new play by Moon Theatre Co. is sure to leave audiences giggling, if not chortling out loud. Murdered to Death, opening this Friday Surveyor is an Agatha Columnist Christie spoof set in an English Manor. The play stars all the usual suspects, including a bumbling inspector, an honest constable, a drunken butler, Heidi a rich aunt, a Kerr-Schlaefer doting niece, a conniving art dealer, a blond strumpet, a Colonel and his proper

English wife and the town meddler. There is murder, mayhem and even a love affair in Murdered to Death. This production includes several actors who are new to the Moon Theatre Co. including Natalie Dollison, who recently moved to Colorado from Laramie, Wyo., where she helped found Centennial Community Theatre and Albany County Theatre. I like doing comedy the best. I like being silly, said Dollison, who perfects her comedic chops as Dorothy, the doting niece in this production. No such play would be complete without a Frenchman, and the part of Pierre Marceau is played delightfully by Jay Jakowsky. His real life wife, Krystal Jakowsky, portrays the strumpet, Elizabeth Hartley-Trumpington. Both actors are new to the Moon Theatre Co. The two met on the set of Once upon a Mattress at the Long-

mont Theatre Co. Murdered to Death features a Miss Marple-type character, Jane Maple, played by Marion Bennett, well-known to Northern Colorado theater audiences. Bennett has been acting for 40 years, most frequently with the Longmont Theatre Co., but she has been in a number of Moon Theatre productions as well. Ms. Maple is a very sharp lady, said Bennett. She has this faade as being a sweet little thing, but shes sharp as a tack and I like that. Don Kraus and Nancy Patton play Colonel Charles Craddock and his wife, Margaret. Both portray these very British characters with ease. Tommie Brassell, as Mildred, the rich aunt and owner of the manor, also seems comfortable in her position as lady of the house in Murdered to Death. Bunting (Frank Adams), the drunken butler, is a bit like a character from a Monty Python skit, and Constable Thompkins (Scott Rochat) is spot on as the straight man, although hes great with sight gags as well. No Agatha Christie story is complete without an inspector, and Murdered to Death features one whose ineptitude knows no bounds. Daryl Branson tackles this character with zeal. Having only started acting seven years ago, Branson has become well-acquainted with all aspects of the theater, and sometimes directs productions for the Moon Theatre Co., as he will during Delval Divas, on stage at this January at the Rialto Theater in Loveland. Murdered to Death is on stage at the United Methodist Church at 820 9th Street in Berthoud. It runs Oct. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20 and 27. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Immediately following the Oct. 18 show, audience members can meet and greet the actors during a gala event.
