Graphing Trig Functions: Complete 5 of tasks listed below. Please provide proof of the completion to your instructor once you finish a task. No
task may be repeated.

Visual Create a poster of 1 of the trig functions. The poster should contain the functions name, graph, table of important points and what it looks like shifted (at least 2 shifts).

Auditory Group Learner Create a jingle or poem/short story about the different trig functions. Your creation should help the class remember how the different functions look when graphed. In a small group (no more than 4 students) construct a human trig function. Show this to the teacher and explain the different parts. Using a recording device (phone, ipod, laptop), create a sound file of you singing a representation of 2 different trig functions. An example of this would be to vary your pitch or volume along with the graph.

Kinesthetic Expressiveness Using pipe cleaners construct a graph of sine and cosine on a piece of construction paper (2 periods). Make sure to label key points on the axes. With a group or by yourself, use the CBR to create a sine or cosine graph. Try to adjust the period and amplitude. Create a dance routine, or cheer that demonstrates to me that you know what sine, cosine, tangent, cotangent, cosecant, and secant look like. Demonstrate this in front of your instructor.

Individual Learner Create a 10 question quiz with a key. That tests a students ability to graph different trig functions that are shifted. The quiz should also test a students ability to recognize different trig functions from their graphs. On a separate sheet of paper complete 15-33 (odds) on page 441 of your Pre-calculus book. Turn in to the instructor once you finish. Write a story about a scenario dealing with a trig function. An example would be a hiker hiking a very hilly trail, or how astronauts train for zero gravity in their parabolic flights. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reduced _gravity_aircraft ) The story must have at least one direct reference to a trig function.

On one graph, using multiple colors, graph sine, cosine and tangent. Be sure to label your axes and create a key. Instruction and Delivery

Create a flip book of the 6 different trig graphs. The book should have the graphs, amplitudes, and periods of each trig function.

Mr. Monaghan Visual Create a piece of art (drawing, painting, sculpture) that uses at least 2 of the trig functions. On a separate sheet of paper point out where each trig function and what function you used. Auditory Group Learner With a partner and a calculator play 3 rounds (each) of Guess that trig graph. One partner graphs a trig function with no more than 2 shifts (amplitude, period, vertical shift horizontal shift) and hands it too the other student. That student using the graph and its table must guess the trig functions. Keep in mind there will be more than one right answer so be sure to graph each attempt. Show the instructor the question and attempts once finished. Kinesthetic Expressiveness In the school (with a pass) find 3 different examples of a sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, or cotangent. The example cannot be a graph of the functions. Individual Learner Create a test review. It should have each of the 6 trig graphs on it, with all the points labeled and 4 problems of your choice from the pre-calculus book.
