Explain the: world character problem

World: The world of my film is set in the town Caterham in a house and garden. It is going to be set around December January 2013. The characters within my story are a mixture of low to middle class. I would describe the genre to my film as social realism.

Character:

Macy: She is a twin sister to Molly, she is 17 years old, she is currently studying at a school and it planning for further education. She is the stronger sister and very protective towards Molly.

Molly: She is a twin sister to Macy, she is 17 years old and is vulnerable teenager heavily into drug use. She struggles from the separation from her parents.

Daniel: He has a soft spot for Macy and finds it cool that she does not do drugs. Macys group of friends: They are doing fairly well at school and headed for further education. Mollys group of friends: They are all into drug use and are very vulnerable. Problem: The problem of Mollys drug use which leads her sister to be protective and feel peer pressured. Another issue is that Molly has a secret crush on a boy called Daniel however he seems to be into Macy as he prefers her choices.

There is conflict between the two sisters from their different decisions within life; Molly has inner conflict with herself and sister when Daniel finds it cool not to do drugs. There is conflict between Macy and Ellie when Macy turns down the drugs. The conflict of Molly wanting to have a cool identity. Whos POV is the story told from? Is this clear? How? The story is mainly told from Macys POV, it is shown through her aware and suspicious attitude and action towards her sisters drug use throughout the story. Is the main problem the heart of the film? Explain. Yes, the main problem of drug use creates tension and conflict within the story and motivates the story onwards. Explain what motivates your protagonist. The protagonist Macy is motivated and driven by her sister Molly, this is because she feels she has to sort her sister out and keep an eye on her. She is protective of Molly and is always cautious of her whereabouts. What use is being made of: familiar settings The setting of a house is quite familiar for a gathering with teenagers and the garden setting is very familiar for a drug environment. familiar rituals The issue of young youth in society behaving and acting poorly is a familiar event. Does the story encompass a single moment/event? Describe it. The story encompasses a single moment by the experience of drugs for someone who is not use to that environment. Are the stakes high enough? Explain. The stakes are high within the award-ness of Macy experiencing her sister using drugs, they are also high when Macy notices Molly is eyeing up Daniel however he later sticks up for Macy when she feels she is being peer pressured by the group and has a soft spot for her which crushes Molly. The stakes are high due to the sisters rivalry. Is there at least one clear meaning that the audience can take away? What is it? Yes, the clear meaning of the awareness of drug use and the effect it holds on relationships. Is the film doable on a zero budget?
