Documentation of Water Resources Engineering Studies The water resources engineering case study will include the following sections/elements: I. TITLE. This should be brief and should indicate the primary objective of the study. (e.g. Water Availability Assessment for Tamugan River Basin). TABLE OF CONTENTS. The Table of Contents should indicate the Section and sub-section, Titles, List of Tables and Figures, References and Appendices, all with page numbers. INTRODUCTION. This should include a brief description of the problem being analysed; objective; scope and overall approach of the study. In addition, a brief description of the site location and hydrologic environment in the site vicinity may be included. This includes the main object of the study which is to derive the FLOW DURATION CURVE of the basin in study. HYDROLOGIC CHARACTERISTICS OF WATERSHED OR STUDY AREA. This may include land use or cover, soil types, main channel length, basin slopes, drainage area and other relevant information. Include a map that shows delineated drainage area of the basin in study. Geographical coordinates, administrative location and watershed region should be included as well. HYDROLOGICAL AND METEOROLOGICAL DATA. This should be site-specific and regional hydrologic data collected from different sources (e.g. precipitation and stream flow data from gauging stations within the basin). Include tables of data and compute for the Average, Minimum and Maximum Monthly Rainfall and Stream flow. Make a separate discussion on the seasonal monthly variability of the stream flow and rainfall data of the basin. Figures should be provided and corresponding description/interpretation should follow the figure. RESULTS. This should include results of the study (Flow Duration Curve) along with its limits and accuracy. Figures should be provided and corresponding description/interpretation should follow the figure. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS. This should include carefully worded conclusions of the study with clear statement of the limitations of the result. The recommendations to improve the results of the study may be discussed in this section.
