Remembrance Day Program

Parents, guardians & community Members are invited to attend our Remembrance Day program, Nov. 7th at 9:10 a.m. in the gymnasium.

Pioneer Breakfast Club is looking for your help.

Breakfast at school also offers an alternative when, for whatever reason, having breakfast in another environment isn't a healthy choice for children. The number of children who haven't eaten and are utilizing our program has increased this year. We are looking for donations in any form: monetary, jam, healthy cereal, store purchased muffins, bread etc... If you have any questions regarding our program please give the school a call.

Come GrowWith Us!

TERRY FOX RUN

On September 30th, Pioneer School students participated and did an excellent job running for the Terry Fox Run. Students walked or ran around a set trail in honour of Terry Fox and his mission to create more awareness of cancer, as well as to raise money for cancer research. The run was timed this year and each student will have the opportunity to match or improve their time on various occasions throughout the school year. In total Pioneer School collected over $384.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation. A special thanks to all the staff, students and parents for your effort in helping to keep Terrys legacy and dream alive and Rocky Co-op for the generous donation of bottled water for the run. You have all made a difference.

Magazine Sales Final Update

We have concluded our annual magazine fundraiser. Students sold a total of 541 subscriptions. This falls short of our goal of 600. If anyone was thinking about purchasing a magazine, you can still do so online. The website is ccrp.ca and our school code is AB195. If we do reach our goal of 600, there is a draw for an iPad mini. Although we did not meet our goal and cannot, at this time, offer the grand prize, many students were BIG winners in the other contests. Abby Kadyk won the giant smurf, Riley Noble won the AirZooka blasters, Ashley McDonald won the black-light speaker, and Tanner Thompson won the space scooter. Lucky Gum draw winners included Alyssa Moggy who won the $100.00 prize and Carter Chatwood who won $50.00. In total, $357.00 was won by various students. Congratulations to all. 6C was our top selling class and they win an ice-cream party. Please remember to Save your Subscriptions for purchasing through the school, same time next year. We want to thank our community for supporting Pioneer School students with this fundraiser.
JAZZ BAND Please check the handout given to jazz members for a list of students who need to bring snacks for our jazz band breakfast programs. Please bring 2 dozen of whatever you choose to share with the group. Thanks for your support with this. The latest that students should be arriving is 7:30 am, rehearsals start at 7:40am.
