Introduction:
Disability is defined as "a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits
one or more major life activities”. An individual may also qualify as disabled if
he/she has had impairment in the past or is seen as disabled based on a personal or
group standard or norm. Such impairments may include physical, sensory,
and cognitive or intellectual impairments.
For disabled very few options are available once they reach an age of income
generation, as very little effort in put in their basic preparation.
Pressure from the family, society starts building up in order to start earning,
especially those coming from very low economic strata of society. Here is when
the vocational training makes lots of difference and creates impacts. It builds up
their self confidence, develops skills.
We have programmes designed for the adult disabled in the age group of 18 to 40
years but this programmes has some limitation, because our faculties are unable to
trained for mentally challenge people. A whole range of activities like pottery
ceramic, gardening, tailoring, embroidery, screen printing, electronic assembling,
fabrication and welding, bakery and chocolate making, data processing, IT related
skills, assembly jobs (for the mentally challenged) are designed to suit the different
needs of the people with disability. This is an integrated set up where people with
all kinds of disabilities come together.
When they join our programme, as we assume are completely raw. We need to put
in lot of inputs, in terms of boosting their confidence along with their skill level. In
addition to the specific skill developmental training, we also provide them the
various other services with the help from social workers, physiologist and Para-
medical supports.

Objectives of Assignment:
To implement a training course is itself a difficult task for rural development
professional. As a beginner we faced many problems like how to design training
module, how to plan the entire training schedule and many things which we didn’t
know before the training design. This assignment gives us the full exposure about
the hidden side of such difficult project.
By this assignment we analyze that what kind of troubles face by any disabled
person. They are always excluding to the development programmes. Very few
programmes are made for the disabled persons and their livelihood. As we know
each of us the equal rights to move towards the independent livelihood.
We realize this problem and we change our thoughts that development should
inclusive among all the people and all the gender and “they are not disabled, but
they are differently able”.
This assignment expertise our skills and making blue print about such project. If
we chase such kind of project ever in our life, we can easily handle the project and
find out the exact solutions.

Format of training design:

Identification of training needs:
Each individual have their choice to move towards independent living and
accessibility to social life style. Disabled people have also their rights to move
back to community with the help of cash benefits for the purchase of personal
assistance with the activities of daily living.rights to shift their life
We need to facilitate them to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
Access to education and employment have also been a major focus of this
movement. Adaptive technologies, enabling people to work jobs they could not
have previously, help create access to jobs and economic independence. Access in
the classroom has helped improve education opportunities and independence for
people with disabilities.
