Downturn not a threat its an opportunity

Abstract The research on innovative ideas that will lead the way forward and create the innovations upturn for global organizations and economies can be discussed in two phases. Phase 1: Agriculture has a great opportunity even in the times of downturn because it is a basic need globally. Nobody in this entire world can survive without agriculture. Without the production of the agricultural products i.e. food grains the essential needs of the general public cannot be fulfilled and therefore disturbing every economy as a whole. Agriculture is a crucial need but what comes between the need and its fulfillment is the fund. To develop agriculture and promote agricultural based activities all around the world fund is needed but it can be easily seen that due to downturn the fund available for agriculture is going down because the same in invested in other activities all around the world. Here, the main emphasis is on agriculture that how it can bring several opportunities all across the globe and can be an innovative idea. Phase 2: The other basic needs should also be seen upon. Generally, a time in every sector can be seen everywhere. Time gap gives birth to management. Time gap may be needed but at some places it is a sin. The other issue the fund is utilized in several other sectors providing different kinds of services and facilities but the fund is not used in crucial

needs. Basic services like first aid clinic booth, real time systems, proper use of industrial waste, retailing of petrol and diesel etc. should be provided to the entire mass globally.

Introduction Downturn is not only caused due to recession but there are several factors apart from recession. Recession is a condition which is responsible for the downturn when GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the economy goes down. Downturn is seen as a threat but actually in times of threat only the opportunities arise. In downturn, globally the availability of all kind of resources is very less so it gives an opportunity in times of downturn to every business to learn how to get effective and efficient results while there is a scarcity of resources. Moreover, when cost cutting is done by the business in times of downturn it is challenge for every business to maintain the customer satisfaction. This gives rise to several innovations thus proving downturn as an upturn. The reason why the emphasis is being given on the basic needs i.e. agriculture and other necessary services is just because anytime the crucial things cannot be ignored. As agricultural and innovation related to it are important the main target for innovation is on India as it is a land of farmers and 65% of population resides in villages and main occupation is agriculture. Demand and supply functions are not able to match for the benefit of entire economy resulting in high inflation.

Apart from agriculture certain basic services are required globally which is still not implemented in a proper manner. Fund is not utilized in a proper manner if customers are deprived of required services.

The current scenario- and related areas:

In olden days the population was very less as a result of which there was very less competition. Very less percentage of the total population was literate. Low population resulted in less demand. The people were satisfied in just one pair of clothes under one roof means they dont have any thrust for earning money.

Now the current scene is population is increasing at a very rapid speed, the result of which competition has increased and there is a cut throat competition among everyone. Now people are highly educated having the knowledge of technology thus advanced. Presence of technology made work easier thus making people lazy. The standard of living has increased. Since there is large population the demand for products increases but the supply is not able to meet demand. The availability of land is decreasing day by day and farmers have started selling their agricultural land. complexities in farming stopped many farmers to do production on their land as a result of which they are selling their lands and investing their fund in some business. They wish to have all the three needs-basic needs, safety needs and social needs. Thus, thrust of money prevails.

Till now, India is called the land of farmers; where about 65% population resides in villages having agriculture as their main occupation. The production done by them is consumed by themselves and the rest 30% of the remaining population. But the above statement is not justified. India is on 2nd position in rice production, 3rd in wheat production and 5th in milk production in the whole world. If one minutely observes then it can be found that 70% population is involved in production but then even not able to meet the required demand as a result inflation starts. Thus, in a nutshell it can be finally said that: People are not getting good quality products. Demand of agricultural crops keep on increasing and supply is decreasing day by day. Prices of agricultural products increasing. Government is also helpless in deciding rates. Exports are also very less.

Since food is the basic necessity consumed by each and every person either rich or poor who belongs to any religion Hindu or Muslim. If any country or world as a whole is not be able to provide this food in right quality at reasonable prices and at right time then it is useless to be called a developed country or globally advanced world.

From here the research starts. Through four points significant innovation can be done.

Government should ban all the farmers from selling their agricultural lands.

At least one branch office must be opened or shifted to the villages. Sever system must be adopted to provide proper and natural fertilizers to the agriculture land after refinement.

Each and every government employee should give Rupee 2000, 1000, 500 as per their grades to the registered farmers

Government should ban all the farmers from selling their agricultural lands

There is not sufficient production to meet the demand of the people and as there is limited production so proper supply is also not maintained as a result of which prices of agricultural goods keep on increasing day by day in spite of India being called the land of farmers. Currently, it is seen that farmers near the outside areas of cities very frequently keep on selling their agricultural land and same is the case in proper rural areas also. Farmers get some money against their land and thus start doing any business instead of doing their main occupation. So government must at once start one provision through which neither the farmer is allowed to sell his land nor anyone is allowed to buy any agricultural land. In this way farmers are left with their land and they will do farming as their only occupation and contribute to the total production of the country thus helping in meeting the required demand.

Advantages of this Innovation Farmers are restricted to farming only. Farmers contribute to the total production of the country.

Demand is easily met as production increases than before. Price is controlled as sufficient production is there People are easily able to satisfy their basic need of food. Exports of the country will increase which results in revenue generation.

Disadvantages As we all know population is keep on increasing so people also wants shelter along with food. So they are being deprived from residential plots as provision for not selling agricultural land is ordered. Apart from this, real estate business will also be affected a lot. Dealers and builders will not get land to make apartment complexes and multiplexes etc. Thus, No land for residential purpose. No land for real estate business.

At least one branch office must be opened or shifted to the villages To avoid the above problem an innovation must be required that will lead tremendous business opportunity in the market in this downturn phase also. Take an example, my grandfather was a farmer and he used to live in basti. He made my father literate and knowledgeable and as there was very less competition fifty years before, my father got temporary job in government sector in Lucknow on Rupees 100 per month. My father and grandfather both were very happy. My father was newly married at that time so he easily managed for 3-4 months in Lucknow then my mother

also came to Lucknow as it was very difficult for my father to manage all the things alone. They both reside in room on rent basis. As time passed, my father got promotion from temporary to permanent fourth class employee in government sector. In mean while my grandfather was dead and after three years my parents got one son that is myself so they finally decided to make some future plans for safety and security needs as he was in job in Lucknow. Thus, they finally planned to settle in Lucknow only, arranged some funds and purchased a plot of land for residential purpose. Therefore, we can say that there was no one who can look after the agricultural land after my father in basti thus making land of no use.

Thus, it can be made out that like my father a lot many people come to and went to the main cities of the country to get job over there and left their precious home town which is having nothing productive beside from just getting some amount of food grains. There must have been someone who can take care of that land or uses that land. Therefore, my innovative idea is that if we open or shift at least one branch office of some companies in rural areas then a significant change is going to take place which ultimately change this downturn to upturn.

Advantages No migration of people from villages to cities for job. Cities will be less populated so no disturbances of any kind. Villages get developed very soon same as cities. People can do their jobs as well as look after their lands.

Total production of a country increases. Proper utilization of land possible. Complexes, multiplexers, apartments, hotels in villages also. Business opportunity for real estate business. There will be a proper regional balance.

Sever system must be adopted

Lets go back to our past history. People did not have the facility of sanitation. They went outside due to absence of sanitation facilities. And the present scene is that each and every house of a city is having proper sanitation facilities which is linked to the sever system and all the wastes is dumped into the rivers and seas which ultimately creates lots of pollution. Rivers keep on polluting. Diseases are spreading up to great extent. The main question arises what innovation should be done Sever system of cities must be connected in such a way that they must be diverted from cities to rural agricultural lands for production process. It is scientifically proved that manures, pesticides are very less effective as compared to these wastes of sever system. So a proper provision or system must be done through which we just divert the waste drainage system to agricultural lands through small canals. This innovation will increase the production up to 50% more. Efficiency of land as well as man

power will also increase. Produced products have more vitamins and proteins as compared before. Diseases reduced up to great extent.

Advantages:-

No dumping of sever wastes in rivers. Rivers and cities are pollution free. Production increases. Productivity of land increases. Optimum utilization of resources. Agricultural products have more proteins and vitamins.

Manures and pesticides which cost much are reduced up to great extent.

Money transfer from one sector to another

Earlier there was not much difference between rich and poor. But as time passes income inequalities have increased. Rich are becoming richer and poor becoming poorer. Many times farmers do not have money to buy basic things used in agriculture process and production suffers. So a provision must be made under which government employees as well as farmers are classified into 3 grades-A, B, C. A grade Government employee should give Rs.2000, B grade Government

employee should give Rs.1000 and C grade Government employee should give Rs.500 to farmers of A,B and C grade respectively.

Advantages

Availability of money at time of need. Increase in mutual understanding and cooperation. Society benefits a lot.

SOME BUSINESS OPPURTUNITIES IN SERVICE SECTOR

Currently, people have sufficient money to earn their livelihood. But in spite of having surplus money many a times it is seen that people are still deprived of some goods and services. So having surplus money is of no use. INDIA is yet not a developed country and is in the developing phase. So this downturn is an opportunity to start new business. The innovative ideas are as follows: 1) First Aid Clinic booth 2) Real time system 3) Utilization of industrial waste 4) Petrol and Diesel Retailing 5) Friendship Bureau

First Aid Clinic Booth Several people driving on the road meet an accident and get badly injured. It is very difficult for them to reach or approach the hospital by their own. By the time the person is taken to hospital generally, if badly injured, dies on the way. Even having lots of money the person is not able to survive due to time gap of the first aid service then having money is of no use. Therefore, the idea is to develop a system called First Aid Clinic Booth which will be opened in prime areas of cities as well as villages. The first aid booth will be tied up with several hospitals so that in the event of accident the victim can easily reach the hospital by the booth van. If the case is serious the van should be a mobile hospital and a doctor comes with the van and can save the life of the victim. For example, to satisfy the hunger Dominos Pizza is offering Pizza within no time at the doorstep so why not such facility is available for the life saving. If the country is not able to save the lives of a person then it cannot be called a Developed country.

Real time system Technology has been increasing at a very fast pace. Information is available on the internet and various other sources due to presence of the technology in current life. But, the major issue is that the information needed takes time when actually searched for. What is the use of that information which one cannot get at proper time and proper place.

Utilization of Industrial Waste

All the industrial waste is dumped outside the industry nearby the seas resulting in excessive pollution due to which there is a severe effect on the life of any organism. The same waste can be utilized in a productive manner. One particular industry should be opened which only uses waste products as its raw material. In society all the products should be made using waste material and thus will be available at affordable prices and also pollution can be controlled to a great extent.

Petrol and Diesel Retailing

It has been observed that people are driving their vehicle on the road and suddenly the petrol tank gets empty. Thus, people have to struggle a lot to find a petrol pump which is usually not available everywhere. Thus, petrol and diesel should be retailed through an organized dealer of petrol pumps with all precautions in general merchants as well as malls.

Friendship Bureau Personal issues in life are generally created now and then. People think about business and what not but nobody cares about the personal relations. Due to issues in personal life even the performance in the professional area is affected. Mental satisfaction is missing in daily life on several people. Many people even suffer from depression. The idea is to open a friendship bureau where strangers can come and can become friends. Later, they

can settle their life with each other if they want. This way, the level of mental satisfaction in the young generation can be achieved as the young generation is responsible for the global growth. People can register their names and can get membership.

Research Methodology

In research methodology we not only talk about the research methods but also consider the logic behind the methods we use in the context of our research study. Collecting the data: Primary data is collected through survey. Collection of data through survey can be done in the following ways. 1) By observation : The information obtained relates to what is currently happening. 2) By questionnaires: The information is obtained by close ended questions. All the above research is made by taking sample size of 50. Some of the close ended questions that were discussed are as follows: What is your most important need ? i. ii. iii. food cloth shelter

Data Summary

The data collected provides information about customers basic needs, causes of inflation, main problems in agriculture sector ,deprived goods and services. Time and money are the most crucial factors in any market.

Inferences and findings Recession is not only the root cause of this downturn . There are several other reasons. Generally people have a common misconception that downturn of any economy leads to threat but they are wrong. If we minutely observe then we find that from threats only opportunities can be identified which results in downturn to upturn. Great innovation is required in agriculture as well as service sector. Any suggestion is most welcome. There is always a scope of improvement.
