Childrens Centre
Chingford Children Centre supports families of children from birth to five years as well as pregnant parents in the Chingford area. most of our services have a minimal cost to enable us to help sustain the level of activities. Our universal services like toddler groups are for all families. The groups are planned around the New Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and support children to learn and develop through play. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our services or the partners we work with or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

Safeguarding children
All staff regularly receives child protection training so that they know what to do if they believe that a child or vulnerable adult is at risk of harm or neglect. If you have any concerns about a child or adult Carol Lee is the lead safeguarding officer and can be contacted on 0208 496 6334

WE REACH OUT TO PARENTS AND CARERS OF CHILDREN AGED 0-5 YEARS
We provide information on Children Centre activities and under 5s session. We offer confidential support and advice on Parenting Behaviour, Benefits, Childrens development, Housing issues, Domestic violence, and any other issues impacting on family life. If we are unable to help you, we will try to signpost you to a professional and agencies that can. If you feel that you would benefit from meeting with a member of our outreach team to explore your needs further please contact us on 0208 496 1551 or pop into any centre session.

As more and more of us receive benefits and with the ever changing rules and procedures it is more important than ever that we make sure that we are on top of it. Well the answer is simple you can download all the benefits information from the web and read it all and then understand all the legal jargon and how it relates to you and then complete the necessary paperwork and submit it. Or you could come along to our benefits advice session where all the hard work has been done for you and we will give you the information for you to make informed choices. We run benefits advice 2 times a week ring for more information. Come along and receive accurate information. It is advisable to check benefits periodically or when there has been a change in your circumstances. If you have been overpaid the sooner you find out the less you have to repay. If you have been underpaid then you want to get your entitlement as soon as possible. We can also give information on what work paid or voluntary can be done without affecting your benefits also what training and courses you could benefits from.

FATHERS GROUP

In a world of change there are few things that remain the same and one thing that has stayed the same is that children want their fathers. What we have found is that week days are okay for some fathers to attend groups with their children however some still find it difficult to attend during the week so we have decided to put on a group on Saturday. The group will run once a month, the last Saturday of the month. So come along with your child stay and play in a welcoming and child friendly environment which is the South Chingford Community Library. We have an experienced facilitator who will be able to support and give advice when needed; you will also be able to meet male carers just like you.
