Berkeley College offers a series of free workshops to engage your students on timely, relevant topics that correlate to your existing coursework. Its a fun, effective way to bring a new perspective to your classroom.
Academic Integrity This workshop will give your students the skills they need to develop a code of honor, as well as a firm understanding of the expectations of educational institutions regarding plagiarism and the triggers that may cause them to plagiarize. Recommended for Seniorlevel English classes. The Business of You Help your students understand the concept of looking at their life as a small business. An animated video highlights many of the situations that teens face on a daily basis. Interactive questions help your class discover the consequences of their decisions. Are You Right For The Job? Having the right interview skills can make or break the chance of landing a job. In this workshop, animated characters and interactive questions help students understand the dos and donts of interviewing. For the Health of It Animated characters offer healthier alternatives by showcasing the nutritional differences in popular foods and presenting students with healthier choices. Exercise, caloric intake, and the infamous freshman 15 will be discussed. Perfect for upperclassman. First Impressions Clever and entertaining animated film clips illustrate the importance of a positive first impression. Social Media - Changing the Face of Marketing Marketing through social media is now the fastest way to reach an audience. This workshop examines the progressive, ever-changing effects social media has on how products, services, and businesses are marketed. Berkeley College provides men and women opportunities to participate in organized intercollegiate and intramural sports at a variety of levels. Berkeley College is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), as well as the Hudson Valley Men's and Women's Athletic Conferences. Berkeley College students benefit from faculty-monitored internships, practicums, or job-related assignments prior to graduation. The Career Services Department assists students in securing full-time or part-time employment and volunteer opportunities. HIPAA Awareness Preparation Self-paced / Online Duration: 2 hours / Cost: $25.00
This interactive, self-paced course provides the information healthcare professionals need to ensure compliance with HIPAA standards. Case-based scenarios are used to analyze important policies and best practices that safeguard the confidentiality of patient health information. Included in the course are the HIPAA Omnibus Final Rules of 2013. Certification of completion may be printed at the conclusion of the course. Certified coders are now required to complete a proficiency exam to update their certification for the implementation of ICD-10. By focusing on different chapters of the ICD-10 manual, this course will provide an overview of the new structure and the changes in diagnostic coding. The course will also provide medical documentation background by utilizing case scenarios and short summaries of medical documentation.

ICD-10 Certification Preparation for Certified Medical Coders Instructor-led / Online Duration: 6 weeks / Cost: $595.00

CRCST Exam Preparation I Instructor-led / Online Duration: 6 weeks / Cost: $300.00

This is the first in a three-course series to prepare currently practicing surgical processing technicians for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam. Content is based on guidelines provided by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) and includes regulations and standards, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, infection prevention and control, quality assurance, safety, and communication and human relation skills. Students will be prepared to progress to the CRCST Exam Preparation II course. The second in a three-course series in preparation for the CRCST exam, this interactive online environment features learning activities and practice exercises, as well as access to an experienced instructor with a strong central services background. Course content includes surgical instrumentation, complex surgical instruments, point-of-use technology, inventory management, and tracking systems. Students will be prepared to progress to the CRCST Exam Preparation III course.

Following this final course in the three-course series, students will be prepared for the CRCST exam. Course content includes sterile packaging and storage, high-temperature sterilization, low-temperature sterilization, management of patient care equipment, and sterile processing for ambulatory surgery.
