Characteristic features of Kaba gemini S system: 1. The Kaba gemini s system conforms to the following international standards: DIN 18252, EN 1303 class 5. The cylinder is RAL certified and also complies to the highest level of resistance to burglary resistance in Austrian standard NORM B 5338. 2. Kaba gemini S will provide normal master key capabilities but in addition will allow varied hierarchies with different functions. 3. Kaba gemini S is an ergonomically perfect reversible key system. This means the keys are entered vertically into the cylinder. 4. Central functions in a master key system are made without loss of security what means without split pins. 5. Kaba security key systems offer maximum protection for the customer. The keys of the system are copy protected by technical features and patent protection. The special shape of the key tip prevents unauthorized keys from fully entering the keyslot. Replacement keys are always produced in the Kaba factory and controlled by an authorized security card. 6. All Kaba gemini S keys are made of the very resistant material nickel-silver. Optionally the keys are available with long key head for armoured cylinders or with colored clip key head (standard: dark blue, further 11 colors are available). 7. The system has up to 16 pins per cylinder side. Maximum pick protection is gained by the use of specially formed pins. The block lengths of the pairs of pins always are identical - this means highest picking protection. Each of the up to 16 pairs of pins can be varied in several steps. The 3 rows of pins arranged radially around the cylinder centre dont have mutual limitations in function.

Kaba gemini S is an ergonomically perfect reversible key system. The up to 16 pin positions on each cylinder side are arranged in 3 rows radially around the key slot. This provides reliable anti pick protection against most modern devices. The additional permutations required for master key systems do not use split pins, which would lead to loss of security, but by a different arrangement of the pins in the cylinder Central locking is produced by a separate milling on the key therefore security is retained in individual cylinders. Kaba gemini S Euro profile cylinders are made as standard with superior drilling protection. All pins are of hardened steel chemically nickel plated. In addition there is a screw of hardened steel of diameter 4 mm in each side of the cylinder. Illegal copying of the reversible key is technically very difficult. The coding of the key is not made by drilling but by a special milling operation which disguises the position of the code. The key is very resistant against breakage as the cross sectional area between key head and key tip is never less than 17 mm2. Special marking of key and cylinder is possible according to the wishes of the user of the system. Replacement keys are only made when authorized by the production of a security card with optional signature and code word (pin number).

8. Kaba gemini S is constructed in a modular system. A combination of various cylinder components (housing, cam hubs, couplings etc.) allows fast modification of delivered cylinders relating to shape and/or length. The concept of the modular insert system provides considerable advantages for example similar inserts can be used in single, double, knob cylinders, cabinet locks and cam locks. 9. In order to achieve superior drilling protection all pins (in rotor and stator) are made of hardened steel chemically nickel plated. In addition there is a 4mm diameter hardened steel screw in each cylinder side. 10. An anti pulling device with VdS certification ensures superior protection against attempts to pull out or break the cylinder. The protection withstands a pulling power of min. 15 kN, for the cylinder insert and also for the cylinder housing. 11. Optionally the Kaba gemini S cylinder can be equipped with a steel housing and additional special pins of carbide in order to reach an even higher protection against drilling, pulling out, and breaking. 12. Double cylinders can be supplied as asymmetric short cylinders (basic length 25/35 mm). 13. The system allows the use of euro profile double cylinders with a) Priority function: the cylinder can also be opened from outside if a key is inserted inside. b) Emergency key system: a special emergency key allows opening from the outside if a key is inserted inside Remark: standard with euro profile double cylinders. The emergency key must be ordered separately. c) Cam with 360 freewheel 14. The following cylinder types can be integrated in a master key system: a) cam locks of 19 mm diameter b) key switches/elevator cylinders (round cylinders) of 19 mm diameter c) cabinet locks of 22 mm diameter d) padlocks. 15. Euro profile cylinders have as standard a cam adjustable in 12 positions (15deg steps). 16. If required door cylinders in Swiss profile (22 mm) can be fully integrated into the master key system. 17. The Kaba gemini S system can be supplied with duplo function (the movement of the standard key is limited so that only the latch of the mortice lock can be operated). 18. The integration of an electronic key system into a mechanical one is possible also later. Mechatronic systems, terminals for access control and time attendence can be combined with the key system. The suitable software for access control and time attendence is available too. 19. On request we can supply an administration software for the master key system.
