THE RIFLE PLATOON The US Marines Rifle Platoon, after the reorganization of early 1944, is a strong and very flexible unit really adapted to the combat against the hard fighter Japaneses. It has a tremendous firepower with its nine BARs and also a high number of support elements. On the other hand, due to the great number of casualties in combat, the many replacements cause that there are not Elite units (and the Marines dont like elites), but the entire front-line platoons can be considered as Regular, at least. The Medical Orderly is free for a USMC Platoon, representing in this way the great number of Docs the Marines had in their units. The Radio Operator can be used as a link with Artillery Support. Most of the support options on the list are self-explanatory and their qualities are covered by the National Arsenal Table. All tanks and armored combat vehicles come with a Junior Leader. Transport only vehicles, such as the jeep, are simply vehicles which come with no crew. Remember to allocate men to drive these. The Dog Scout Team uses the same rules as the US Scout teams. The US Army Infantry Squad is the normal one from the US Rifle Platoon, with all its rules and equipment.

The 60mm mortar has not smoke rounds and only fires High Explosive ammunition. It has a minimum range of 18. The Shotgun can be used as an Assault Rifle with only Close range. US NATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS. Fire on Movement. When a Leader is attached to a Team or Squad and uses two or more Command Initiatives to activate them, they may move with 1 D6 and fire at full effect or move with 2 D6 and fire with half the normal dice. They also re-roll any 1 rolled. Scouts. When a US Squad Leader sends out his Scout Team, it may move with 1 D6 or 2 D6 and assume a Tactical stance at the end of its movement. If it is within line of sight of its Squad Leader he can activate it for one Command Initiative without being in command range. THE US MARINES ARSENAL TABLE.
