"FOURWENTS" offers widest range of rotary pressure joints for water and steam applications in Plastics & Packaging, Papers, Petrochemicals, Textile, Fibers and Tyres & Steel Industries. They have been recognized in all leading industries for best quality. The construction includes Cast Iron / Ductile Iron Bodies and Heads, Steel Nipples, Stainless Steel Springs and special grade of imported Carbon-Graphite seal ring. Normal Joints are designed for 150 psi operating pressure. Pressure rating up to 250 psi can also be supplied upon request. Any requirements other then standards can be customized on request.

Series US has been designed keeping in mind its application in self supported conditions. It incorporates Carbon-Graphite guide, wide enough to take care of the external load on account self - weight. The Nipple rotates against Seal Ring while spring Provides initial seating. The Sealing is achieved by pressure in operation

SELF SUPPORTED PRESSURE JOINTS. Max. Temperature : 4500 F (2320 C)
UN series has been designed for the applications, which required rotation of siphon tube or distribution pipe. The Nipple is Keyed to the Thrust Collar for simultaneous rotation against Carbon Graphite Seal Rings. Thrust collar provides initial seating along inner pipe. Spring provides initial seating. The sealing is achieved by pressure in operation. These joints are designed with respect to direction of Flow as shown in the drawing hence are not guaranteed for counter flow applications. Consult our Engineering Department for counter flow application. Type UN Series is for duo flow applications only.

It is hinged so it can be, inserted or withdrawn right through the joint and closes to a leak-tight by its own weight inside the roll. The syphon Elbow is a perfect team, made for "FOURWENTS" joint fitted with the specially assembly plate, which hold internal partition when the head is removed, the syphon can be inserted or withdrawn with out disturbing the joint proper. The "FOURWENTS" Syphon Elbow is made of G.M. or Bronze with a stainless steel valve insert and available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" & 1" Sizes.

"FOURWENTS" Flexible Hose, has been engineered especially for use as inlet and outlet connections to Rotary pressure Joints. In steam header seals, the sealing rings must ensure satisfactory operation of the seal with steam lubrication alone, Because of their self-lubricating properties, carbon-graphite materials are particularly suitable for sealing rings in steam headers , depending up to several years are achieved with carbon sealing rings. The necessary sliding pressure for adequate sealing is produced by the steam pressure itself. For spring - loading experience show that 1 to 3 N/ cm2 is an adequate pressure. For large sealing rings in steam headers with normally simple operating conditions, the grade FC 10S- has proved very Satisfactory With higher pressure, the synthetic resin impregnated grade FC 2201/FC 3245 is Preferable.
For smaller sealing rings in steam header seals with generally some what more difficult conditions the grade FC 10 and, most often, FC 40 are used. For carbon rings in seals of rotating lead through or feeder heads for feeding water or heat transfer oils, the conditions with regard to leak tightness are similar to those for sealing ring on ordinary mechanical seals. For the sealing of heating or cooling water. rings FC 10 FC 40 are recommended and, for sealing heat transfer oils, for temperature - resistance reasons, ring FC 3245.

RADIAL SEAL
Radial seals can be classed as contact seals or clearance seals. Contact seals are segmental. They are used to seal rotating shafts and reciprocating piston rods. Sealing is achieved by springs which contain the segments. Contact seals are in constant contact with the counter surface and are therefore subject to wear. Clearance seals can be single piece or segmental rings and give an exactly calculated clearance on the shaft being sealed. (seal clearance)
PACKING RINGS
Packing rings are segmental and supply an axial seal on a rotating shaft. There are two distinct types: Contact & Clearance seals. Sometimes, packing rings are arranged so that the original joint clearance closes up after the initial process of bedding in so that the contact-free seals are achieved with minimum clearance loss. The number of segments depend upon the shaft diameter and as many as used as needed. Turbine rings can run at extremely high rubbing speeds at low wear owing to water lubrication
CARBON VANES
Carbon Vanes are important elements in dry running rotary compressors and vacuum pumps as well as in wet running vane type pumps where liquids being pumped have poor lubrication properties. Owing to the low density of carbon material, the specific contact pressure exerted by the vanes can be kept to a low level thus influencing vane life favorably. Dry running rotary compressors and vacuum pumps are used.
METERING RINGS AND SEGMENTS

Metering rings and segments have control and metering functions in automatic work processing machines. "FOURWENTS" Rollers are suitable for sizing ranges of the leading manufactures, such as sucker + Muller, Benninger -Zell as well as Tsudakoma & other processing machines.
GUIDE ROLLERS
Guide roller with an outside pillow block bearing as well as the alternate variant with an internal bearing and continuous shafts, which are fixed in the machine frame. The diameters of these guide roller (for the guidance of web in wet-finishing ranges) accumulators and steamers range from 80 mm to 400 mm with a cylinder surface width up to 6000 mm. The guide roller tubes are made of high-quality stainless steel. material no. AISI 304 AND AISI 316 L. The "FOURWENTS" Guide Rollers are manufactured of massive first-class cold-Rolled stainless steel. The processing of the steel to guide roller tubes is carried out by means of specially designed manufacturing lines. These special purpose machines developed by ourselves guarantee a constantly high quality of the guide rollers regarding dynamic balance and true running .The roller surface is polished by means of a centerless grinding machine up to a roughness of Rz < m.
processing of guide rollers, "FOURWENTS" Steamheated Drying Cylinders are manufactured in specially constructed machines and devices in order to obtain a high quality standard in regard to welding execution and true running. A typical drying cylinder, 800 mm diameter, for sizing machines or for the contact drying in textile finishing machines. The cylinder shell is made of stainless steel 1.4301 (equivalent to AISI 304) with a wall thickness of 2.5, 3 or 4 mm depending on the respective operating pressure. The solid pillow block bearing are lubricated with either oil or grease for high-temperature operation. The steam inlet and the condensate outlet are arranged via an automatic rotary joint with a fixed condensate tube. The condensate tube is installed with a 10-mmgap to the inner shell. The cylinder rotates around the fixed condensate tube; therefore an intense and regular education of the condensate is guaranteed. This efficient condensate draining of the decisive significance for the high drying capacity. Furthermore the rotary joints are equipped with a vacuum valve, which prevents the formation of a vacuum in the cylinder during cooling down. What makes the "FOURWENTS" Drying Cylinders stand out is the precision of true running and the exact dynamic balance qualities that are essential to obtain a drying process under low tension of warp threads and webs.
TEFLON COATING OF THE CYLINDER SURFACE

It may be necessary, depending on the position of the respective cylinder in a sizing or drying machines to coat the cylinder surface with TEFLON in order to prevent sticking and to facilitate the cleaning of the cylinder surface. The "FOURWENTS" Drying Cylinder for sizing machines and-where necessary for cylinder dryers in textile finishing are coated with a one-or multi-layer coating or Original PTFE, manufacture of Dupont. USA. The specific properties of PTFE its absolute chemical inertness and low surface tension guarantee a high antiadhesive effect of the surface especially in sizing machines. The extremely low friction of PTFE and the low surface tension make the web steadily clean the surface during operation and so prevent the shrieking of impurities for the most part. The surfacing of every layer onto the cylinder through spraying is subject to the greatest cleanliness possible; the respective layers are sintered in a special thermooven at a temperature of 400 0C.
STEAM-HEATED DRYING CYLINDERS

The TEFLON coating is micro-porous, that means that moisture particles can penetrate the coating. Therefore the shell of TEFLON- coated cylinders must be stainless, too.
THERMO OIL - HEATED DOUBLE SHELL CYLINDERS

Textile finishing plants (especially those involved in thermo setting of technical woven fabric) as well as the plastics and film industries normally demand cylinder surface temperatures up to 300 0C. Such high temperatures cannot be obtained economically with steam-heating. The steam pressure at a steam temperature of e.g. 250 0C exceeds 40 bars and require an untenable high mechanical capacity. Furthermore these high pressure values are not available in most of the plants of the textile and plastic industries. For this reason the above mentioned processing ranges are preferred to be equipped with thermo oilheated roller and cylinders, which offer a great advantage at processing temperatures from 180 up to 300 degrees c. A further advantage of thermo Oil of the heating is that it offers the possibility of heating below an operating temperature of 100 0C, which is not given with steamheating because of the specific properties of steam. The thermo oil - heating of a roll requires a special design and construction. A typical heating rolls for the heating with thermo Oil. The rollers are in double shell construction with forced thermo oil circulation via a guide spiral system. The precise oil-guidance within the roller is of utmost importance. The flow speed of the oil ranges from 1.5m/sec up to 2.5 m/sec. The thermo oil rate of flow per hour and per heating roller is a further important factor in order to guarantee a temperature tolerance below 1 0C at the cylinder surface. The thermooil rate of flow depends on the dimensions of the roller and the calculated heat transfer. The "FOURWENTS" Themo oil Rollers guarantee a temperature tolerance below 1 0C across the entire cylinder surface, for rollers with a cylinder width up to 6000 mm. The thermooil inlet and outlet of the roller are arranged opposite to each other or at the same cylinder side depending on the size of the roller via special thermooil rotary joints with rotating carbon
seats and flange connections to the roller. To ensure an absolutely tight connection between the piping and the rotating roller it is necessary to use only thermo oil joints of best quality. Of further significance is the precise and tensionless mounting of the rotary joint into the machine. "FOURWENTS" have more than 45 years of experience regarding the manufacture of thermo oilheated Roller.
COOLING CYLINDERS
The defined and even recooling of the web after thermal processing is of special significance. Of utmost importance in textile finishing is the even recooling across the whole web width below 30-40 0C after drying or thermal processing .If the web temperature is too high in further processing e.g. cold pad batch dyeing or in chemical web impreganation it would make the dye bath temperature increase after a short time and so cause a considerable product quality loss. For this reason the recooling of the web after thermal processing receives more and more attention. As described in our attached leaflet "FOURWENTS" ROLLER , our scope of production basically includes 3 types of cooling cylinders: The simple variant for low-efficiency cooling are single-shell cylinders with water-spraying-system without controlled water circulation. However, according to the significance of the defined recooling of the web, high-sophisticated range are being more and more equipped with double shell cooling cylinders. The design of the "FOURWENTS" Double Shell Cooling Cylinders with forced cooling water circulation via guide spiral basically corresponds to the Described as Above. Thermo oil - heated Rollers. The even cooling and the temperature tolerance of less than 1 0C across the whole width is guaranteed through the precise execution of the water guidance system. The forced water circulation system and the execution in stainless steel 1.4301 (equivalent to AISI 304) of the complete cooling roller including all interior parts, offer the possibility of a back flow of the cooling water into the preceding washing machines of the wetfinishing range after the cooling process. This leads to a considerable reduction of the energy costs of a processing range.

Our stainless frame and thermoplastic roller idler assemblies are intended for light to medium duty troughed belt conveying - primarily in food processing. Throughed belt conveyors see frequent duty in handling small fruits such as grapes, raisins, nuts, apples, peaches, apricots and cherries, as well as larger field crops such as lettuce, artichokes, brussels sprouts, and cabbages. Grains and cereals, snack foods, potato chips, tortilla chips are often handled with troughed belt conveyors. Steam traps are automatic valves that release condensate from a steam space while preventing the loss of live steam. They also remove non-condensable gases from the steam space. Steam traps are designed to maintain steam energy efficiency for performing specific tasks such as heating or maintaining heat for process use. Once steam has transferred heat through a process and becomes hot water, it is removed by the trap from the steam side as condensate Types of Steam Traps. BUCKET TYPE STEAM TRAP (MECHANICAL STEAM TRAP)

These types of steam traps have a "BUCKET" that rises or falls as steam and / or condensate enters the trap body. When steam is in the body, the bucket rises closing a valve. BALL FLOAT STEAM TRAPS

Float and thermostatic traps consist of a ball float and a thermostatic bellows element. As condensate flows through the body, the float rises or falls, opening the valve according to the flow rate. The thermostatic element discharges air from the steam lines. They are good in heavy and light loads and on high and low pressure, but are not recommended where water hammer is a possibility. THERMODYNAMIC STEAM TRAP

Thermodynamic traps have a disc that rises and falls depending on the variations in pressure between steam and condensate. Steam will tend to keep the disc down or closed. As condensate builds up, it reduces the pressure in the upper chamber and allows the disc to move up for condensate discharge. This trap is a good general type trap where steam pressures remain constant. Since 1958, the Group has building a reputation for simple solutions to critical Spare Parts, Accessories, Equipments & maintenance problem of Dyeing Machines. "FOURWENTS" have also specialized in the production of Plastic / Polymers moulding and Tool making for the Textile & associated Industries for over 10 years. The developments in winding technology, Yarn package formation and the Yarn Dying equipment have led to greater utilization and productivity and at the same time improved the quality of the Yarns and their running properties. The Dye packages and Tubes are most important for an optimum Dyeing cycle. The main features of an optimum Dye package are : n n n n Conicity Winding technique Package Face Package edges and Tubes packages ends. The dyeing process is reproducible, thus increasing the reliability of the process. At the same time, utilization of the volume in the Dyeing Machine is increased. If the cones in the Dyeing machines are replaced by cheeses of the same diameter and density, the weight of the material increases which enables an increase in productivity of the tubes up to 30% owing to the improved utilization of the Machine volume with a smaller liquor ratio, saving in the water and time per kilogram of Yarn result. The Company's research and development programed is firmly based on close co-operation with customers on the one hand and machinery manufacturers on the other. Only through this partnership it is possible to develop optimum product capable of meeting in full customer requirements and expectations.
Under the trade name "FOURPLAST", "FOURWENTS" are marketing permeable Cylindrical Tubes and Cones for Yarn Dyeing. An important advantage of Cylindrical Packages or Cheeses is that the liquor flow is effected symmetrically towards the centre line of the package. Above all, the liquor flow is more favourable when dye tubes with a large diameter are used. The tubes from "FOURWENTS" permit the same uniform flow throughout the packing. Moreover, a better utilization of the volume is achieved than with cones replacing conventional cones with cheeses, like those from "FOURWENTS", guarantees an optimum levelness of Dyeing and offers significant advantages from an economic point of view.
