Watching TV (FTV and Sinetron) is Bad for Children

Today, people of different races and generations become victims of TV addiction. Some people watch television because they want to be updated about what is happening in the world. They want to be aware and get connected with different people all around the globe. Nowadays, not only adults and adolescent, but also children, get hooked on television. Because of the busy world people are living in today, parents do not have time to take care and look after their children at all times anymore. Therefore, children have more freedom to do whatever they want, and in this case, watch whatever TV show they want be it classified as A, RBO, R and D. It cant be avoided that children will see FTV and sinetron on TV or we can call according to research, an average of 20-25 violent acts are shown in CHILDRENS television programs each hour. so, watching TV is bad for children. FTV Or Sinetron are profitable in Indonesia, because it broadcasted in main time (6 pm until 9 pm) resulting advertising revenue. Many companies used main time to promote their products to customer, and they think that people in Indonesia would be attracted to buy their product. People, especially mothers in Indonesia, teenagers until children liked sinetron so much, I think it is not good for children. Almost sinetron or FTV in television showed violence and evil. There is no education substance, and sold non sense dreams like prosperity, love, moneys, and it showed that moneys and prosperity is everything. In Fact Many people just watch their favorite FTV and Sinetron so Make decreasing of morality for teenagers, our sinetron show cruelty and bad behavior to their parents, they show that money get so easy, and it make our people lazy and cruel. Researchers have found that children are more precocious after watching FTV sinetron. This is because childrens minds are not yet that completely developed, that is why they are not fully capable of distinguishing right from wrong. Most children just tend to believe and imitate everything they see, even on TV. Especially when they see the celebrity they idolize do love acts, children will most probably imitate him or her. Watching TV is nearly equal to watching violence. Based from the Television Monitoring Project, 65% of TV shows contain FTV or Sinetron which can also mean that out of 15 times of watching TV, there is only 25% chance of watching a show that has no violence in it. Media stimulates fear in some children and makes them believe that the world is easy living than it really is. It can make children do love like an actor or actress do in television.

In research there is Junior high school student moreover elementary student already have boy or girl friend. It indicate if children like watch FTV or love sinetron, they will be try to imitate what are their idol do in television. This act can broke the moral of children. In fact in television there is news about junior high school do sex with him girlfriend. It indicated him moral already broke. I think if the moral of children already broken so this nation will broke too, because there are motto children is nation-building. But there are many positives scenes show for children, for example about education, career, sport, news etc. this scene show can make the children have many knowledge for their future and have good moral and mental. It can be said that watching TV is also like watching Violence. Violence already cannot be prevented on FTV or sinetron that are why watching television is bad for children because it causes precocious. Television can have positive effects on children but a bigger chance of having negative effects. Television can negatively affect childrens performance in school, lifestyle, career, family, and even their future. Parents control very needful to give positive scenes show in television.
