Introduction
The M210 Measurement Centre uses numerical technology to achieve high accuracy over a wide dynamic measuring range. It measures energy and instantaneous values for single or three phase systems. Housed in a DIN standard 96mm by 96mm case, the M210 is compact, rugged and ideal for panel mounting in power distribution or power monitoring systems.

Application
M210 applications include; Accurate monitoring of instantaneous and integrated values Energy Measurement to IEC 61036 class 1.0 Replacement of separate energy meters and instrumentation in cost-sensitive applications Upgrading of existing energy meter applications to provide additional instantaneous values without the need for panel modification The M210 is intended for use on systems where energy monitoring and instrumentation are required. It is capable of providing metering for both active and reactive power, as well as instruments for volts, amps, watts, vars, VA, power factor and frequency. In this application, the M210 will provide a more costeffective solution than using the discrete devices, saving on hole punching and wiring costs as well as device cost and panel space savings.

User Interface
Front panel user interface

The front panel contains an alphanumeric liquid crystal display, consisting of 2 lines of 16 characters each. The character size is 4.86mm by 2.96mm. Four pushbuttons provide access to the M210s menu. The menu is arranged as shown below; Active and reactive energy is displayed when the device is switched on.

When power, power factor, voltage and current are displayed, the phase values can be displayed by pressing the and keys. For example, for voltage and current phase L1, the display would indicate:

U1=220.53 V I1 =1889.6mA
Reset counter

I1, I2, I3, Itotal

Pressing the key displays active and reactive power.

From the energy display, the energy meter resetting menu can be selected using the key. The counter which is to be reset is selected with the and keys.

Configuration
It is possible to modify the following parameters: Voltage transformer primary value Current transformer primary value Reset of energy meters

Hardware Description
The M210 is housed in a DIN case with maximum dimensions of 96mm by 96mm by 96mm. M210 variants are available for single phase systems or 3 phase 3 or 4 wire systems, with balanced or unbalanced loads. Measuring circuit connections on the rear are by means of individual M4 screw clamp terminals, auxiliary and pulsed output connections using M2.5 terminal blocks. A copy of the relevant DIN circuit diagram is printed on a label on the device.

St=3501.2 VA cost=+0.988 C
Pressing the key displays voltage and current.

1*RESET* 2*RESET*
reset counter 1 and 2 When the key is pressed for 5 seconds, the selected counter is reset. When the key is pressed, the energy display is restored. If no key is pressed for 5 seconds, the display is automatically restored from energy meter resetting to energy display mode.
Setting of CT and VT ratio

U=218.21 V I=4989.1mA
Pressing the key displays frequency.

f=49.994 Hz
Pressing the key displays setting.

SETTING
By pressing the key the above menu is accessed in reverse order.

Current and voltage ratios can be changed using the Setting menu. In order to access this menu, the or keys are pressed until SETTING is displayed. The key selects the CT setting menu. From here, the or keys allow selection of the CT or VT primary values.

CT=00020/5 SET

The digit to be modified is underlined and can be selected with the and keys. The value is modified by pressing the + and keys. If the selected parameter is exited using the key, the modification is loaded as the new parameter. If the selected parameter is exited with the key, the changes are not loaded. Note: When VT primary value is selected, the decimal point can be also positioned. First the decimal point must be underlined then with + or key, it is possible to change the position of the decimal point.

Notes on ordering

The standard devices on offer reflect the new normalised European voltage, eg. 230V L-N will work on a 220V or 240V system. Therefore, if for example a 220V unit is requested, a nominal 230V unit will be supplied. NB. The unit of measurement displayed changes according to the change in CT ratio. The energy per pulse is related to the displayed value. See Table 1 below for default settings.
