1 Great companies understand the difference between what should never change and what should be open for change, between what is genuinely sacred and what is not.2 Successful companies have fixed core values and a core purpose but their business strategies and practices changes as they continually adapt to a changing world. This is the reason why a multinational corporation like the Coca-Cola Company is one of the most successful business organizations since 1886. With its vision which is to be the best bottler in the world, recognized for its operating excellence and the quality of its people,3 they are able to renew themselves throughout time and achieve superior long-term performance. Undeniably, wherever you go, almost everybody knows Coca-Cola. It is the most recognized trademark in the world, available everywhere from Australia to Zambia. Along with Coca-Cola, recognized as the worlds most valuable brand, its portfolio includes 14

other billion dollar brands, including Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Coca-Cola Zero, vitaminwater, Powerade, Minute Maid, Simply and Georgia.4 The Cola-Cola Company enjoys the privilege of vertical integration through both forward and backward linkage operations. It has its own plants for producing raw materials and own diverse and well equipped distribution channel for distributing its finished products. In fact, consumers in more than 200 countries enjoy the Companys beverages at a rate of 1.7 billion servings a day.5 For one hundred years6 and on, Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI), one of the biggest 10 Coca Cola bottlers globally7, offers the widest selection of beverages for different needs like soft drinks, water juices, teas, sports and energy drinks in the Philippines. Behind CCBPIs success in making every Filipino occasion special and even in turning ordinary moments together with family and friends extraordinary, lies a hierarchy of effective leaders who have come together to plan and make decisions, to organize, to lead, and to monitor and correct CCBPIs ongoing activities to facilitate attainment of their goals and objectives, primarily, in meeting the demands of their customers each and every day. As part of its marketing strategy, CCBPI expand its market in the Philippine regions by maximizing its potential in meeting customer demands at the least possible total cost through the addition of new plants in different provinces. Currently, CCBPI has 23 plants nationwide, one of which is located in Tacloban City and has a total land area of 2.40 hectares. CCBPI Tacloban Plant is responsible for the production, bottling, marketing, and sales distribution of Coca-Cola products in Eastern Visayas.

The production flow of CCBPI Tacloban Plant begins from unloading the empty returnable glass bottles (RGBs) collected from supermarkets and sari-sari stores. Through electronic inspection, the returned bottles are inspected to ensure that they are not chipped and not cracked. Along with the new and returned bottles, the RGBs are then sorted into various sizes before being cleaned. In the cleaning unit, they are washed in special detergents and thoroughly rinsed to ensure sparkling, clean and sanitary bottle. Here, the bottles are cleaned, steamed, and sanitized to rid them of any dirt and debris. This is done by jet streams and water. The bottles are then visually inspected to ensure that they are clean, not chipped and not cracked. Each bottle is then passed through an electric inspection, searching for the tiniest
