The Presenters

Dr Penny Caldicott, B.Med., FRACGP General Practitioner


Penny is a founding member and director of ITH. She has helped to create an environment that respects and integrates the best of evidence based conventional and complementary medicine, thus facilitating physical and emotional healing. She is particularly focused on the cause of disease and on aiding the body to find a healthy biochemical resilience. Penny is actively involved in training medical students and GP registrars and has a passion for sharing knowledge and pathways for treating the complex health issues that we currently face.

Dr Nicole Avard, B.Med., FRACGP. General Practitioner


Nicole joined Invitation to Health in 2005, reinforcing her mainstream practices, while also expanding her passion for treating disease processes at an emotional and spiritual level. Nicole enjoys sharing knowledge and skills with the complementary therapists, working in a team environment. She has an interest in nutritional medicine and has been treating adults and children, biomedically for 6 years after completing her Pfeiffer and MINDD training. Nicole also supports GP registrar education, helping them understand the value of nutritional medicine.

Dr Jane Shapiro, MB,ChB, FRACGP. General Practitioner


Dr Shapiro qualified in Bristol, UK and has been in practice for more than 18 years. Jane joined Invitation to Health in 2009 and has enjoyed integrating her clinical experience with other practitioners as well as applying biochemical and nutritional medicine into her patient care. Jane has experience in emergency medicine, psychological medicine, aboriginal health, and also has a special interest in adolescent and sexual health.

Katia Twyford, registered Osteopath, Katia trained in England and has been practising for 16 years internationally. Her treatment approach includes fascial and functional techniques, as well as the cranial technique. She also incorporates other modalities like sound healing and imagery to help the whole person to heal. Rosemary Blundo-Grimison Dip
Dram Art, Eating Disorders Creative Arts Therapist, Teacher

Trained in Art and Dance Movement Therapy, Rosemary provides the creative arts component of the Central Coast Eating Disorders Day Program, which runs here at ITH. Rosemary is also a trained facilitator of Molecular Vibrations, a sound healing modality.
