Research field: Major: TESOL or TEFL (or related field) Minor: Area Studies, Curriculum Development, Comparative Culture or Japan Studies 5. Content of work: Teach classes in the English language program, Cultural Studies of English Speaking Regions, Area Studies, and Seminars in Communication Studies. 6. Starting date: April 1, 2010. 7. Qualifications: Native Speaker of English. Relevant MA or above, PhD preferred, with special competence in language teaching. Understanding and appreciation for the Christian philosophy of the college. Working proficiency of Japanese language is required in order to participate in committee work and community relations. Must agree to live in Shibata City or nearby area. 8. Application Materials: (1) Resume/ Curriculum Vitae with e-mail address. (2) List of publications with 3 major publications indicated with a check mark or circle. A summary of each of these three publications. (In Japanese, 400 characters OR in English, 200 words) (3) Copies of the 3 publications. (4) 1 or 2 recent letters of reference from persons who can evaluate applicant’s teaching and educational background, as well as comment objectively on the applicant’s personal character. (5) An essay on “My Educational Philosophy”. (In Japanese, 2000 characters OR in English, 1000 words.) 9. Application deadline: September 18, 2009 (Friday).
