1. Read the chapter carefully and do the activities on pages 12 and 13 of the book.

2. Make a mind map with all the information we learn about Peter Quint in chapter 2.

3. What happens in chapter 2? Find 6 (six) mistakes in this summary written by a student.

At the beginning of the chapter the governess feels confused. She has
just seen a woman on the tower. She thinks the man on the tower may
be someone in the family or a salesman but she isn’t sure. The
governess decides to ask Mrs Grose about the man on the tower.
When she is with Miles and Peter Quint, the governess is very happy.
She thinks the children are wonderful. Then one day, when she is
going to the tower, the governess sees Peter Quint in the church.
She’s terrified.

4. Read chapter 2 attentively. Are these true or false? Correct the false statements.
