Summary Educational Tour

I am a type of person that couldnt sleep if excited. I hardly felt asleep last night. I was

excited for our tomorrows trip at Cebu. February 19, 2012 The day we were waiting. It was indeed a pleasant morning. I woke up early and fixed my things. By and by I stared at my alarm clock. I was so excited. The time on my alarm clock was a little after eight o clock in the Our and morningdeparture checked too time my early was for 10:00 I me to go So, to I

A.M. So lucky because the RM Liner arrived when I exactly reached the school. We leave Tibiao at exactly 10:00 A.M. Jelyn, Nang Eve and I sat at the front seat. Unlike others, we didnt sleep on our way to Iloilo. We talked so much and shared our food. So far, eating while talking is the best combination. At past 1:00 P.M., we reached Iloilo. We stopped at Domengs Talabahan for a lunch. Only few get out the bus. It seemed that everybody was full. After

lunch, we continue our travel. We travelled for almost

an hour to San Pedro Port. We reached the place at approximately 4:00 P.M. There, our accompanied

teachers bought ticket for us. During the distribution of tickets, Maam Joyce told me and some of my

classmates to go with her later because we only have the same room. We felt sad because we will be

separated with some of our classmates. As we took a look at our ticket, we knew that we will be riding at Trans- Asia. The usual departure time of the ship is 6:00 P.M. It was 5:00 P.M. when we were permitted by the staff of the ship to get inside. There was still 1hour of waiting. One hour was too long at that time. To avoid the boredom, everybody went at their

respective groups. Chika- Chika time. Some were busy taking pictures for remembrance. There was something funny happened in the ship. I think it was twice when we evacuated our bed. From temporary room to tourist room and vice versa. We were comfortable at the tourist room. There were only few occupying it. The toilet was clean and the bed was inviting you to take a nap. We were through

appreciating the TR and here comes the staff of the ship. Maam Joyce misinterpreted the label in our

ticket which is T. We thought that T stands for

tourist instead it stands for temporary. Pshaw! Again, return to economy or temporary room. Return to

reality. But it was ok, so that we can join in the bonding moments of our section. We hardly fell asleep at that night. February 20, 2012 We woke up early. First come, first serve policy at the CR. I took a bath at little before 2:00 A.M. After my hair dried, I returned to sleep. I woke up again before %:00 A.M. I was amazed and mesmerized with what I saw around. The squatter area on my left side and very beautiful and elegant houses on my

right. At 6:00 A.M, we already viewed some buildings and infrastructures of Cebu from the ship. How much more if we got there. The ship passed under Mactan Bridge. From the ship, we saw vehicles passing at the bridge. When we got at the port of Cebu, there were boats hurried to get nearer at the ship. They were Bajaos. They asked for some food, money, etc. from the

passengers of the ship. I enjoyed watching them diving just to get the coin and food at the water. At the same time, I pity with them. I did my part, I threw my

five pesos and candies from my pocket. I was happy the event with that small amount and simple thing, I

helped. It was quarter to 7:00 A.M. when my foot first stepped at Cebu. At last, I was in Cebu. Cebu..Cebu.. The Little Hongkong. We took a walked few meters from the seaport. While walking, I looked around. I looked for the bus that will tour us for our two days and one night stay at the place. The bus was not yet around. We waited for a couple of minutes before the bus arrived. Everybody hurried to get inside the bus and looked for their seats. In one bus, our section and the BSCS were merged. As we sat at our respective seats inside the bus, the man started talking. He introduced himself and the driver. He is Mr. Ian Capisnon, our tour guide for the entire duration of the tour and Mang Willy, the driver of the bus. They gave us a very warm welcome. It seemed that everybody was tired. At 7:00 A.M., they led us to Sugbahan Grill for the buffet

breakfast. There, we fell in line and waited for our turn. We ate quietly. After our breakfast, we went at GV Tower Hotel to check-in and freshen up. The other

bus reached the hotel first. When we entered at the ground floor of the hotel, we saw other sections tried to group themselves according to the accommodation of the room they will have. Luckily, we got a room that can accommodate nine persons. I, Jelyn, Lesiel, Eve Rose, Grace, Karen, Myra and Jessa occupied one room. For the first time in my life, I rode in elevator. With the used of elevator, we reached our room faster and without more effort. As a first timer, we need to be vigilant. Key is not applicable instead card. We followed the instructions written at back of card. We swiped the card and the door opened. We hurriedly get inside the room and choose our bed. We simply put our baggage/ things inside the room. And, returned at the tourist bus. We started our proper tour at around 9:00 A.M. Our first destination was JP Morgan Chase and Company. We fell in line outside the building. The guard let us entered by 10. Before we can get inside at the venue of lecture, we first wrote our name for registration. As we entered in the room, a young lady gave us a paper that contains some important information about the company. After the short presentation, she

dismissed us. We went outside the room. Outside, we

took pictures. She offered us a drink. She brought us to a machine that can easily give what we desired to drink. She explained how to use the machine. There, I experienced to drink a cold mocha by just simply

pressing the button. We took pictures at the company together with Ms. Kristine (Im not really sure!). We ate our lunch at Jos Inato Salinas. What they offered was almost the same with Mang Inasal. At 1:30 P.M., we went at University of San

Carlos(formerly called Collegio de San Ildefonso). The oldest school in the Philippines and one of the

prestigious university of the country. The students were hospitable especially those who conducted lecture to us. They the gave room. us In a warm welcome as we entered room, a

The Magellans Cross is housed in a small chapel next to Basilica Minore del Santo Nio on Magallanes Street, just in front of the city hall of Cebu City. It was planted by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan for the glory of Spain. According to our tour guide, the cross we saw is only a replica of the

original. And the original cross is encased inside the wooden cross that is found inside the center of the chapel. To protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes or in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers. The cross symbolizes the Roman Catholicism and a tourist attraction in the Philippines. In front of this is a beautiful and colorful garden where we have picture taking. We also dropped in a place where Sto. Nio is. We passed as at the Colon first Street, and the Street in that the

Philippines. It is located in downtown area of Cebu City. It was named after Christopher Columbus, a

navigator, colonizer, and explorer from Genoa, Italy. It is one of the most crowded parts of Cebu and

sometimes makes a clogged up traffic.

We also dropped at Osmenas Mansion. A mansion of the late President Sergio Osmea. The thi9ngs there were already antique. Some of the furniture were

already damaged yet still preserved. We also take a looked on the books, memorabilia , clock, pictures, and paintings inside the mansion. And who can forget to take pictures in the car inside. At 7:00 P.M., we have our dinner at Cheavers. It was a dinner buffet. After eating, we crashed the rain just to buy an affordable otap for pasalubong. It was a very tiring day but when we got in the hotel, the tired we felt lost. We first arranged our things. When were done, Jelyn and I talked. Both of us agreed that we will explore the place. We took a walk. At the end, we saw a UNITOP and a sign of Gaisano Metro. One idea came into our mind, to go back at the hotel and invite our classmates. When we were about to return at the hotel, I didnt realized that we were taking the wrong road. It was good that Jelyn has a sense of direction and realized it. When we reached our room, we informed our

classmates of what we saw. Everybody agreed to go out except Bing2 and May2 who just stayed in the room.

Outside, our clumsiness bloomed. In the UNITOP, the guard told us that they were close. We asked around where Gaisano Metro in is, not of knowing the that we were We

crossed the street without seeing the bus coming near to us. At that time, what I felt was so bad. I was so scared and nervous thinking of what might happened. But the feeling fades when we went back in the hotel laughing. It was such a very unforgettable experience. Inside our room, we talked about silly things and

cracked some jokes that strengthen our relationship. The night became complete when the comedian started her presentation. Jelyn danced and danced. We really cant stop ourselves from laughing. She was so funny. My stomach ached and I cant stop the tears that

fallen while laughing. It seemed that we were in the Comedy Bar. We fell asleep at wee hour in the morning.

February 21, 2012 Our second day and at the same time our last day in Cebu. We woke up at 4:00 A.M. because we need to catch our itinerary. We fixed ourselves. By 6:00 A.M., we were fresh and ready. We went at the ground floor

where in front the tourist bus was waiting. We used the elevator to go downstairs. On the 7th floor, the elevator opened. Among inside the elevator, only Jelyn hurried to go outside. Not knowing that it was not yet the ground floor. She wasnt able to return until the elevator closed. As we reached the ground floor, we were still laughing about what happened. We looked for Jelyn but she was not around. Karen and I decided to return in the elevator to look for Jelyn in the 7th floor. Still, she was also not there. We were nervous. Knowing her, she might used the stairs and not able to return at the ground floor. Sir Orly saw us. He asked us if we are going to return the card. Blessing in disguised, the card was with me and I brought it. I gave it to the staff assigned in the front desk. From the hotel, we went at Sugbahan Grill for our breakfast. At 9:00 A.M., we proceed at the City Hall of Cebu City. Sir Ian led us to MICS Department where one of the employees explained their network topology and the functions of each network equipments they have.

D. Working with the Educational Tour Agency

Tour de Franz was the agency contacted by the school for our educational tour. This was owned by Sir Franz. Our tour guide was Mr. Ian Capisnon. I have

nothing negative to say against him or in his way of entertaining us. He was so nice. He always made us

laugh. He supplied and told us everything we need to know about Cebu. I gained a lot from his discussions and talks. Like some historical stories of Cebu. He knew how to manage the time. Imagine, just for two days, we were able to visit a lot of place in Cebu. He has a lot of techniques to get our attention, for us to avoid boredom and sleepy mode. He

entertained us by cracking some jokes and with a game Pinoy Henyo. To encourage us to join, he gave prizes to those who participated. He even asked Sir Tonton to join us just to give more fun. Also, it was from him where I knew the accurate and exact English word of muta and saying. Sir Ian, Sir Tonton, and Sir Orly were nice. As well as the Tour de Franz Agency.
