Baby Dumping CHILD is a priceless gift from Allah SWT.

However, baby dumping is a social crisis and has achronic increase as many cases are occurring in Malaysian society. The baby dumping refers todiscarding or leaving alone, for an extended period of time, a child younger than 12 months of age in apublic or private setting with the intent to dispose of the child. Based on Bukit Aman PoliceHeadquarters statistics found a total of 580 babies were found dumped between year 2000 to 2006.This number of cases increase every year where as much as 65 baby dumping cases has increased to 83cases in the year 2006. In the first 5 months, almost everyday there are reports on dumped babycases. You read it on the front page of the newspaper or see it on the nightly news...a newborn babyfound in a back alley. This scenario had been more serious from day to day although there are a lotabout this in the mass media.Mostly, among teenagers always seen to be involved in this situation. Teenage parents give birthin a motel room and leave the child for dead in a dumpster. A girl gives birth in a school bathroom atnight. throws the baby into the garbage or in the toilet. These stories relate to one of the mostfrightening realities of our culture today: some children are viewed as problems to be thrown awayrather than gifts to be treasured. More recently, the tragedy of Baby Dumping has begun to beaddressed by state legislatures throughout the nation. For example, a number of states have passedlaws to provide funding, care, and services for dumped children. These legislative actions have alsoestablished 'safe houses' - public centers such as fire stations, police stations, and other public areaswhere women can bring unwanted children rather then leave them in trash receptacles. The hope isthat, by offering an alternative to dumping, women might leave their children with people who can helpthe baby. Surprisingly, these cases have got a lot of attention from the community. So, what are the bestopinions and ways that should be taken to prevent this scenario from spreading?Child dumping is the practice of dumping offspring outside of legal adoption. The dumped child iscalled a foundling or throwaway. According to a reliable statistics, one baby is dumped every week. Afigure that has trebled in the past decades. Causes include many social and cultural factors as well asmental illness. One factor that leads to child dumping is teenage pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy is defined as ateenage or underage girl becoming pregnant. This pregnancy of teenagers are a mere result of thegratification of sexual urges. That pregnancy might not happen only if studies were prioritized ratherthan having relationships with the opposite sex. No premarital sex, no early pregnancy. Worst thingabout this is that it is the child that will suffer. If not aborted, they are dumped by their biologicalparents.Another factor is the family break-up. Family break-ups happen after a long period of misunderstandings, fighting and unhappiness. Sometimes they happen suddenly and it is hard tounderstand why there needs to be change at all. Children are mostly affected by this kind of situation. If both their mother and father

decided to a divorce and one cannot raise their child alone, tendency isthat they will dump their child. This child will become homeless and found himself alone

Poverty is also another factor that causes child dumping. Persons in cultures with poor socialwelfare systems who are not financially capable of taking care of a child are more likely to dumphim/her. Political conditions, such as difficulty in adoption proceedings, may also contribute to childdumping, as can the lack of institutions, such as orphanages, to take in children whom their parentscannot support. Societies with strong social structures and liberal adoption laws tend to have lowerrates of child dumping. Psychologists believe that even short-term dumping can damage a child s emotional and socialdevelopment. Even short separations could have a negative effect on the child s ability to form closerelationships, said Dr Michael Boulton, a child psychologist at the University of Keele. Babies oftenform attachments with their mother before birth. They know their mother s smell and turn to themwhen anxious or distressed. If they suddenly find they have gone it can be very damaging." Dr Boulton said that mothers who dump their children normally do so under desperatecircumstances. Having one s first child is the most stressful experience someone can go through. Youngmothers can be vulnerable, especially if they are alone and do not have the experience or social supportto cope. PREVENTION Long-term solutions to the problem of baby dumping require efforts at prevention. Steps must be takento prevent unwanted pregnancies, provide assistance to parents in crisis, and increase communicationwithin families and communities. Sexuality Education Baby dumping presumably results from unwanted pregnancy. To prevent baby dumping, it is thereforeultimately necessary to educate individuals about sexuality. We supports age-appropriatecomprehensive sexuality education, and recommends that schools and communities providecomprehensive sexuality education to all youth and families. Responding to Unwanted Pregnancy Individuals experiencing unwanted pregnancies must receive support and services. Communities shouldexamine their capacity to provide the range of supports and services needed by individuals experiencingunwanted pregnancies. These services must also be publicized; people cannot use services that they donot know about. Finally, education efforts should strive to increase communication among youth, families, and communities. Increased communication may minimize the shame and secrecy associatedwith an unwanted pregnancy and make young people more likely to take advantage of supports andservices in their families and communities. Empower recommends that all state governments take the initiative to:

1. develop more centers for mothers and babies that will make women feel safe and secure to seek helpand support 2. develop counseling for the young fathers to understand responsibility, accountability and to treatwomen with respect and as equals 3. advocate for the implementation of a comprehensive sex education and for the Ministry of Educationto conduct full training for all teachers on sex education that promotes safety, security and respectfulsocial relationships. This is a long term solution which will educate the young to make responsible decisions and to beaccountable for the consequences of their relationships, and to take preventive measures to protectthemselves against sexual violence. The other ways to prevent this problem are :focusing the prevention programs towards the regions and categories of population with increasedrisks of dumping; - setting up a coherent reporting and monitoring system as regards the dumping and the risk of abandonment; - hiring social workers in all sanitary units depending on the number of doctors existing in the unit; - hiring community medical assistants and physicians in all the communities presenting increased risks of dumping; - standardizing the written forms and the procedures of registering women which get admitted inmaternities in order to give birth; - elaborating procedures for keeping records of mothers and children without identity papers andcreating a database on this matter." Having sex after marriage is safer and it can reduce the abortion and baby dumping rate. It also helpsus be more responsible and not to have sex just to satisfy our lust " Effect on Baby Dumping There are three effects of Baby dumping. That is effects on individuals, the Baby and society. Theeffect of individuals is cause by illegal way of aborting the child and left a bad effect on them because of the wrong path, they use to abort the baby just like herbs and alcoholic substances. So, the individual willhave high risk of death caused by bleeding and infection on mothers womb's. A professional consultantGynecology, Prof. Dr. Harlina Halizah Siraj, from "Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia"(HUKM),saidthis illegal abortion does not take into account the health's aspects could cause harm because it doesnot follow the procedure that are conducted by unprofessional groups. Another way is dangerous and isnot clean by inserting foreign objects into the womb. Women involved who do abortion without propermedical procedures take high risks facing death following infection and bleeding in the uterus. Inaddition, it is potentially experiencing bleeding in the stomach

which can cause the woman unconsciousor worse death. Womb also suffered injuries when doing an abortion because those who perform themare traditionally not qualified will use sharp objects such as wood, twigs or wooden sticks. Bleedingsometimes can not be detected quickly, but take a long time. There are not aware of them until theybleed unconscious. Dr Zainul said, the long period of time, it is difficult for pregnant women to do abortion becausethe process can also cause bowel and uterus problems when sticks channel ovarian one clogged. If awoman is pregnant she may experience a pregnancy outside the womb. For those who had sufferedinjuries before, the uterus can rupture according to the statistics of death among infants who are notremoved by those spontaneously and cause death.Otherwise, the effects of abortion also can causepsychological effects on the mental and emotions after marriage, especially depression, especially whenage is often thought of as the content is never removed. Dysphonic effects include experience in thewomb, which raised pain more than experience during the menstrual process. EFFECT ON INFANTS *Infant mortality rate is higher due to medical care is not perfect * according to statistics infant mortality by irresponsible person in 2 years ago, had increased 135 casefrom 2008 to 2009. *cause contempt, regarded by society as adults *problem if you want to marry because there is no guardian *difficult for schools because there is no birth registration EFFECTS ON SOCIETY -Cause the abortion will be mimicked by others.most cases of baby dumping in the county are using the same way that removes a newborn baby intothe trash. This shows there is replication of their cruel way to remove the baby into the the trash.-the case has become wide.-negative views from society. (http://www.scribd.com/doc/78244538/Baby-Dumping)

Illegal Street Racing: An Examination of Causes

Illegal street racing is a growing trend, and has been since the advent of the automobile, but in recent years there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of street races. There are several possible causes for this trend such as: a recent installment of several car and car racing movies that may have inspired young drivers to race, young drivers seek new ways to satisfy their hunger for adrenaline, and its just another way that teenagers can prove themselves to one another, feel good about themselves, and achieve celebrity status.

What exactly is street racing? According to my sources it is any of the following: two guys showing up at a stop light and trying to out-race each other." (Armijo) or an organized race, (Thompson) where upwards of twenty or thirty people show up to race each other. Oftentimes, the racers will place bets on which car will win, or even on how long until the cops show. Normally, a race isnt organized and typically goes like this: a driver will pull up to a red light, and rev his engine to another driver to signify that he wants to race. If the other driver accepts his offer, he too will rev his engine. Then, the light turns green and the drivers jam the accelerator pedal. Most of the time, a street race like this is a short one that ends when it is clear who the winner is. These types of races are very dangerous and can cause many accidents. Street racing can be considered a form of aggressive driving. Each year, until about 5 years ago, the number of deaths and injuries related to Illegal Street racing had increased steadily. Due to new laws and increased incarceration, the numbers now have begun to go down. Nationwide statistics show that 49 people are injured for every 1,000 who participate in illegal street racing. (NHRA). To further support this trend, some data was taken from San Diegos traffic statistics and from The Florida Department of Highway and Safety for motor Vehicles: In San Diego, where the street-racing problem has been termed "epidemic," 16 deaths and 31 injuries were directly related to Illegal street racing in 2001. The city's attorney's office prosecuted 147 illegal street racing cases in 1999, 161 in 2000, and 290 in 2001. In 1999, the Florida Department of Highway and Safety for Motor Vehicles reported 28 accidents related to illegal street racing, with 2 fatalities and 27 injuries. In 2000, the agency reported 39 racing accidents, with 1 fatality and 55 injuries. In 2002, there were 48 racing accidents, 1 fatality, and 60 injuries. (NHRA) For the data set from each location, the number of deaths and injuries related to illegal street racing has increased with each year that passed. But why was there an increase street race related accidents and injuries? Whats a better trendsetter then a good old Hollywood movie? Every time a good movie comes out, there is usually going to be movie spoofs and copycat films. In the case of street-racing movies, many moviegoers wish to experience the same thrills that the movie characters felt when they raced their cars. `Movies such as The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious do more harm than good; it promotes street racing, (Armijo). The thrill of the illicit races were depicted in last year's box office hit `The Fast and the Furious. But street racing doesn't always have a movie's happy ending (Powell). After the movies release in 2001, there was an increase of street races, and when the second movie came out in 2003, there was another rise in street races. (Armijo). But this cant be the only reason for the increase in street racing. According to RaceLegal.com, the number one reason to street race for teenagers is that they seek a thrill. They are looking for something to do and feel that by street racing, they can give themselves an adrenaline rush and have fun by doing something illegal. In some ways, teenagers may even feel passionate about racing and to them it may be a popular pastime (Thompson). To add more substance to this, a writer for the Los Angeles Time said the following in one of his articles:"A large percentage of the draw and the fun is getting chased by the cops, we can't stop street racing any more than a stop sign stops a car." (Haberman). Street racing is dangerous, and dangerous situations give people a sense of fear, which in turn causes adrenaline to enter their blood stream. The California Highway Patrol lists this reason among a list of several reasons that teenagers may engage in this type of activity.

Dangers of Street Racing

Teenagers also feel that they have to prove themselves to one another. Another excerpt from the L.A. Times, proves this point, `The big adventure in street racing is showing off in front of your friends, [a racer] said, adding that, `without the friends, the racing is far less fun. (Haberman). They enjoy the compliments they receive after winning the race. You could probably imagine that those include anything from That was an awesome race! to You went so fast that your tires almost melted! Its compliments like these that make the racer feel good about himself and may make him want to race again. Through racing, teenagers can receive attention from their peers and ultimately achieve status as an established racer. Having a fast, expensive, and good-looking car will earn them respect on the road (and attention from the police). With street racing, teenagers can easily create an `awesome car for themselves which both brings them physical and emotional satisfaction and fame and status. And when fame and status come, popularity and materialistic wealth will follow. For some of Americas youth, this reason alone makes it worth it to race illegally. What if these arent really the reasons that teenagers street race? What if the only reason they street race is because its illegal and theycan? Young people, often think that adults have forgotten how to appreciate the very meaning and thrill of life. Youths are rebellious, and adults see the rebellion as one step shy of a crime. (Chabad). So really one could say that teenagers are inherently rebellious, and will do a lot of illegal stuff anyway, including street racing. Also stated, rebellion is a phase that usually dissipates around 25 or earlier. And when comparing the age that rebellion ends to the age that teenagers stop racing, you can see that there is a correlation. The age group of street racers is exactly the same as the age group for rebellious teenagers. One street race driver was quoted as saying, If it were legal, it would remove some of the fun from doing it, and [wed] probably race less. (Haberman). The reasons for the increase in the trend of illegal street racing may truly be unknown, but we can all speculate about the reasons. Through speculation and research, Ive concluded that illegal street racers race for three main reasons: they race because Hollywood and the movies make it seem cool, it gives the racers a thrill and an adrenaline rush, and the fact that winning races makes you feel good and brings you popularity.

The Moral Decay of Society

Ironically, while the moral decay of society could be considered more subjective than other prophecy-related topics we study, such as natural disasters, economics, and geopolitics, I believe anyone with a reasonably discerning spirit can see that moral decay is happening now at an alarming and noticeable rate. We need only watch the news and observe the people around us to see it. The decay of our accepted morals began slowly, and it has taken several decades (centuries, even) for us to reach the place we are now at. Not unlike the proverbial "frog in a boiling pot of water," the heat was slowly turned up until we looked around and realized how dangerous a situation we are now in. Recently, however, it seems society's morals are declining faster than ever. Visit with a young person who attends a public high school (or, sadly, even middle school), and ask what the morals are like among his or her peers. If the person is candid with you, then prepare to be shocked by the language and attitudes of today's youth. If you are an adult thirty years or older, chances are you will note an obvious difference between the morals of youth today and those of when you went to school. Today's public schools are not as worried about kids bringing chewing gum to school but, rather, about kids bringing guns, knives, and drugs to school. Profanity, rather than being confined to locker rooms and playgrounds, is now commonplace in halls and classrooms. Sexual overtures, harassment, and crude behavior are all notable among many U.S. teens. Bill Bennett, former U.S. Secretary of Education, notes that from 1960 to 1993 there has been a 560 percent increase in violent crime, a 419 percent increase in illegitimate births, a quadrupling in divorce rates, a tripling of the percentage of children living in single-parent homes, more than a 200 percent increase in the teenage suicide rate, and a drop of almost eighty points in SAT scores.1 A Look at the Entertainment Industry Without adding to the debate about whether the entertainment industry reflects society, or vice versa, I will just say that most anyone can easily see that the entertainment industry has dramatically changed over the years (particularly television shows and movies). We have gone from the days when it was risqu to say something like "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" in a movie, to the fbomb being dropped often and unashamedly. Consider the stark contrast in TV shows like The Lone Ranger, Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows Best, The Brady Bunch, The Cosby Show, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Gilligan'sIsland, and many more to the likes of what the television industry considers entertainment today. Blasphemy of God's name, explicit sexual scenes, nudity, extreme violence, adultery, fornication, drug use, disobedient children, and a

host of other equally bad themes are prevalent (and arguably more the norm than not) in today's movies and television shows. It is quite difficult for a Christian family to find a good movie the family can watch without compromising their values. Unfortunately, it is a sad reality that many families, including Christian families, readily compromise their values and accept that this is just "how it is."2 The question all Christians should ask themselves each time they watch a movie is, "Would Jesus approve of what I am about to watch and feed my heart and mind with?" Put another way, if you profess to be a Spirit-filled Christian, would you watch that movie knowing the Holy Spirit is there with you? Note: my family found the ClearPlay DVD Player to be an invaluable tool for filtering unwanted content from movies we would not otherwise consider watching. Visit THIS PAGE for details about this great DVD player. Sinful Lifestyles Lived Openly and Unashamedly Homosexuality is one of the most obvious examples of sinful lifestyles being lived openly and unashamedly, as the efforts to force acceptance of it continue. Today, people who embrace that lifestyle deceive themselves into thinking that if they can get the church to accept it, then that will mean that God accepts it as well. Regrettably, they become agitated at people who stand upon the Word of God and explain that it is not condoned by God. One needs only to refer to any of the following verses to see that God's Word is very clear about the matter:

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creatorwho is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. (Romans 1:26-27) Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

Before I leave the topic of homosexuality being a sin, I want to note that it is very important that we show love to everyone, which certainly includes homosexuals, who are trapped in the lie Satan and society is all too willing to help perpetrate. Yet it's equally important to realize that condoning the sin is not possible if one is to adhere to God's Word. In fact, politely explaining to people that their sin is not condoned by God actually is showing them considerably more love than pretending it's all just

fine in God's eyes. I cannot emphasize enough that to be effective, it must be done diplomatically and lovingly as opposed to harshly or otherwise in a manner inconsistent with Jesus' own actions. As for other trends indicating a dramatic moral decline, we also can include the abundance of pornography, which, due to the Internet and cable and satellite TV, has exploded in availability faster than ever before. The same is true of gambling. Today's headlines are filled with news of child abuse, domestic violence, violence being committed by young teenagers, alcohol and drug abuse, and theft (especially in the form of piracy via the Internet). In fact, much of it is being done openly and unashamedly, and it is discussed and even bragged about as if there is nothing wrong with it. Only recently has abortion been performed to the massive extent that it is today. In fact, in the 1800s all states had laws against abortion, and the practice was considered wrong by even nonChristians.
