PD = 0.5 x 0.617
= 0.37 H2O
SP = 4.8 x 0.617 = 2.56 H2O

Pot. = 9.5 x 0.617
= 5.86 HP
