Wilhelm Tell style Fortune Telling Cards

The top cards in the first row are Doppeldeutsche Schnapskarten to include just
A, K, O, U, 10, 9. This deck has only 24 cards.

The bottom cards are Dvouhlave Hraci Karty to include A, K, O, U, 10, 9 and the
8 & 7 (not shown in image). This deck has only 32 cards.

1
The Suits

The Hearts are in keeping with the traditional hearts/cups

associations. The Acorns are related to the spades/swords.
The Bells are similar to clubs/wands. The Leaves resemble the
diamonds/pentacles suit. Of course, as in many cartomancy
systems different standard playing card symbols are assigned
to acorns, leaves and bells.

The HEARTS suit - HEARTS

7- the home. Matters involving ones residence. Should this

card lie beside the lower Jack & Upper Jack or King the lower
Jack brings the thoughts of home and family to the Queen &
King. If this card is beside the 7 of Bells, not only is it a
double 7 indicating an element of surprise or the unexpected
it will intensify the negative aspect of the bells suit. The
reason for this is because tears are an outcome or result of a
situation. The home is a situation. The two together would
bring tears into the home environment.

8 loyalty in feelings. Fidelity. When this card is coupled

with a dubious card it would indicate the opposite. For

example, lets suppose you asked a question about the success

2
of a project and selected Ace Hearts, 8 Hearts, Ace Leaves.
Here we have 2 season cards and one card of staying true to
your goal. Spring, loyalty, Autumn. Depending what time of
year it is when you ask the question the project will succeed
when 3 seasons pass or in the Autumn.

9 : classical association with ones wishes.Example: 8 of

Bells (clubs) plus 8 + 9 = element of surprise but a

good one. It can be a miraculous recovery from an illness

fulfilling ones wishes for return of health of person or
situation.

10 : family affairs, situations connected to the home or

property

LOWER Heart Jack: (Unter) Generally, not representing a

person but the thoughts of the Upper Jack (Ober) and King. The
energy of the Unter is in constant movement. It comes and
goes much like thoughts they come and go. The heart is

not at the top left hand corner.

UPPER Heart Jack: (Ober) The heartisat the top left hand

corner.Often dubbed the Queen. Represents various females

3
such aswife, mother, widow, divorcee, lover, maiden, child. It
is important to remember that this is the Hearts suit and you
would need to consider what role in the family the female
plays. You can have a widow in the Hearts suit just like you
can have a widow in the Bells suit (spades). The latter being
more of a classical representation.

KING : important male in your life. He represents the

significant other and also the patriarch of a family.

ACE season card: (Fruhling) The spring. There are 4 Hearts

on this cards quite possibly suggesting the 4 seasons. Most

cartomancers use the Season cards as the ACE. All season
cards have a female in the imagery.

Lets say (if you are a female) and you ask, will I meet the
man of my dreams? and you draw 3 cards.

Example: 9 , King of Leaves, Ace

These 3 cards suggest your wishes will come true and yes you
will meet the man of your dreams. He will be financially
successful or work in a money/assets type of career. Theres a

4
good chance you will meet him in the Spring time. If the
Spring season just passed then it will be the following year
during the spring months. Lets not forget the question only
referred to meeting such a man. The cards are answering the
question, however, the female really meant, will I meet
someone and have a good solid relationship. As always,
dont read meanings into cards which are not there.

The CLUBS suit - BELLS

7 -a card of tears. This card speaks of mourning, sadness

and grief. The energy of this card is very upsetting which

can be caused by a person or situation.

8 - a card of malady or illness. The illness can be

medical or sometimes it is an ill state of mind. It is

impossible to see a person or situation clearly when your
thoughts are clouded with painful memories or you are
actually experiencing some sort of sickness.

9 - one word loss. Loss comes in many ways. Loss is

not always negative. Loss can bring closures. Loss removes

situations or people from our lives that prevent us from

5
moving on. This card does suggest loss from poor
judgement. Loss of money. Loss of lover. Loss of job.

10 - an unpredictable card. Anything goes. This card is

influenced by its entourage. The surprise element of this

card can be a catastrophe, accident or misfortune. Other

times it can bring rewards. Carefully study of adjoining

cards is necessary before arriving at a conclusion.

Ace -Season Card here you find the time frame of the

prediction. It represents the Summer weeks. Once again it

all depends on the system you are studying. Some Tarot
systems assign Wands the summer months (I do not use this
method I use Wands for spring).

Lower Jack -Jacks are thoughts of the Queen and King.

Also, Jacks are the coming and going of situations and

thoughts, etc. If you had a Queen or King from another suit
this Jack suggests that there is troubling matter on his or
her mind. The thoughts are with problems or obstacles.

Upper Jack - The Queen of Clubs. She has a reputation of

being a lonely woman. One who is divorced or a widow. She

6
is a person you would want on your side. She doesnt dole
out trust easily but once you have it you can count on her.

King of -He is a man with a good head on his shoulders

with the ability to make decisions without emotions. He can

also be a widower or man without partner. Often he holds a
high office. A successful businessman. A judge of situations
and people.

The Bells suit sounds more like some of the spade card
meanings, however, because of so many different
cartomancy systems one needs to choose 1 system and stick
to it until it proves itself unreliable.

The DIAMONDS suit - LEAVES

7 Leaves- minimal amount of money or something of

value. This card can represent a purchase in a store but not a

purchase with a hefty price tag.

8 Leaves- normal intake of money which comes by earning

it. If you have a question about work and this card comes up
usually as the final card it promises income of some sort.

7
9 Leaves-this card is all about money as well. It is more of

a swinging door. What I mean by this is when studied in a

layout it provides a delivery system for outlays and inlays of
money. Should a court card sit to the left of this card that
person may be giving you(inlay) money. Should a court card
sit to the right of this card you may be giving that
person(outlay) money.

10 Leaves- this is the card representing a substantial

amount of money or something of significant value. Lots is

possible when this card answers a question in a layout.
Usually the 9 & 10 of Leaves is some unexpected money
coming without working for it.

Ace Leaves- Season Card here you find the time frame

of the prediction. It represents Autumn or the fall months

which is similar to the Tarot Pentacles if you use pentacles as
diamonds in your translation of the suits. Lets say we dont
need a time frame the Ace of Leaves suggests opportunities to
make money. Look to the cards surrounding this Ace.

Lower Jack of Leaves- Jacks are thoughts of the Queen

and King. Also, Jacks are the coming and going of situations
and thoughts, etc. If you had a Queen or King from another

8
suit this Jack suggests that there is a money matter on his or
her mind. The thoughts are with a financial situation.

Upper Jack of Leaves- The Queen of Diamonds. She has a

reputation of liking the finer things in life. Sometimes she

will date or marry just for financial security. She can be a
successful business woman as well. If you are a male,
someone like this is involved in your life. If she falls in a
future spot and you are wondering about a relationship you
will meet this lady. If you are a female she could
represent you. Often if a female is getting the Reading
done and asks about the success of a project this Upper
Jack is promising good money outcomes.

King of Leaves- Hes the man! Successful. Money in his back

corner or wallet. One of his weaknesses is gambling. He takes

risks. If you fall in love with such a man -business comes
first.

The SPADES suit - ACORNS

7 Acorns- the cheater or person who is not faithful. This

card coupled with any of the Queens or Kings will pretty much
tell you the person is a liar. If you have several negative

9
cards within these cards of study stay clear of that person or
advise your client to be a little more cautious by not revealing
intimate information to just anyone.

8 Acorns- card of change usually resulting from a

message or information received. If this card is coupled

with the 7 Hearts representing the home it could predict a

change of residence especially if the 10 Acorns is part of

the cards under study.

9 Acorns- jealousy card. Warns consultant that he or she is

surrounded by someone who has ill thoughts towards them

and hopes they are not successful. For example, combined
with the 9 Bells its a double card suggesting a surprise

or something you were not expecting. The 9 Bells is about

loss. Through someones jealous actions you could
experience a loss. If money cards loss of money. If love
cards loss of lover. And so on.

10 Acorns- the travel card depicting long distant travels.

Often connected to foreign people or lands.

10
Ace Acorns- Season card. The Winter months. This card

can also represent something official or legal. Some skat

cartomancers assign court or a large building to this card.
Generally, it is used to time events.

Lower Jack- thoughts of the Acorn Queen or King.

Represents a young lad. If the Acorn Lower Jack is beside

other Queens and Kings not of the Acorn suit then it brings
those characteristics to the Queen and King temporarily.

Upper Jack. The Queen. A vindictive female. If

surrounded by good cards a relative.

King Acorns- can be an ex-husband or partner. When

surrounded by positive cards he is a good friend. Lets

suppose you have the King of Leavesbeside the Acorn King

the combo can suggest business partners.

Before bells, leaves, hearts and acorns there were parrots

(for hearts), monkeys (for acorns), peacocks (for leaves) and
lions (for bells).
