1. Can you find the Newtons third law pair forces in each of these pictures?

2. At the ice skating rink, Lydia (who has a mass of 50 kg) stands face to face with her brother, Marcus (who has a mass of 80 kg). They put their hands together and Lydia pushes Marcus backwards. Draw one system schema and two FBDs (one each for Lydia and Marcus) during the push. You may assume that the ice is frictionless. System Schema

Make sure that every force is labeled with the object exerting the force and the object experiencing the forces. Both forces of a N3L force pair should be drawn with the same mark to show their equality (/ , //, O etc.) if you have colored pencils, you can outline them in the same color instead (or additionally). FBD for Lydia FBD for Marcus

a. How does the force that Lydia exerts on Marcus compare to the force that Marcus exerts on Lydia? Are they the same? If not, which is greater?

b.

Who will move more? Please explain.

3. A 1 kg ball is thrown up in the air. Draw a system schema for the situation. System Schema

Please draw an FBD for each of the objects in the system. Make sure that every force has the object exerting the force listed in parentheses. Both forces of a N3L force pair should be drawn with the same mark to show their equality (/ , //, O etc.) if you have colored pencils, you can outline them in the same color instead (or additionally). FBD for Ball FBD for Earth

a. How does the force that the earth exerts on the ball compare to the force that the ball exerts on the earth? Are they the same? If not, which is greater?

b.

Which will move more? Please explain.

4. A block slides down a ramp at a constant speed. During that slide, the ramp sits at rest on a table. Draw one system schema for the situation. System Schema

Please draw an FBD for each of the objects in the system. Make sure that every force has the object exerting the force listed in parentheses. Both forces of a N3L force pair should be drawn with the same mark to show their equality (/ , //, O etc.) if you have colored pencils, you can outline them in the same color instead (or additionally) FBD for Block FBD for Ramp

5. Consider the following situation. Draw a system schema for the whole situation labeling each line with the force it represents. System Schema

The mass of the calculator is 0.5 kg. The mass of the physics book is 1 kg. The mass of the English book is 2 kg.
