Food for the Gods

Ingredients 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour,sifted 1 cup butter 1 cup granulated sugar (white), sifted 1 cup brown sugar 3 pieces raw eggs 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup dates, chopped 1 cup walnuts, chopped Procedure 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt then mix well. 2. Cream the butter in a separate mixing bowl and add the sugar (white and brown) while continously mixing until texture becomes fluffy. 3. Beat-in the eggs on the mixing bowl with butter and sugar then continue mixing until everything is well distributed. 4. Gradually add the flour-baking soda-baking powder-salt mixture while continously mixing.

Put-in the dates and walnuts then mix until well distributed. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit Grease the baking pan and pour-in the batter. Bake for 10 minutes then pull down the temperature to 300 and continue baking for 35 minutes or until done. 9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool down 10. Slice and wrap individually if desired.

Rocky Road Brownies


Ingredients 1-1/4 cups miniature marshmallows 1 cup Chocolate Chips 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/3 cup Cocoa Powder 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Procedure 1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease 9-inch square baking pan. 2. Stir together chocolate chips, marshmallows and nuts; set aside. Place butter in large microwavesafe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 1 to 1-1/2 minutes or until melted. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla; beat with spoon until well blended. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir until well blended. Spread batter in prepared pan. 3. Bake 22 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chip mixture over top. Continue baking 5 minutes or until marshmallows have softened and puffed slightly. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Using wet knife, cut into squares. About 20 brownies.

Brownies
Ingredients 1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 4 eggs 3/4 cup Cocoa 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) CREAMY BROWNIE FROSTING Additional Chocolate Chips (optional) Procedure 1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan. 2. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 2 to 2-1/2 minutes or until melted. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with spoon after each addition. Add cocoa; beat until well blended. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat well. Stir in nuts, if desired. Pour batter into prepared pan. 3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan

on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 24 to 36 brownies. CREAMY BROWNIE FROSTING 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened 6 tablespoons HERSHEY'S Cocoa 2 tablespoons light corn syrup or honey 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups powdered sugar 2 to 4 tablespoons milk Beat butter, cocoa, corn syrup and vanilla in small bowl until blended. Add powdered sugar and milk; beat to spreading consistency. About 2 cups frosting.

Butterscotch Bars
Ingredients 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup liquid glucose (corn syrup or honey) 2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 tsp vanilla ( I used vanilla & rum ) 2 eggs 1 cup finely chopped walnuts Procedure 1. Preheat oven to 325F. Line a 9"x13" rectangular cake pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Grease the paper and set aside. 2. Whisk together flour, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl. 3. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and add brown sugar, glucose and vanilla.. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until blended. 4. Mix well using wire whisk or electric mixer 5. Fold in chopped nuts. Pour mixture into the lined pan. Bake 30-45 minutes until done. Cool and

cut into bars.

Ultimate Chocolate Brownies


Ingredients 3/4 cup Cocoa Powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2/3 cup butter or margarine , melted and divided 1/2 cup boiling water 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup Chocolate Chips

BUTTERCREAM FROSTING Additional Chocolate Chips (optional) Procedure 1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan or two 8-inch square baking pans. 2. Stir together cocoa and baking soda in large bowl; stir in 1/3 cup butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan. 3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan, 30 to 35 minutes for square pans or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan BUTTERCREAM FROSTING 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened 2-2/3 cups powdered sugar 1/2 cup Cocoa powder 1/3 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Beat butter in medium bowl. Add powdered sugar and cocoa alternately with milk, beating to spreading consistency (additional milk may be needed). Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.

Revel Bars

Ingredients 1 cup Butter, Plus 1 Tablespoon, Divided 2 cups Brown Sugar 2 whole Eggs 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract 1- teaspoon Salt, Divided 1 teaspoon Baking Soda 2- cups Flour 3 cups Quick Oats 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chip Procedure 1. Beat all but 2 Tbsp of softened butter with brown sugar. Add baking soda, eggs and vanilla extract, beat until combined. Add flour and oats. 2. In a small pan, heat the milk over low, stirring constantly. Add in butter and all the morsels. Continue to stir on low heat until everything is melted and smooth. Remove. 3. Press 2/3 of the dough into bottom of an ungreased 15x10 baking sheet. Keep pressing with your fingertips. Pour chocolate sauce over dough, spreading evening. Drop remaining dough by teaspoon over chocolate sauce. 4. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-28 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
