Its our goal to work with a broad scope of clients using a wide range of software to create their work. However, with the sheer number of programs and versions available today, we obviously cant fully support every single program or file format. In general, when considering which file format to use, files that support vector are generally a better choice, especially if your project contains text or line art. The chart on the next page lists a wide variety of file formats and gives information about each. Weve also rated each format from five stars to zero stars based on this scale:
These file formats are our preferred file formats. We routinely work with these file types and typically have the ability to open them and easily make them press ready. These file formats can compromise printing quality, making them less than ideal choices. These file formats are other good choices for professional printing but we can accept these files only if they are exported as a PDF and may be limited in what we can do to solve any issues. Projects submitted in these formats may be subject to additional fees if complex conversions and fixes are necessary. The following formats are not recommended for professional printing. We may be able to accept documents created in these programs if they are converted to PDF. Many of these formats can have significant issues with color and resolution if images are included, but may be good choices for text heavy projects. Extra fees may apply if extensive fixes are needed. We do not support these formats.
