Many learners who start with simple stories can read a large number of books without difficulty. Based on these syptomps, the author interested in studying this problem with the title interested in studying these problems by title Using Start Simple Stories (SSS) Technique To Make The English Reading Learning Effective At The Eight Grade Of Junior High School Number 2 Bintan. C. Formulation Of the Problem Based on the topic of limitations, the authors assume the problem statement of the identification of the problem is as follows: How is the influence of using Start Simple Stories (SSS) technique to make the English reading learning effective at the eight grade of junior high school number 2 bintan timur ?

D. Research Method 1. Location of the Research This reasearch will conduct at the junior high school number 2 Bintan on Kp. Baru keke street, Kijang. 2. Subject and Object of the Research The subject or the source data of this research is the eight grade of junior high school number 2 Bintan. Object of the research is using Start Simple Stories (SSS) technique to make the english reading learning effective. 3. Population and Sample of the Research a. Population of the Research Population of the research is the number or body of inhabitants of particular race or class in place that used to research. Sample of the Research According to Sugiyono (2010:62), sample is part of amount and proprietary characteristic by that population. Because of population in this study is more than a hundred; it is suggested take 10%-15%, or 20%-25% (Arikunto, 1986:107). This number is representative enough for the research. In this experimental research, the researcher will take 20% of the population of the study; it means that from 110

students the researcher takes 22 students as a sample of the study. They consist of 22 students in class XI AK 2. 4. In order to get students individual score, the writer used the formula: t=

questionnaires and

Where: Md Xd N : Mean from different pre-test with post test : Deviation of subject : Total quadrant deviation : Subject of sample

( Arikunto, 2002: 275) Henning (1987: 74) states that reliability is a measure of accurancy, consistency, dependability, or fairness of scores resulting from administration of a particular examination. The reliability of the test can be calculated by following formula:

r II=
Where:

r II = The coefficient of reliability test

k = the standar deviation of all test M = the mean score on the test for all the testes =total of varians (Arikunto, 2002:164)
