Section A [20 marks] [This question is compulsory] Q1. [20 marks] (a) An engineer is the head of engineering department in a profit making company managed by a non-engineer CEO. Advise the engineer on how to write a request letter to the CEO to approve maintenance budget for a revenue generating lab. In your professional advice please take the CEOs perception on the communication skills of the engineers into consideration. (10 marks) Create an engineering scenario involving an ethical problem based on Duty and Right theories and relate your discussion to some ethical problems faced by engineers in your filed of study. (10 marks)

Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions. Analyze this Quranic dictum within the concept of engineering professionalism.

Q3. [10 marks] Explain two differences between man-made laws and ethics in addressing the concept of safety.

Q4. [10 marks] Evaluate any five ethical codes of IEEE from Islamic perspective. Support your answers with Quranic ayat. (Verses). 2
