Quality in Extended Learning (QiSS)

Professional Member

QiSS Professional Membership This Agreement is made between Quality in Extended Learning (QiSS), on behalf of Canterbury Christ Church University and Glenda Yearwood (hereinafter called the Professional Member). The agreement authorises the Professional Member to deliver the following services on behalf of Quality in Extended Learning (QiSS) under licence: Delivery of Emerged and Established Recognition schemes in accordance with the requirements outlined in the QiSS/QES recognition packs (2013); Act as a Critical Friend to support educational and voluntary sector organisations; Act as Chair, Peer Scrutineer, Critical Friend or Moderator at Recognition meetings or visits on behalf of QiSS; The agreement authorises the Professional Member to deliver Quality in Extended Learning (QiSS) training courses in accordance with the fee requirements as set out by Canterbury Christ Church University;

Professional Members Eligibility To be eligible the professional member must be fully conversant and up to date with the study support policy agenda and have experience in using the QiSS and QES recognition schemes at Emerged and Established levels (Advanced Chair can only be undertaken by those professional members who are qualified to do so). Professional members must be fully conversant with the requirements for QiSS and QES Recognition Meetings and shall have acted in the capacity of Recognition Chair or National Critical Friend within the last twelve months. Terms of this professional partnership agreement 1. The Professional Member shall act in the capacity of a National or Local Critical Friend to ensure that the quality of services is kept to the highest standard as set out by Canterbury Christ Church University. Chairs of Recognition Visits/Meetings shall be QiSS trained and have passed the QiSS Critical Friend MA module or National QiSS Chairs Course and registered as a National Critical Friend on the National QiSS database. The Professional Member is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the QiSS and QES protocols are adhered too. The Professional Member shall liaise directly with the QiSS office when delivering QiSS training courses and organising recognition meetings. The course tutor will supply the following documents to QiSS: i. Course details, dates and training venues and number of participants; ii. Completed registration and attendance documents; iii. Completed evaluation forms; iv. Details for Course Certificates; v. On completion of the course delivery invoice QiSS.

Chairs of Recognition Visits/Meetings shall have shadowed a QiSS Chair prior to undertaking the role of a Chair at a Recognition Visit/Meeting and ensure that all the necessary Recognition paperwork is sent to the QiSS office. Professional Members will receive payment for a training course when course fees have been paid and the course delivered. It will be the Professional

Members responsibility to submit an invoice for educational activities (QiSS Course delivery, Chairing and/or Critical Friendship support). 7. QiSS will have the right to moderate 10% of meetings/visits/training and the Professional Member will act in the capacity of moderator when requested by QiSS. The Professional Member will be permitted to use the QiSS name and logo when delivering services on behalf of QiSS.

9. The QiSS documentation necessary for QiSS and QES recognition schemes will be supplied by QiSS. QiSS training course materials and documents will be supplied by QiSS for delivery by Professional Members. Use of the QiSS generic logo is restricted to the documentation and the delivery only and is subject to copyright and may not be altered by a third party. 10. The Professional Member is required to notify QiSS of forthcoming Recognition Meetings/Visits dates (minimum of six weeks). Paperwork for Recognition Meetings/Visits, including a covering letter and map, (see pack/website) shall be forwarded to the QiSS office prior to the Recognition taking place. 11. Certificates and congratulatory letters shall be generated by QiSS after successful Recognition. This documentation will be sent directly to the successful organisation, unless a specific request is received from a Professional Member to send certificates directly to the Professional Member for distribution at award ceremonies or presentations. 12. Certificates of attendance will be issued by QiSS to training course participants. 13. Local Critical Friends Certificates and CF logos plus registration on the National QiSS database and letters of congratulations will be distributed by the QiSS office. This documentation will be sent directly to the Professional Member for distribution unless a request is received to send the certificates out to individual participants on the training course. 14. It is the responsibility of the Professional Member to communicate with the QiSS office regarding the delivery of services. 15. QiSS reserves the right to withdraw a Professional Membership authorisation if QiSS protocols are not adhered too, if there is evidence of false compilation of portfolios, if there is evidence of unprofessional behaviour or misconduct. Advantages of Professional Membership 1. Professional Members will have access to CCCU webmail, CLIC Learn and Video conferencing facilities. 2. Access and unlimited usage of the QiSS National Study Support Database, QiSS Survey Tool and user guides and the ELO Action Planning Tools. 3. The Professional Member contact details will be registered and held on the QiSS National Database. 4. Use of the QiSS logo and links to the QiSS website can be held on members websites. 5. The QiSS website will provide a link to a Professional Members website. 6. Professional Members information will be included in the QiSS Newsletter. QiSS will provide CPD training for Associate Professional Members

The following opportunities will be available for all Associate Professional Members and Partners staff: a. Induction training for QiSS course materials, support with the delivery of training courses b. QiSS Recognition Scheme and Critical Friends updates c. QiSS National Database, Survey Tool and the Web-based Extended Learning Opportunities Audit Action Planning Tools training and support d. QiSS Chairing and Critical Friendship training course for schools and voluntary organisations e. On-going Associates CPD f. QiSS protocols and finance induction training g. Video conferencing equipment and CLIC Learn training QiSS Expectations of Professional Member 1. Professional Members are entitled to engage in Critical Friendship activities. QiSS expects Professional Members to actively promote the QiSS and QES Recognition schemes. QiSS would in return recommend and promote Professional Members as Recognition Chairs, e.g. QiSS will pass on Recognition Chairing or Critical Friendship to professional members 2. Fee for chairing would be paid at a rate of 375 per day calculated on number of centres seeking Recognition, e.g. day meeting or full day. If a Recognition was conducted remotely ie Skype/video conferencing, the rate would be 275 per day, calculated on number of centres seeking Recognition, e.g. day or full day. 3. Photographs of successful Recognition Celebration events to be forwarded to QiSS for inclusion on the QiSS Flickr website with picture captions. 4. Organisation of training courses will be undertaken by the Professional Member Benefits of promoting and delivering QiSS training courses QiSS has a number of training courses that can be delivered by QiSS Professional Members. QiSS will provide all training materials and administration for the delivery of training course. Intellectual copyright for all the training course materials will be held by Canterbury Christ Church University and the materials will be updated annually. A finders fee will be paid for all courses that a Professional Member is unable to deliver. In that instance the training course will be delivered by a member of the CCCU team or another Professional Member. The finders fee will be paid once all booking fees have been received by CCCU. Courses delivered by a Professional Member will paid at a delivery rate of 375 per day. Preparation time will be paid at desk rate set for each course delivered (see course delivery table). Course delivery will include access to the course curriculum documents, PowerPoint materials and delegates training resources and materials. QiSS will supply all teaching materials, attendance and evaluation forms and candidates completion certificates including Local Critical Friend and National Critical Friend logos where applicable. QiSS will have the right to moderate course delivery by arrangement with the course tutor.

Professional Membership fees include: 1. Canterbury Christ Church University is one of the leading education institutions in the UK and the brand of CCCU is internationally, nationally and regionally recognised so there is value to working in partnership with QiSS, Canterbury Christ Church. 2. QiSS will provide administration support for recognition registration, meetings and course training materials. 3. QiSS will be responsible for the invoicing of participants training course fees, the payment of Professional Members time when delivering a training course, Critical Friendship consultancy and Chairing Recognition when it generates income or fees. Confidentiality: A Professional Member will not at any time during employment on QiSS business or afterwards, disclose to any person any information as to the business, dealings, practice, accounts, finances, trading, software, or affairs of QiSS. All information held about QiSS Canterbury Christ Church University practice is to be regarded as confidential. All notes, memoranda, records and other documents of QiSS in a Professional Members possession are and shall remain the property of QiSS and shall be handed over by the Professional Member to QiSS from time to time on demand so new versions can be issued or in any event, upon termination of the Professional Membership. Given the highly confidential nature of the work you will undertake, you should understand the telephone conversation in particular should be conducted in a confidential manner. You should understand that any breach of this clause would constitute a very serious disciplinary offence for which the Professional Membership will be revoked. Should you breach this clause after your Professional Membership has ended, the organisation may take legal action against the Professional Member.
