Creating a Strong Market

The US needs to nearly triple investment in

infrastructure, from 1.3% of GDP now to over 3% by
2015 - raising investment levels from today’s $150
billion to $368 billion. The Leadership Forum is focused
on identifying the projects that will increase:

Productivity - building the intermodal and mobility

projects required to dramatically increase the productivity
of the US economy, and North America;

Opportunity - building the kind of infrastructure that

allows businesses to emerge, imagine new markets,
expand and creatively develop;

Job Creation - Job creation from out Top 100 list would
yield over 7.5 million direct jobs in a five year time span,
and perhaps twice that number of indirect jobs*

Competitiveness - the result would be a massive

increase in US competitiveness, coupled with renewed
leadership in the global infrastructure marketplace

% GDP Invested in Infrastructure

Infrastructure investment in the US is at an inflection point. First, after a nearly 30 year steady decline in infrastructure spending, the country is
counting on the creation of a National Infrastructure Bank to reverse the trend - pushing investment back up to 3% of GDP by 2015 -- and
maintaining that level going forward.
