ECONOMICS - TV STATION PROJECT

Directions, Information, and Grading Rubric

* You or you & your partner have been hired as directors of


programming for a new local Seattle Televison Station.

* The station will air in 6-months, you are helping to setup the station.
You are responsible for getting all of the necessary information
needed to make all programming choices.

* You will need to visit 3 different local or national TV websites and


complete a sheet that analyzes the 3 stations.

* You will need to develop 4 questions to ask 15 different students.


The questions need to be worded to get numbers or 1 word
responses, because you will need to sort the answers. After surveying
15 students you will create 4 illustrations that show categories and
percentatges representing the responses.

* You will create a new station number and station nickname.

* Pick a theme for your station: sports, music, videos, reality TV,
all reruns, talk show format, gardening, cooking, travel, comedy, etc..

* The last section will be a 24-hour programing schedule. You will


need to complete each section in 1-hour blocks for 24 hours.
Utilize copy & paste for repeat sections.
